Earn CM certification in three easy steps Step 1: Get Trained Training for The CM Exams Delivered through HR Pulse s professional trainers. Classes are arranged and facilitated by setting flexible schedules and convenient locations. Training Materials for the CM Program include: Study Manuals: Three manuals titled Management Skills I, II and III contain core content, integrated case examples, application based exercises and management glossaries. The Certified Manager Body of Knowledge (BOK) The Certified Manager BOK is organized into 3 modules. The knowledge domains of each module are assessed by a corresponding CM certification exam (three exams in total). Eligibility requirements must be met and three CM certification exams passed to earn the CM certification. Management Skills III: Leading & Controlling Provides fundamental leadership and management skills and knowledge. Content Includes Leadership Motivation Managing Change Managing Conflict, Politics and Negotiation Managing Misbehavior Time and Stress Management Organizational Control Operations Control Understanding Accounting and Financial Information Financial Management Step 2: Get Certified Application The application serves as an audit of the applicant's education and experience. It determines eligibility to take the CM certification exams based on a point system therefore a candidate must have at least 10 points. Education points: are rewarded for high school completion, college degree and non-degree programs and management training (including CM preparatory classes). Experience points: are warded for managerial, non-managerial, general business, leadership and teaching experience. It is verified by reference statements signed by former employers. Applicants that meet either the education or experience requirement, but not both, may apply to the CM program as an associate CM. Associate CMs can earn full CM status by fulfilling the deficient requirement and providing documentation to ICPM. Applications may be completed through HR Pulse team for approvals. Applicants are notified by letter or email their eligibility to participate in the CM program.

Step 3: Get Recognized After successfully passing the CM exams, your achievement will be recognized by friends, family, co-workers, clients, senior management, and the business community. Exam Content & Format The CM exams assess analytical skills, knowledge and decision making skills. Exams may be taken on the ICPM e-learning Center at any time and using any computer with internet access. Exams are password - protected for security and are to be taken without assistance from others, notes, or reference materials of any kind. All exam questions are multiple-choice. A maximum of 120 minutes is allowed for the completion of each exam. Separate versions of the CM exams are offered for US and International customers and differ from one another in length and content. US exams contain 120 questions and are taken by applicants who live and work in the USA and by US Military personnel. International exams contain 100 questions and are administered to applicants who live and work outside the USA. US - specific content, such as US laws and regulations are not covered by these exams. New CMs receive: A congratulatory letter CM certificate issues by ICPM/College of Business/James Madison university-usa CM lapel pin Copy of the ICPM code of ethics Entitled to use the title "Certified Manager" and the registered CM title designation (i.e. John Smith, CM). ICPM recognizes CMs by sending press releases to local papers and announcement letters to designated parties and the names of new CMs are also published in ICPM's bi-annual newsletter.

Grades and Grading Exams are scored as pass or fail. Online exams give immediate pass/fail results upon completion. These results are confirmed by an official grading which occurs on the 16th of each month or the next business day. Official results are emailed immediately thereafter. Official results include detailed feedback to highlight both strengths and weaknesses on specific content areas. Applicants who pass an exam can use this feedback to help them address their areas of weakness, and those who fail can use it to prepare to retake the exam. Scheduling ICPM offers the ultimate in testing flexibility by making exams available 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Test takers may choose times and dates for exams that fit their schedules and notify ICPM when they are ready to test. Reliability & Validity The CM exams are highly valid and reliable, as proven by regular psychometric testing. Reliability measures the exam's consistency or ability to produce similar scores each time a test taker attempts the exam under similar conditions. Validity measures the quality of the exam in assessing competency.
