2 MDL100 RS232 communication protocol This document is a short description of protocol for message exchange beetwen Personal Computer and MDL100 via RS232. The RS232 must be set with the following parameters: Baud rate: 4800 bit/sec Parity: Stop bit: 1 Data bit: 8 The cable to connect PC and MDL100 is shown below: PC 9 pin conn. MDL pin conn. 2 RxD < > 1TxD 3 TxD < > 2 RxD 5 GND < > 7 GND The command message format is as follow: <STX> <LENGTH> <CMD> [INFO] <CKSUM> <STX> <LENGTH> <CMD> [INFO] <CKSUM> start of text character (0x03) number of byte (from CMD to last byte of INFO. Gamma correction (CMD = 0x62) Select color and Look-Up Table number to perform gamma correction and picture solarization.
