Geometry AMI/USA Refresher Course
What is Geometry? its definition cannot be condensed into just one sentence it is definitely associated with mathematics and has a specific language it has lasted more than 4000 years and keeps on going it is a knowledge accumulated by humanity during centuries geometry is an irreducible component of culture Geometry is a part of humanity! AMI/USA Refresher Course
Geometry in the Casa Environment is presented to the child to aid in the observation of his/her world the structure of everything in nature has shape, basic symmetry and a geometric form once the child is shown the shape and then given the name he/she will see it in everything shapes in faces, buildings, food, architecture, clothing, animals, Geometry geometry is used daily by almost everyone in geometry, one explores spatial sense and geometric reasoning geometry is found everywhere: in art, architecture, engineering, robotics, land surveys, astronomy, sculptures, space, nature, sports, machines, cars and much more Studying geometry provides many foundational skills and helps to build the thinking skills of logic, deductive reasoning, analytical reasoning and problem solving to name just a few. AMI/USA Refresher Course

How does a snowflake get its shape? The shape of snowflakes is influenced by the temperature and humidity of the atmosphere. Snowflakes form in the atmosphere when cold water droplets freeze onto dust particles. Depending on the temperature and humidity of the air where the snowflakes form, the resulting ice crystals will grow into a myriad of different shapes. AMI/USA Refresher Course
This is where our casa children exist with that information! AMI/USA Refresher Course
Sand sand is a sedimentary material loose grains of worn out and disintegrated rocks sand is of fine granules with grains ranging between 0.06 and 2.0 mm in diameter sand is a naturally occurring fragmented material comprised of tiny particles of decomposed rocks, shells, or corals AMI/USA Refresher Course
Geometry - where shall we put it? Practical Life: folding cloths, making mitts, ironing, sewing on a button Sensorial: Roman Arch, constructive triangles, small metal insets, geometry of music Language: Reading Analysis through shape, size and colour AMI/USA Refresher Course
Shapes Geometry Cabinet Tracing Matching the positive (inset) to the negative (frame) Three Period Lessons Work with the Geometric Form Cards: filled-in, thick-outlined, thin-outlined Games Shapes Geometric Solids stereognostic experience discovering relationships between the solids Three Period Lessons child driven classification: curvilinear or rectilinear discovering relationships between the solid forms and the plane figures games AMI/USA Refresher Course
Shapes Constructive Triangles Rectangular Box A Rectangular Box B Triangular Box Large Hexagonal Box Small Hexagonal Box Design Box Classified Cards Definition Sets: parts of a triangle Shapes Graded Geometric Figures Small Metal Insets Roman Arch AMI/USA Refresher Course
When our little children fold cloths, geometry magically appears. AMI/USA Refresher Course
The young girl discriminating different sizes, shapes and colours is building the table of Pythagoras. The table of Pythagoras is an invention of Pythagoras. It is a formula that facilitates multiplication. In language, order, function and meaning matter so to in math. Jack made his dad a birthday present. made. dad his Jack present birthday likewise (1 + 8) = 80 is not the same as = (1) AMI/USA Refresher Course
