Check for etraneous roots by substituting your solution into the original equation to check if the left side of the equation equals the right side. Notes Oblique or slant asymptotes are not a part of this outcome. All graphs are restricted to horizontal and vertical asymptotes. Numerators and denominators should be limited to degree two or less. Transformations of rational functions does NOT include the transformation of y = f () to y f. Key Concepts: Rational functions are of the form f P Q, where P() and Q() are polynomial epressions and Q() 0.
