1 Feature Summary and Revision History, page 1 Feature Description, page 2 Feature Summary and Revision History Summary Data Applicable Product(s) or Functional Area Ultra M Solution Ultra Automation Services Applicable Platform(s) Ultra Gateway Platform Feature Default Enabled Configuration Required Related Changes in This Release Not Applicable Related Documentation USP Deployment Automation Guide Revision History Revision Details Release First Introduced. N5.5 1
2 Feature Description Feature Description In this release, the Ultra Service Platform (USP) can re-use the same floating IP address to redeploy the CF, UEM, and VNFM (currently the Cisco Elastic Services Controller (ESC)). In previous releases, if these VMs were restarted, they d likely receive different IP addresses from those they had prior to being restarted. This feature ensures that the IP address they receive after restarting remains the same. Note Prior to assigning floating and virtual IP addresses, make sure that they are not already allocated through OpenStack. If the addresses are already allocated, then they must be freed up for use or you must assign a new IP address that is available in the VIM. The configuration of this feature is done through new parameters added to the AutoDeploy configuration file and/or UWS service deployment configuration file. Auto Deploy Configuration File Parameters New parameters were added to the following configuration file constructs within the AutoDeploy configuration file in support of this feature: VNFM Descriptor (vnfmd) Parameters, on page 2 VNF Descriptor (vnfd) Parameters, on page 3 VNFM Descriptor (vnfmd) Parameters The bold parameters in the sample configuration below are new within the vnfmd construct and must be configured to reuse floating addresses across VNFM VM restarts: vnfmd ab-auto-test-vnfm1 high-availability true login-credential autovnf-admin netconf-credential autovnf-admin image pre-created default-non-image vnf-rackd auto-test-sjc-vnf1-rack floating-ip true ha-vip <vip_address> floating-ip-address <floating_address> configs openstack.endpoint value publicurl flavor vcpus 2 flavor ram 4096 flavor root-disk 40 flavor ephemeral-disk 0 flavor swap-disk 0 flavor host-aggregate auto-test-sjc-cf-esc-mgmt1 Note The default setting for the floating-ip parameter is false which disables this functionality for the VNFM. This parameter must be set to true to enable the reuse of IP addresses across VNFM VM restarts. 2
3 Auto Deploy Configuration File Parameters VNF Descriptor (vnfd) Parameters The bold parameters in the sample configuration below are new within the vnfd construct and must be configured to reuse floating addresses across UEM and CF restarts: vnfd auto-testvnfd1 vnf-deployment vnfd1-deployment vnf-em vdu-id element-manager vnf-em high-availability true vnf-em ha-vip <vip_address> vnf-em floating-ip true vnf-em floating-ip-address <floating_address> vnf-em scm-admin autovnf-admin vnf-em scm-oper autovnf-oper vnf-param type vpc vnf-param configuration domain-name cisco.com vnf-param configuration dns-servers vnf-param internal-network di-internal1 vnf-param internal-network di-internal2 infra-element-groups di-chasis high-availability true instances 1 vdus CF vdu-ref control-function instances 2 interfaces di_intf1 network di-internal1 floating-ip false interfaces orch network orchestration floating-ip false interfaces mgmt network management enable-ha-vip <vip_address> floating-ip true floating-ip-address <floating_address> uplink-actions mount-ned-nc interfaces di_intf2 network di-internal2 floating-ip false interface-bonds DI_INTERFACE bond-interfaces di_intf1 bond-interfaces di_intf2 Notes: The default setting for the floating-ip and vnf-em floating-ip parameters is false which disables this functionality. Setting the vnf-em floating-ip to true enables this functionality for the UEM. 3
4 UWS Service Deployment Configuration File Parameters Setting the floating-ip parameter under interfaces mgmt to true enables this functionality for the CF. The floating-ip parameter under interfaces di_intf1, interfaces orch, and interfaces orch is not implemented in this release and should remain set to false. (This is the default setting.) UWS Service Deployment Configuration File Parameters New parameters were added to the following configuration file constructs within the AutoDeploy configuration file in support of this feature: VNFM Descriptor (vnfmd) Parameters, on page 4 VNF Descriptor (vnfd) Parameters, on page 5 VNFM Descriptor (vnfmd) Parameters The bold parameters in the sample configuration below are new within the vnfmd construct and must be configured to reuse floating addresses across VNFM VM restarts: <vnfmd xmlns=" annotation="## VNFM / ESC #1 ## "> <id>ab-auto-test-vnfm1</id> <high-availability>true</high-availability> <login-credential>autovnf-admin</login-credential> <netconf-credential>autovnf-admin</netconf-credential> <configs> <variable>openstack.endpoint</variable> <value>publicurl</value> </configs> <image> <pre-created>default-non-image</pre-created> </image> <vnf-rackd>auto-test-sjc-vnf1-rack</vnf-rackd> <flavor> <vcpus>2</vcpus> <ram>4096</ram> <root-disk>40</root-disk> <ephemeral-disk>0</ephemeral-disk> <swap-disk>0</swap-disk> <host-aggregate>auto-test-sjc-cf-esc-mgmt1</host-aggregate> </flavor> <floating-ip>true</floating-ip> <ha-vip>vip_address</ha-vip> <floating-ip-address>floating_address</floating-ip-address> </vnfmd> Note The default setting for the <floating-ip> parameter is false which disables this functionality for the VNFM. This parameter must be set to true to enable the reuse of IP addresses across VNFM VM restarts. 4
