8 Preface Preface Dear customer, Congratulations on purchasing a high-quality MAGINON product. You have chosen a modern WiFi Video Camera with excellent technical equipment and respective accessory, which is particularly easy to operate. The device comes with a 3-year warranty. In case of a defect in the WiFi Video Camera, you require the enclosed warranty card and proof of purchase. Keep these in a safe place. 9 General Read and keep instructions This manual belongs to the Maginon WiFi Video Camera. It contains important information about the start-up and handling. Study these Operating Instructions and, in particular the Safety information in detail prior to using the WiFi Video Camera. Nonobservance of these Operating Instructions can lead to damage to the WiFi Video Camera. These Operating Instructions are based on valid standards and regulations of the EU. Also observe specific guidelines and laws in other countries! Keep Operating Instructions for further use. When passing on the WiFi Video Camera to third parties please also include these Operating Instructions. Explanation of symbols The following symbols and signal words are used in these Operating Instructions, on the device or on the packaging. DANGER! These signal words indicate a high-level hazard which could cause death or serious injury if not avoided. WARNING! General This signal word indicates a medium-level hazard which could cause death or serious injury if not avoided. 7

10 General CAUTION! This signal word indicates a low-level hazard which could cause slight or moderate injury if not avoided. NOTE! This signal word warns against potential material damage. This symbol provides useful additional information about the assembly or operation. 8

11 Safety Correct use The WiFi Video Camera is solely designed to be used as a WiFi Video Camera. It is only suitable for private and not or commercial use. Only use the WiFi Video Camera described in the operating instructions. Any other use is deemed to be incorrect and can cause material damage and loss of data. The manufacturers or dealers do not accept any liability for damage resulting from improper or incorrect use. Safety information WARNING! Danger of electrocution! Faulty electrical installations or excessive mains voltage can cause electrocution. Only connect the WiFi Video Camera if the mains voltage of the power point matches the voltage specified on the rating plate. Only connect the WiFi Video Camera to an easily accessible socket allowing quick disconnection from the power supply in case of a fault. Use only the supplied USB mains adapter. Safety Do not operate the WiFi Video Camera in case of visible damage or if the USB cable or USB mains adapter is defective. Damaged mains cables of the WiFi Video Camera must be replaced by the manufacturer or customer service or a similar qualified person. Do not open housing but have repair carried out by an expert. Contact a specialist workshop. All liability and warranty claims shall be void in case of repairs carried out by users, incorrect connection or improper use. 9

12 Safety The WiFi Video Camera may not be operated with an external timer or separate remote control system. Never immerse the WiFi Video Camera or USB cable or US mains adapter in water or other fluids. Never touch USB mains adapter with wet hands. Never remove USB mains adapter from socket by pulling on the USB cable, but always pull on USB mains adapter. Never use USB cable as a carrying handle. Keep the WiFi Video Camera, USB mains adapter and USB cable away from open flames and hot surfaces. Install USB lead in such a way that it does not become a trip hazard. Do not kink USB lead and do not install it over sharp edges. Never store the WiFi Video Camera in such a way that it can fall into a trough or wash basin. Never touch an electric device that has fallen into water. Always pull out USB mains adapter immediately in such a situation. Ensure that children do not push objects into the WiFi Video Camera. When not using or cleaning the WiFi Video Camera or in case of a fault, always switch off the WiFi Video Camera and pull USB mains connector out of socket. WARNING! Hazard for children and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities (such as partially disabled, older persons with limited physical and mental abilities) or lack of experience and know-how (such as older children). Keep children under the age of eight away from the WiFi Video Camera and the USB mains adapter. Do not leave the WiFi Video Camera unintended during operation. Keep packaging foil away from children. They could get caught in it during play and could suffocate. NOTE! Material damage! Incorrect use of the WiFi Video Camera can cause damages When installing and assembling the WiFi Video Camera ensure that a 10 cm gap is maintained on all sides in order to provide adequate ventilation. Ensure, in particular, that ventilation slots are not covered by newspaper, table clothes or curtains. Place the WiFi Video Camera on an easily accessible, level, dry, heat-resistant and sufficiently sturdy work surface. Do not place the WiFi Video Camera at the edge or periphery o the work surface. Avoid overheating by never positioning the WiFi Video Camera directly against a wall or underneath mounted cupboards. Never place the WiFi Video Camera on or near hot surfaces (e.g. stove tops, etc.). Ensure that mains cable does not come into contact with hot parts. Never expose the WiFi Video Camera to excessive temperatures (heating, etc.). Never pour liquid into the WiFi Video Camera. When cleaning, never immerse the WiFi Video Camera in water and do not use steam cleaner. The WiFi Video Camera could otherwise be damaged. Never place the WiFi Video Camera in dishwasher. This would destroy the WiFi Video Camera. 11

