1.0 Cloudscape Sweden Methodology Research and Selection The cloudscape is a snapshot of the local SaaS, PaaS and IaaS provider landscape. Although The METISfiles strives to be as complete as possible, the cloudscape is an ongoing research effort. We will release updated versions of the cloudscape to reflect our growing database The cloudscape is based on desk research Only companies that have their worldwide HQ in Sweden are eligible for the list* Only companies that sell (public) cloud services to the business market are included, we do not include consumer cloud. 1.0 Cloudscape Sweden Sweden Trends The Cloudscape now covers the Top 250 Swedish Cloud players (up from 200) The % of SaaS providers decreases from 78% to 74% The % of IaaS providers increases from 22% to 26% The % of SaaS providers that have an IaaS partner increases from 62% to 67%. 2.0 Sweden and Denmark Compared SaaS Providers by Category Within the Swedish SaaS segment, Communications is the leading SaaS offering with 10% of SaaS vendors. Within the Danish SaaS segment, Finance/ERP is the leading SaaS offering with 10% of SaaS vendors. In Sweden, there are 77 different types of SaaS categories, in Denmark 61. 2.0 Sweden and Denmark Compared SaaS Providers Production Site Hosting Location In order to leverage public cloud benefits such as flexibility and agility, the majority of Swedish and Danish SaaS providers prefer partnering with an IaaS provider rather than manage their own production platform. Although both Swedish (36%) and Danish (38%) SaaS providers favour IaaS partners with local clouds, many also team up with international providers that have cloud infrastructure in European and US data centres. 2.0 Sweden and Denmark Compared Cloud Providers Offering Online Ordering and Onboarding The business customer buying experience is becoming increasingly important. Many SaaS providers offer online ordering and onboarding to satisfy business customer demand for immediate application delivery. Of the major SaaS categories, Time Management, ecommerce and Finance/ERP SaaS providers are leading in online ordering. Applications such as IaaS, Communications and Online Workspace are more likely to be purchased offline. 2.0 Sweden and Denmark Compared SaaS Providers Offering Online Ordering and Onboarding Providers that have an IaaS partner are much more likely to offer online ordering and onboarding. 58% of Swedish and 59% of Danish SaaS providers on IaaS infrastructure offer onboarding with a swipe of the credit card. 2.0 Sweden and Denmark Compared SaaS Providers Major Hosting Partners Swedish and Danish SaaS providers favour international IaaS partners. The most popular international IaaS partner in both countries is Amazon (AWS) followed by Microsoft and in Denmark by Intelligent Group/Sentia (who acquired Zitcom, Hosters A/S, Athena IT Group, Solido, Jaynet and Cohaesio). Important local partners include, but are not limited to, GlobalConnect, DGC, IP-Only and Bahnhof. 2.0 Sweden and Denmark Compared IaaS Providers Global Public Cloud Partners To support customers that are looking to leverage international and hybrid cloud presence, 27% of Swedish and 53% of Danish IaaS players are partnering with global cloud players to provide hybrid clouds. Such partnerships link together local and international and private and public clouds in Swedish and Danish data centres through cloud interconnects and collaboration between data centre providers, cloud providers, CSPs and channel partners.
