System Requirements This section describes the system requirements for Workflow Composer. Devices For information on the devices supported by this version of Workflow Composer, see "Table of Workflow Composer Application Files." IMPORTANT To use Workflow Composer in conjunction with Workflow Editor and Workflow Management Plug-in, the Device Information Delivery Settings function must be available. The following conditions must be met to send and receive flows between devices without using Workflow Editor: --The Device Information Delivery Settings function must be available for flows. --The devices to send and receive flows must be of the same model. However, some information may not be sent and received correctly, depending on the optional products that are installed. --The same System Manager ID and System Password must be set on each device with which you want to send and receive flows. The Device Information Delivery Settings function for flows can be used by setting [Workflow Composer] to [Off] in [Restrict Receiving for Each Function] in [Device Information Delivery Settings] on the [Settings/Registration] screen of devices. After distributing/receiving flows, set this setting to [On] again, as necessary. For more information, see the manuals for the device. 1-2 System Requirements

Installing Workflow Composer 2CHAPTER This chapter describes how to install Workflow Composer. Installing and Starting Workflow Composer...2-2 2-1

Installing and Starting Workflow Composer To use Workflow Composer, it is necessary to install an application file and license file in the device, and then start Workflow Composer. The application file is included on the CD-ROM that contains this instruction manual. The following two methods exist for installing Workflow Composer: Using SMS (Service Management Service) Using the "Register/Update Software" Function This section describes the procedure for installing Workflow Composer using SMS (Service Management Service) from a Web browser of a computer on the network. To use the Register/ Update Software function, install Workflow Composer from the touch panel display or a computer (Remote UI). For more information, see the manuals for the device. IMPORTANT License files may be provided by your local authorized Canon dealer, or they may have to be retrieved from the license management system on the Internet. The URL for the license management system is: http://www.canon.com/lms/license/ A license access number and device serial number are required to retrieve a license file from the license management system. The device's serial number is the number displayed on the bottom of the screen when you press [Counter Check] on the device (and is also displayed in the top left of the SMS screen). Store the license file in a safe place. It may be required when reinstalling Workflow Composer. If the device enters the Shutdown mode while installing Workflow Composer, an error message is displayed on the SMS installation page. The installation may be canceled. In this case, restart the device, and then install Workflow Composer again. For information on restarting the device, see the manuals for the device. When installing Workflow Composer on a device that already has it installed, it is recommended that you export the flows registered in the device. For more information, see the User's Guide for Workflow Composer. 2-2 Installing and Starting Workflow Composer

1. Start your Web browser enter the following URL. http://<ip address or host name of the device> The Log In screen is displayed. 2. Enter the required items click [Log In]. IMPORTANT Log in with administrator privileges (System Administrator or SSO-H Administrator). For information on login services, see the manuals for the device. If you are not using a login service (default status): Enter [System Manager ID] and [System PIN] click [Administrator Login]. The default System Manager ID and System Password is '7654321'. If Default Authentication (Department ID Management) is set as the login service: Enter [Department ID] and [PIN] click [Log In]. If SSO-H (Single Sign-On H) is set as the login service: Enter [User Name] and [Password] select [Login Destination] click [Log In]. Installing and Starting Workflow Composer 2-3

3. Click [Service Management Service] under [Management Tools]. The Login page of SMS is displayed. 2-4 Installing and Starting Workflow Composer

4. Enter the password click [Log In]. The default password is 'MeapSmsLogin' (case-sensitive). The [MEAP Application Management] page is displayed. Installing and Starting Workflow Composer 2-5

5. Click [Install MEAP Application]. NOTE The following available resources are required to install Workflow Composer on a device: For Models with SVGA Touch Panel Display: --Storage/Hard Disk: 200 MB --Memory: 10 MB --Threads: 22 --Sockets: 2 --File Descriptors: 14 For Models with VGA Touch Panel Display: --Storage/Hard Disk: 185 MB --Memory: 9 MB --Threads: 15 --Sockets: 7 --File Descriptors: 10 The [Install MEAP Application/License] page is displayed. 2-6 Installing and Starting Workflow Composer

6. Click [Browse] specify the path to the application file (.jar) and license file (.lic). 7. Click [Install]. The installation confirmation page is displayed. 8. Click [Yes]. Wait until the installation is complete. 9. Click [MEAP Application Management]. Workflow Composer is displayed in the application list on the [MEAP Application Management] page. 10. Click [Start] for [Workflow Composer]. The status field changes from [Installed] to [Started], and Workflow Composer can be used. NOTE It is not necessary to start/stop Workflow Composer every time the main power of the device is turned ON/OFF. 11. Click [Log Out from SMS]. 2-8 Installing and Starting Workflow Composer

Stopping and Uninstalling Workflow Composer Use SMS (Service Management Service) to uninstall Workflow Composer. Perform the procedure for uninstalling Workflow Composer in the following order: Stop Workflow Composer Disable the License File Download and Delete the Disabled License File Uninstall Workflow Composer 1. 10. Click [Download] for [Download/Delete Disabled License File]. IMPORTANT Store the downloaded license file in a safe place, as it is used when reinstalling Workflow Composer. Stopping and Uninstalling Workflow Composer 3-9

11. Follow the instructions on the screen to save the disabled license file (extension: lic). 12. Click [Delete] for [Download/Delete Disabled License File]. A confirmation page for deleting the license file is displayed. 13. Click [Yes]. 14. Click [MEAP Application Management]. The [MEAP Application Management] page is displayed, and the license field of Workflow Composer changes to [Not Installed]. 15. Click [Uninstall] for [Workflow Composer].
