Overview The License Server versin 4.5.0 intrduces the ability t migrate yur licenses frm a physical dngle t yur nline Chas Grup accunt. This means that nce transferred, yur licenses will be available t yu frm anywhere and at any time withut the need fr a dngle t be plugged in yur machine. The sectins belw prvide infrmatin n dngle eligibility and a step-by-step guide f the migratin prcess. The migratin can nt be reverted. Once yur dngle licenses are successfully transferred nline, they can nt be transferred back t yur dngle. Dngle eligibility Once yu have updated the License Server t versin 4.5.0 r later, the ptin t transfer yur dngle licenses nline will be available t yu, nly if certain criteria are met: Only ne dngle must be plugged in WibuKey driver must be versin 6.00 r newer The dngle must be plugged in the same machine where the license server is running Online licensing must be activated
A valid user must be lgged in If the ptin fr dngle migratin is available t yu, then yur dngle is eligible fr migratin. Nte that nt all dngles are eligible. If the migrate ptin is nt available t yu, then the dngle yu have cnnected is nt eligible fr migratin. Amng ther criteria, a dngle is cnsidered eligible when the user, t whm the dngle is assigned, is registered within the same cmpany as the user that is currently lgged in the Online License Server. The dngle has t be cnnected t the machine where the License Server is running. Please nte that perpetual licenses fr Chas Grup prducts versin 2.x can nt be migrated. Only 2.x prducts with expiratin date can be transferred. There are n limitatins fr transferring prducts with versin 3.0 and later. Walkthrugh The infrmatin in this sectin takes yu thrugh the dngle migratin prcess. 1. Update the License Server t versin 4.5.0 r later. Earlier versins f the License Server d nt supprt dngle migratin. T update t the latest versin f the License Server, visit the Dwnlad sectin f the Chas Grup website r fllw this link. 2. Activate Online Licensing. Yu will need t lg in with yur Chas Grup accunt. The screen belw is accessible by pening a web brwser and typing in lcalhst:30304 in the address field. Keep in mind that the dngle needs t be plugged in the same machine where the License Server is running, as explained in the next step.
The accunt that yu will use t lg in must be registered with Chas Grup within the same cmpany as the user t whm the dngle licenses are assigned. 3. Plug the dngle yu wish t migrate t the machine where the license server is running. Once the dngle is plugged, click n ENABLE DONGLE t enable the dngle service. The dngle needs t be plugged in the same machine where the License Server is running. D nt plug mre than ne dngle at a time, therwise the TRANSFER ptin will nt be available t yu. Please refer t the critera listed in the Dngle eligibility sectin. If all criteria are met and yur dngle is eligible fr transfer, yu will see the TRANSFER ptin in the License Server web interface.
The TRANSFER ptin is als available frm the DONGLE menu.
4. The TRANSFER ptin will take yu t the next screen, where yu will need t type in the username f the Chas Grup accunt t which yu wish t transfer the licenses. The username can be different frm the ne that was used t activate the current instance f the License Server. In this case, the username must be registered with Chas Grup within the same cmpany as the user t whm the dngle is assigned. If yu have entered a crrect username, a tick sign will appear next t the Username field cnfirming a successful username check.
Befre yu click the TRANSFER buttn, please read carefully the disclamers n the current screen and keep in mind the fllwing: The migratin might take a while. Transferring yur dngle licenses t yur Chas Grup accunt might take a few minutes, s please be patient. Temprarily unavailable licenses. During the migratin, yur licenses will nt be available t yu. After a successful migratin, it might take a few minutes befre yur transferred licenses are available t yu in yur Chas Grup accunt. D nt remve dngle during migratin. Once the migratin has started, please d nt remve the dngle until yu reach the cnfirmatin screen fr a successful migratin and click CLOSE. Yu can then remve the dngle. Only ne dngle can be migrated at a time. Make sure that yu have cnnected nly ne dngle t yur machine and all ther dngles that yu might have are currently disnnected. After a dngle is successfully migrated, yu can then discnnect it and cnnect the next dngle yu wish t migrate. During migratin, please d nt plug ther dngles int the machine while there's a migratin in prcess. Dngle can n lnger be used after successful migratin. After a successful migratin, yur dngle can n lnger be used. All yur licenses will be available nline fr use with yur Chas Grup accunt with the Online License Server. The migratin can nt be reverted. Once yur dngle licenses are successfully transferred nline, they can nt be transferred back t yur dngle. Yu can nw click the TRANSFER >> buttn t start the migratin.
During the migratin, please d nt remve the dngle that is currently being migrated and d nt plug ther dngles t the machine. 5. After a successful migratin, yu will see a cnfirmatin screen. All licenses frm yur dngle are transferred t yur Chas Grup accunt fr use with the Online License Server. A summary f yur licenses is available n the HOME screen. After a successful transfer, the DONGLE service is disabled in the License Server. Yu can nw click CLOSE and discnnect the dngle frm the machine. Nte: if yu wish t migrate anther dngle, remve the current dngle, cnnect the next ne, enable the DONGLE service and repeat the prcess again. Ntes
