Users, equipped with connected devices, permit data to be sent to a Smart Services Data platform, which in turn initiates the (pre-emptive) Action required by the User. The various stakeholders interact at different points in time, whereby the ongoing process is not yet completed when the initiation of the action has taken place. Essential requirements such as Connectivity, Data Security, Accountability and Service Quality must be fulfilled in order to ensure the perfect functioning of a Smart Services process. Our SODA model therefore describes a Smart Service in terms of a dynamic circular process that must be continuously monitored once it has been set up. However, the scenario is complex. Besides privately developed and maintained Smart Services, there are also upcoming national or multi-national regulations which require the settingup of services that comprise wireless connected devices and sensors, Smart Services platforms, data collection, data analysis and pre-emptive actions. 7Layers has many years of experience in developing, setting up and managing efficient verification & validation processes for connected devices.