14 Safety Do not use the WiFi Video Camera if plastic or metal parts of the WiFi Video Camera show cracks or tears or are deformed. Replace damaged parts only with original spare parts. Damage to the electronics, lens or accessory caused by external influences such as impacts, falls or others are not covered by the warranty and are chargeable. The USB mains adapter is only suitable for internal use! External use of the USB mains adapter is not permitted. 12

16 Start Start Check content of the box Caution! WARNING! Keep plastic foil and bags away from babies and small children, as otherwise danger of suffocation. NOTE! Material damage! If the packaging is carelessly opened with a sharp knife or other pointed objects, the product can be easily damaged. Please open packaging carefully. 1. Check that delivery is complete (see Fig. A). 2. Remove the WiFi Video Camera from packaging and check whether the equipment or parts are damaged. If yes, do not use the WiFi Video Camera. Contact the service address of the manufacturer listed on the Warranty card. Preparing the WiFi Video Camera Remove packaging material and all protective foil. Installation of the WiFi Video Camera Install surveillance camera at a location offering a sturdy and level base. Or use the magnet in the base of the stand to stick the surveillance camera to a level metal surface. 14

17 Start NOTE! Material damage! Incorrect use of the WiFi Video Camera during assembly can cause damages. Do not place the WiFi Video Camera directly next to electronic devices as this could produce interference. In case of picture interference, test the WiFi Video Camera at another location. Select the installation site for the WiFi Video Camera so that the lens is not exposed to sun light. Aligning the surveillance camera Aim the WiFi Video Camera over the hinge in the pedestal to the desired position. Setting up the power supply Power is applied via the supplied USB cable and the included USB power adapter via the power feed. Connect the supplied USB power adapter to the supplied USB cable, then plug the USB power adapter into a power outlet. The camera is now connected to power. SET 15

18 Start Mounting the wall bracket Setting up the WiFi Video Camera via the app To set up the WiFi Video Camera, download the free application Maginon IPC Viewer from the App Store or from Google play and install it on your smartphone / tablet. 16

19 Open the App Maginon IPC Viewer. If you already have a user account with supra space, log in with your username and password in the app (Fig.1). You will see a list of all cameras that have been installed so far (Fig. 2). To add a new camera, click the "+" sign in the upper right corner. Fig.1 Start Fig.2 17

20 Start If you do not already have a supra space user account, click the "Not yet registered?" option on the home screen (Fig. 1) and create a new account (Fig. 3). The password must be at least 10 characters long and must contain uppercase letters, lower-case letters, special characters and numbers, such as "#Berlin123". Select "Register".You will receive a confirmation to your account. Open the and confirm the received link to activate the supra space account. On the following screen (Fig. 4), select the "+" symbol to set up a new camera. Fig.3 Fig.4 Now connect the camera to the USB power adapter and plug it into an easily accessible power outlet. 18

21 Start Now select the camera type to be installed (Fig. 5). To install the Maginon IPC 30 FHD, select the camera type "Indoor" and the following image (Fig. 6) "Maginon IPC-30FHD". Fig.5 Fig.6 To integrate the camera into your supra space account, press the reset button 14 of the camera for 15 seconds (Fig. 7). All LEDs on the front of the camera light up and the camera restarts. The app counts down (Fig. 8) and then automatically jumps to the next page (Fig. 9). After restarting, you need to connect your cell phone to your camera's WiFi network. To do this, select the option "Open Settings" (Fig. 9). 19

23 The network settings of your cell phone will open (Fig. 10). Connect your phone to the camera's WiFi "CamSetup-XXXXX" and return to the app. The configuration of the camera starts automatically (Fig. 11). Fig.10 Start Fig.11 21

24 Start After the camera searched for, the firmware checked, and the security settings are updated, you can give the camera a name for identification (Fig. 12). Then click "Continue". Fig.12 22

25 Now enter the WiFi key of the network in which the camera is to be operated (Fig. 13). Then click "Continue". You will be asked to reconnect your mobile device to your home WiFi network. Open your mobile device settings using the "Open Network Settings" option (Fig. 14) and connect the device to your home WiFi network. Fig.13 Start Fig.14 23

26 Start Now return to the Maginon app. The camera is reconfigured again (Fig. 15) and then restarts (Fig. 16). Fig.15 Fig.16 24

