A Guide To Using CIS Mapping
CIS Mapping is an exciting new feature by Construction Information Services (CIS) which allows premium customers to view project sectors on the Irish map and access projects directly through their hyperlinks. *Note* Design and Professional & Construction supplies catgeories won't be mapped as there is no specific site location associated. E.g. A road scheme cannot be mapped as it is a project that can extend for hundreds of kilometres. While very effort will be made to secure a verified GeoCode for projects in other categories, if the planning documents do not contain a GeoCode then the Research team cannot determine the location of a project at plans submitted stage, but will endevour to map the project at a further stage. But all projects will still appear on the list of results.

Simply click on the Map View tab and see a visual representation of the list of page results on a map of Ireland.
*NOTE* Ensure you set 'Records per page' to the maximum of 250 to see the most results per page of your results. If you have more than 250 results in your search, simply click on the 'Next' button to view more projects on the map. *NOTE* If you conduct a search for Residential projects for example, a medical icon may appear. This is due to a medical element being part of the overall Residential project.
You can access key project information by clicking on an icon and scrolling down through the popup window. From here you can link to the planning documents and also to the CIS project description page for more information. Note: 'Coordinates obtained by planning authority' refers to project locations which have been obtained by a county council.
Customers can search for the map location of projects a particular company is actively involved with. When you login, click onto the dashboard to access project search and click on the 'Display more search fields' button Scroll down to the extended search page until the company search section at the end. Type in the company you want to search project locations they're involved with. You can then view these projects in list view of the new map view as can be seen below.
If you access a project decription page via the map view or via the usual results list, you will see a button to view the project on the map beside the adress just under the project title. You will also see a map showing the location of the project below the contacts section. Freemium users will see this view also.
