1 Delta RV Fifth Grade Math Curriculum Revised 2010 Strand: Number and Operations GLE 1: Understand numbers, ways of representing numbers, relationships among numbers and number systems Read, write and compare numbers Read, write and compare whole numbers less than 1,000,000, unit fractions and decimals to hundredths (including location on the number line) MA Skill/Concept Using whole number, fraction and decimal cards, students will form a human number line ordering themselves greatest to least, orally reading their numbers B Students will: Represent and use rational numbers Recognize and generate equivalent forms of commonly used fractions and decimals C Students will: Compose and decompose numbers Recognize equivalent representations for the same number and generate them by decomposing and composing numbers MA MA5 1.6 Applicat ion Using graffiti technique, generate posters of equivalent fractions Play a memory type game matching numbers in different forms D Students will: Classify and describe numeric relationships Describe numbers according to their characteristics, including whole number common factors and multiples, prime or composite, and square numbers MA Comprehension Play a number characteristic BINGO game 1