27 After the camera has been successfully set up, a list of all installed cameras will be displayed (Fig. 17). The Splitscreen option allows you to view a live image of all installed cameras (Fig. 18). Fig.17 Start Fig.18 25

28 Start To view the live image of a particular camera in full-screen mode (Fig. 19), click the camera in the list of single view or splitscreen view. In the splitscreen display, the image of the cameras is updated every 5 seconds! You can also change all camera settings using the "Maginon IPC Viewer" app. To do this, click on the gear icon in the top right corner of the full-screen display (Fig. 19) of the camera. The "Settings" menu opens (Fig. 20). For information on the individual setting options, refer to the manual in chapter Settings via supra space on page 32. Fig.19 Fig.20 26

29 Start Call the "supra space" Cloud You can also access the camera directly from a computer. To do this, open the following link in the Internet browser: or the Cloud start-page com. Log in with the user information you provided when you installed the camera through the app. The overview now lists all products of your IP camera. Select these to call up your camera. The following page then appears. 27

30 Start Use the camera via "supra space" Select the IPC-30 FHD. icon in the list to bring up the image of your Maginon Use in the list to go to the web interface of your camera. Log on with user name admin and without a password. You will then have access to all the settings of your Maginon IPC-30 FHD. 28

31 Use Call the WiFi Video Camera via the computer 1. First open your Browser program (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Google Chrome, Safari or similar). Next to it is the local IP address of the WiFi Video Camera. If you wish to access the WiFi Video Camera from a computer in the same network, you can also enter the local network address at this point. Use 2. To log in, enter the user name used during installation and the associated password. Next click on Log on. When using the WiFi Video Camera for the first time enter admin as User name and leave password field empty. This starts the operating and settings program of the WiFi Video Camera. 29

32 Use Setting up the WiFi Video Camera There are various elements and options for setting up the WiFi Video Camera. Some basic camera settings are shown below the camera image. The operating elements available and settings that can be changed depend on the authority of the user account. As an Administrator you have access to all settings. As an Operator you can set up the camera image but cannot change any settings. As an User you can only bring up the camera image but cannot change any settings. 30

33 Use Set camera settings Under View enter the settings for the camera image. Resolution: Here you can choose to display the image of the WiFi Video Camera in the resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels, 1280 x 720 pixels, 640 x 480 pixels or 320 x 240 pixels. Light frequency: Where the WiFi Video Camera is used in a room with neon lights, set the network frequency for the local power grid (50 Hz or 60 Hz) under this option. Where the WiFi Video Camera is used externally, select External use. Brightness: Specify a brightness value between 0 and 6. The higher the value, the brighter the camera image. Contrast: Specify contrast value between 0 and 6. The higher the value, the higher in contrast the camera image. Flip horizontally: Select this option to mirror the camera image horizontally. Flip vertically: Select this option to mirror the camera image vertically. Horizontal and vertical mirroring of the camera image can, for instance be used when the WiFi Video Camera is ceiling mounted. 31

34 Use Settings via supra space The below sections provide an overview of all possible options of the WiFi Video Camera. In case of problems during the installation or use or changing of the settings of the WiFi Video Camera, these sections contain information outlining the available options. 1. Open your Internet Browser and call up page Use your account name and password to log into supra space. 2. Select the camera whose settings are to be changed and click on the right option Settings. The desired settings category can now be selected. Setting the device status The device status provides information about current data and settings values of the WiFi Video Camera. Select symbol Device status from the below menu. 32

35 [...] Setting up the camera name You can assign a name to the WiFi Video Camera in order to for instance make it easier to find in the network or to allow a clear assignment where several WiFi Video Cameras are used. Use Select 2nd symbol Camera name from the below menu. Enter the desired name for the WiFi Video Camera in the text field and click on Save. The camera name may be composed of any characters and may be up to 20 characters long. Click on Save, to accept the changed settings. The camera name is saved without having to restart the WiFi Video Camera. 33

36 Use Setting current date and time Set the time zone of the WiFi Video Camera and whether date and time should be automatically updated via a so-called NTP server (Time server). The correct time is, for instance, required for planning alarms or FTP transfers. 1. Current date and time: This option shows the date and time as it saved in the WiFi Video Camera. This data is synchronized with the settings of the local system during saving. Where the option Synchronies with NTP Server is not selected, the date and time can be set with this function. 2. Time zone: Select the time zone in which the WiFi Video Camera is located. 3. Synchronizes with time server: Select this option if the date and time are to be automatically updated via an time server. 34

