2 Question 1: Output To be answered in(15) Minutes [ ] / 4 Marks What is the output of the following codes? 1) (2 marks) int x = 5; int y = 4; void position(int& x, int& y) x += :: x; y += :: y; int x = 2, y = 1; position(x,y); cout << x << " " << y << endl; position(x,y); cout << x << " " << y; Output: 7 5 // 1 mark 12 9 // 1 mark 2) (2 marks) int array[] = 51,52,53,54; for (int i = 0; i < 4; i++) if (array[i] % 2 == 1) array[i]++; for (int j = 0; j <=3; j++) cout << array[j] << " "; Output: // 0.5 for each Imam University CCIS Doc. 3 Question 2: Find and Fix Errors To be answered in(15) Minutes [ ] / 4 Marks The following program simulates a simplified finger guessing game with one hand (5 fingers). The program chooses randomly one finger (using generate()), then asks user to guess which finger is selected. Finally, the program informs the user whether he correctly guessed the right finger or not. The program contains 4 errors that you have to find and fix them. For each error, you should mention the complete wrong instruction, the type (syntax or logic), and the complete correct instruction #include <cstdlib> #include <time.h> int generate() srand(time(0)); return rand(); void print() switch(n) case 1: cout << "Thumb" << endl; break; case 2: cout << "Index" << endl; break; case 3: cout << "Middle" << endl; break; case 4: cout << "Ring" << endl; case 5: cout << "Pinky" << endl; int f, g; cout << "Guess! "; cin >> f; cout << "Your guess: "; print(f); g = generate(f); cout << "Computer guess: "; print(g); if (g == 1) cout << "Bravo!!!"; else cout << "Wrong..."; break; Example of execution 1: Guess! 1 Your guess: Thumb Computer guess: Thumb Bravo!!! Example of execution 2: Guess! 4 Your guess: Ring Computer guess: Pinky Wrong... Error 1: Syntax Logic 0.25 Line #: return rand()%5 + 1; Error 2: Syntax Logic 0.25 Line #: void print(int n) Error 3: Syntax Logic 0.25 Line #: g = generate(); Error 4: Syntax Logic 0.25 Line #: if (g == f) Imam University CCIS Doc. 4 Question 3: Write a C++ Program To be answered in (30) Minutes [ ] /7 Marks 1) Write a C++ function isleap() that takes a year as an integer parameter and tells whether the given year is/was a leap year (divide by four). bool isleap(int y) // 1 mark return (y % 4 == 0 ); // 1 mark 2) Write another C++ function monthdays() that takes a month and a year as integer parameters and return the days number of the month. The months of the year have lengths according to the following rules: The odd months up to and including month 7 have 31 days. The even months from 8 upwards, have 31 days. Month 2 has 28 days except in a leap year when it has 29 days (Hint: you may call isleap()). The rest of the months have 30 days. int monthdays(int m, int y) // 1 mark switch(m) case 1 : case 3 : case 5 : case 7 : case 8 : case 10: case 12: return 31; // 0.25 mark case 4 : case 6 : case 9 : case 11: return 30; // 0.25 mark case 2 : return (isleap(y)? 29 : 28); // 0.5 mark Imam University CCIS Doc. No Page 4 of 5
5 3) Write a C++ program that, given a date, three integers (for example, ), will print the number of that day within its year: i.e. Jan 1st is always 1, Dec 31st is either 365 or 366. You can call monthdays() to determine the number of the days by month, in this case you have to write the prototype of this function. Example of execution 1: Enter a date (dd/mm/yyyy): Day number is: 61 Example of execution 2: Enter a date (dd/mm/yyyy): Day number is: 158 int monthdays(int m, int y); // 0.25 mark int d, m, y, number = 0; // 0.5 mark cout << "Enter a date (dd/mm/yyyy): "; cin >> d >> m >> y; // 0.5 mark for (int i = 1; i < m; i++) // 0.5 mark number += monthdays(i,y); // 0.5 mark number += d; // 0.5 mark cout << "Day number is: " << number; // 0.25 mark Imam University CCIS Doc.
