1 Yvon s Checker game: Begin Board class Board extends JPanel - This class creates the Frame by extending JPanel. A checker Board is created in the panel. Relationship: Board is a JPanel, Board has a Square, Board has a Checker, JFrame holds a Board which is a JPanel. #sq [] []:Square #ch [] []:Checker #width:int #draggedpiece:checkerid #notready:static Boolean +Board() Constructor - This is were the JFrame for the board created, as well as: addmouselistener and addmousemotionlistener +setupboard() This method sets up the checker board (8 x 8) with all the squares. Its sets the color of each square, determines if the square is able to receive a checker, if so creates it and gives it the color of the checker and tages the square as having a checker. No parameters no return. +paint(g:graphics) This method overrides the JPanel paint method. Sets the color and fills each square. Sets the color of the checker and uses Graphic2D gradiant color class to give the illusion of a 3D checker. Parameter Graphics g, no return. Beginning of a nested class Nested DemoAdapter extends MouseAdapter This nested class is to allow the use of the MouseAdapter class Extends MouseAdampter +mousepressed(e:mouseevent) This method is used to identify if a checker is clicked on. If it is the position of the checker is set. This method calls repaint Parameter MouseEvent, no return +mousedragged(e:mouseevent) This allows the checer to be dragged. It checks to make sure the checker is draggable and sets the position as its being dragged. This method calls repaint Parameter MouseEvent, no return +mousereleased(mouseevent e) This method determines where the mouse is released. If the checer is released outside of the board it returns it to the originating square. If its released where it is invalid it will return to its originating square, otherwise it will move. This method also calls repaint Parameter MouseEvent, no return Ending of the nested class.

2 Continuing of the board class +getcheckerid(x:int, y:int) This method gets the appropriate side and count for a checker. The side and count is used to track each checker. Parameter int x and int y, return CheckerID +main([]args:string)this is the driver of the game. This method instantiates the board and calls the constructor. End of Board class

3 Beginning of Square Class Square - This class is used with Board to maintain squares for a checker +col:int +row:int +width:int +xpos:int +ypos:int +color:color +isoccupiable:boolean +haschecker:boolean +Square(x:int, y:int, w:int) Constructor This method constructs the square variable. no return, Parameters int +getrow() This method gets protected information from the square class (row - the row in the 8 x 8 board) Parameter none, returns int +setrow(r:int) This method sets the value of row. Parameter int, returns int. +getcol() This method gets the protected information from the square class (col the column in the 8 x 8 board). Parameter none, return int +setcol(c:int) This methods sets the value of the col. Parameter int, return int +getxpos() This method gets protected information from the square class (xpos the x position of the square) parameter none, returns int +setxpos(x:int) This method sets the value of the Xpos, Parameter int, return int +getypos() This methods gets protected information from the square class (ypos the y position of the square) Parameter none, return int +setypos(y:int) This method sets the value of the Ypos, Parameter int, return int +getwidth() This methods gets protected information from the square class. Parameter none, return int +setwidth(w:int) This method sets the value of width. Parameter int, return in +getcolor() This method gets protected information from the square class. Parameter none, return Color +setcolor(c:color) This method sets the value of color. Parameter c, return Color +getisoccupiable() This method gets protected information from the Square class. Parameter none, returns boolean. +setisoccupiable(is:boolean) This method sets the value of isoccupiable. Parameter boolean, return boolean +gethaschecker() This method gets protected information from the square class. Parameter none, return boolean +sethaschecker(has:boolean) This method sets the value of haschecker. Paramenter boolean, return boolean End of Square class

4 Begin Checker Class Checker - This class contains information associated with the checker for a checker board. - xpos:int - ypos:int - row:int - col:int - width:int - color:color - crowned:boolean +Checker(x:int, y:int, w:int, c:color) Constructor initializes all the necessary information for the checker class. Parameters int and Color, return none + getxpos() This methods gets protected information from the checker class (the x postion of the checker) + setxpos(x:int) This method sets the value of the xpos. Parameter int, returns int + getypos() This methods gets protected information from the checker class (the y postion of the checker) + setypos(x:int) This method sets the value of the ypos. Parameter int, returns int + getcolor() This methods gets protected information from the checker class (the color of the checker) + setcolor(c:color) This method sets the color of the checker. Parameter Color, returns Color + getcol() This methods gets protected information from the checker class + setcol(c:int) This method sets the value of the col. Parameter int, returns int + getrow() This methods gets protected information from the checker class + setrow(r:int) This method sets the value of the row. Parameter int, returns int + getwidth() This methods gets protected information from the checker class (Width of the checker) + setwidth(w:int) This method sets the value of the col. Parameter int, returns int +iscrowned() This method gets protected information from the checker class. (crowned whether or not the checker is a king), Parameter none, returns boolean +ismovevalid(isblacksquare:boolean, isnotempty:boolean, c:int, r:int, ch [][]:Checker, sq[][]:square) +isjumped(containedby:square) This method removes a jumped checker from the board.