37 4. time Server: Select the time Server via which the date and time are to be updated from the specified list. You can also enter time servers by name or IP address that are not listed. Click on Save, to accept the changed settings. The changes are saved without having to restart the WiFi Video Camera. Setting up or changing user accounts and passwords You can set up anything up to 8 user accounts for the WiFi Video Camera. The WiFi Video Camera is then accessed via these user accounts. Open the option User accounts to change the standard password of the admin account. The admin account is shown. Enter the selected new password in the field Password and in the field Confirmation. The new password must consist of at least 10 and a maximum of 12 digits including upper and lower-case letters, numbers and special characters, such as e.g. Berlin#123. Next select option Save. Please note that the user name and user account admin cannot be deleted or renamed. To set up further user accounts, please proceed as follows: 1. Click on Add to create a new user account. 2. Enter the user name and password for the new account. The new password must consist of at least 10 and a maximum of 12 digits including upper and lower-case letters, numbers and special characters, such as e.g. Berlin# In order to delete a User account, click on Delete. Where a new User account has been accidentally deleted without having confirmed this by clicking on Save, you can select User accounts again to reinstate the account. Use 35

38 Use The following authorizations are available for a user account: 1. Visitor: Visitors can only call up the camera image but can not change any settings. 2. Operator: The user can call up the camera image. The settings cannot be changed. 3. Administrator: The user can change all settings. Click on Save, to accept the changed settings. You have to restart the WiFi Video Camera before the changes are saved in the user accounts. 36

39 Changing the network settings In order to connect the WiFi Video Camera to an existing network or a router, network settings must be entered. Use 1. Use DHCP: If your network allows automatic addition of a new device (Client). select this option. All required data are obtained directly from the server or router. 2. Web interface port: Connections in a network are made via socalled ports. Server and any connected device (Client) can operate via a different ports if the network address is identical. A standard value of 80 is specified for the WiFi Video Camera. Where necessary this can be changed in the area Where automatic acceptance of new devices is not supported by your router, please deselect Use DHCP. 37

40 Use Several new input fields appear. Manually enter the access data of your network. The required data can generally be called up from the computer via the network properties or can be obtained from the System Administrator of the network. 1. IP address: Enter an individual network address for the WiFi Video Camera. If, for instance, the network settings of the computer for Default Gateway (Standard gateway) is address , the address of the WiFi Video Camera must be x. 41 Use 2. Subnet mask: Generally, the value must be specified. 3. Standard gateway: Connection to standard gateway is used for connecting to the Internet. Generally this is the network address of the router. 4. DNS Server: The address of the so-called DNS or name server can be called up from the network settings of your computer. Generally this is the network address of the router. Click on Save, to accept the changed settings. You have to restart the WiFi Video Camera before the changes are saved in the network settings. 39

42 Use Wireless settings If the WiFi Video Camera is to be connected to a network using the wireless option WLAN (Wireless LAN), the required settings can be entered under this option. Select option Wireless settings from the bottom of the menu. 1. Use wireless LAN: Select this option if a wireless connection to the network is to be used. The configuration page of the router opens. All data required for the used wireless network are stored in the router or Access Point through which the network is controlled. Select the router or access point settings and open the wireless network settings. Further information of how you can find this data is provided in the manual of your router or is available from your System Administrator. 2. Network name (SSID): Enter the name of your wireless network (also referred to as SSID). 3. Region: Depending on the region, WLAN does not support various channels. Select the region in which the WiFi Video Camera will be used from this option. 40

43 4. Key: Data in wireless networks are in most cases transmitted encoded to prevent third-party access. State what type of encoding is used in your WLAN network. Use When Uncoded is selected, data are not encoded prior to transmission. When using WEP, WPA or WPA2 encoding, additional encoding information must be provided. Enter the same settings as shown for the router or access point. Enter wireless network settings without changing. This is the only way to ensure the correct connection of the WiFi Video Camera. Also, general settings of the router or access points should not be changed where this is not required. Otherwise this could result in problems with other WLAN devices in the network. Use the Search function to start an automatic search of existing wireless networks. Select the desired WLAN network from the list by marking it under Selection and click on Use. Where encoding data is required for the selected network, these must still be entered. Click on Save, to accept the changed settings. Next, restart the WiFi Video Camera to accept the changes. The restart takes about 2 minutes. 41

44 Use UPNP settings Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) is used for controlling devices via an IP-based network. Where the router supports UPnP and where this function is activated, the required Firewall settings are automatically selected. 1. Select option UPNP settings from the bottom of the menu. 2. Select Use UPNP, if UPNP is to be used for the connection of the WiFi Video Camera. Use UPNP is set as default. Click on Save, to accept the changed settings. The changes are saved without having to restart the WiFi Video Camera. 42

