2 Vins is a small firm of craftsmen founded in Maranello, the heart of the Motor Valley. We deal with the design and manufacturing of innovative and ultralight sport motorcycles, by taking care of the whole developing process, including composites materials and engine. Our Company is composed by a highly qualified staff, able to satisfy several needs regarding both the design and the process/manufacturing of each part. 3 Design/ Engineering The most advanced existing software allows us to implement every kind of project. We are able to properly carry out every step: from the initial photoshop graphic sketch and the 3D modeling with Alias Surface to the engineering of the complete part. The original and creative idea takes shape by means of software like Photoshop and Illustrator, ensuring the best professional performance and quality to both the sketch and the vector graphics. The experience gained with the Autodesk Alias Surface software allows a faithful 3D rendering of even more complex sketches, by taking into account the ergonomics and feasibility studies. Autodesk Alias The rendering software (Autodesk Vred) provides a 3D photorealistic simulation of the final product allowing the highest degree of customization thanks to the variety of bodywork and design features. 5 Scan Reverse Engineering /Reverse CAD We are able to replicate real objects into a CAD format in order to modify them thanks to the FARO CAM2 3D scanner and the POLYWORKS software. Reverse engineering and Reverse CAD enable us to reconstruct 3D virtual models of an existing physical part in order to improve its performance and the quality controls. 6 As modern craftsmen, we cannot avoid to apply Rapid Prototyping. This is possible thanks to of our ZOR- TRAX M300 filament printer with a wide range of printing filament like ABS, rubber. Rapid Prototyping Modello 3D Scale model processing of the Duecinquanta Competizione tail section for an accurate study of proportions. It enables us to reach a level of accuracy equal to 0,05mm, thereby obtaining whether aesthetic or structural models, as required. Photo of the assembled tail. 05

7 Machine Tools Starting from our own sketch or from the one proposed, we are able to realize the finished and functioning prototype of the product required. 8 The feather in the cup of our firm is the composite department. We are one of the few companies able to perform the whole manufacturing process of a product, from the sketch to the finished part. Composites Clean Room In order to ensure the maximum level of quality and control on the finished product, we are directly involved from the preparation of the mould in the Clean Room, to the autoclave cure and the final finishing of the part. Our equipment allows us to laminate the carbon fiber (both pre-preg and wet layup process) in a proper area with constant temperature and humidity. Carbon fiber layup inside the mould. 07

9 Composites Autoclave The autoclave enables us to achieve the maximum level of mechanical and structural performance from the manufacture product; otherwise, it would not be possible to monitor the whole process and achieve the highest quality standards required. Our autoclave curing cycle depends on each particular case: the operating range includes temperatures up to 180 C and pressures up to 7 BAR. 08 w w w. vin smoto r s. c o m

10 After the autoclave processing, the product receives the finishing touch in the dedicated room for the subsequent coating or bonding. Here we have installed the CORAL Polijet suction table which captures all types of powders, giving us a safe and healthy working environment. 11 Engine testing room By using specific software and a new BAPRO chassis dyno, we are able to execute an in-depth analysis of any 2 and 4 stroke engines for motorcycles.