45 DDNS Settings The DDNS settings are not required for the correct operation of the security camera. The WiFi Video Camera can be used from anywhere using supra space. If you do, however, wish to use DDNS you can register a free Internet address. In your Internet Browser open page to register. Then enter the registered DDNS settings in the security camera. Mail settings In certain circumstances, the WiFi Video Camera can send out a alarm message by . For this purpose an account must be specified from which s will be sent out. A private address can, for instance, be used or you can set up a separate address for the WiFi Video Camera. Select option Mail settings from the bottom of the menu and select Use SMTP. Use 43

Port: Enter port of SMTP server. The standard value is Requires authentication: State whether the SMTP server requires authentication. Sender: State address via which an alarm message is to be sent. 6. Recipient 1-4: Provide up to 4 addresses via which an alarm message is to be sent. If you want to a message to be sent to the address, sending out the alarm messages, you have to enter the address also as recipient. 7. Send IP address: This option allows you to determine whether an will be sent with the current IP address of the surveillance camera to the listed addresses as soon as the IP address of the surveillance camera changes. Fields Server, Port, Sender and Recipient 1 are mandatory fields. Click on Test to test the settings. A test is then sent to the listed addresses. Click on Save, to accept the changed settings. The changes are saved without having to restart the WiFi Video Camera. 44

47 FTP settings The WiFi Video Camera offers the option to upload images to an FTP server once or regularly. Specify the required additional data for an FTP server to be used. 1. Select option FTP settings from the bottom of the menu and select Use FTP. Use 2. Activate Use FTP, if images of the WiFi Video Camera are to be uploaded to an FTP server. Server: Enter address of FTP server. Port (Control): Enter the port used for FTP-Server access. The standard value is 21. User name: Enter the name of a user account entitled to write to the FTP Server. Password: Enter password for User account. Transmission mode: Select whether a passive or active FTP connection is to be requested for the transfer. 45

48 Use Path: Enter the path under which images are to be stored on the FTP server. File name: Select this option if you wish to specify a file name. If this option has not been selected, a predefined file name will be used when saving the images. Upload in interval: Select this option if you wish images of the WiFi Video Camera to be uploaded to the FTP server at regular intervals. Interval (seconds): Specify at what intervals an image is to be taken and transferred. Values are in seconds. To test entries for the FTP settings, click on "Test. A single image is the transferred to the FT server. Click on Save, to accept the changed settings. The changes to the FTP settings are saved without having to restart the WiFi Video Camera. 46

49 Alarm settings Specify under which circumstances the WiFi Video Camera should issue an alarm message and what should be done in the event of an alarm. Select option Alarm settings from the bottom of the menu. Depending on the set options, the following will be displayed: Use 1. Motion detection (image): Select this option to activate motion sensing. Select the times during which the alarm settings should be active. 2. Sensitivity: Enter the sensitivity for movement sensing using a value between 0 and 9. The higher the value, the higher the movement sensing sensitivity. 3. Report to Activate this option if an is to be sent out in the event of an alarm. 4. Report to FTP: Activate this option if images are to be stored on the FTP server in the event of an alarm. 5. Duration (seconds): Activate this option if images are to be stored on the FTP server in the event of an alarm. Values are in seconds. 47

Use schedule: You can restrict the period of time during which alarms can be triggered. As soon as this option is selected, a schedule appears, in which the active times can be selected. Click on Save, to accept the changed settings. The changes to the alarm settings are saved without having to restart the WiFi Video Camera. Resetting the WiFi Video Camera Click on Reset now to reset the WiFi Video Camera to the default settings. Resetting takes 1 minutes. Wait until the Browser window shows the logging on option again. Please note that after resetting the camera, passwords are also reset to the default setting. To ensure data security enter password for the admin account during re-installation. 48

51 Use Selection of this function deletes all previous settings. If the network settings have been changed, the WiFi Video Camera may no longer be attainable under the current address. The WiFi Video Camera can be found again using the configuration program. The WiFi Video Camera can also be reset by pressing the RESET button (14) underneath the camera. Keep RESET button depressed for approx. 15 seconds. Restarting the WiFi Video Camera Click on Restart now to restart the WiFi Video Camera. This saves all entered settings. Resetting takes approx. 2 minutes. Wait until the Browser window shows the logging on option again. If the network settings have been changed, the WiFi Video Camera may no longer be attainable under the current address. The WiFi Video Camera can be found again using the configuration program. 49

52 Potential legal infringements Potential legal infringements Observe the following information for using the WiFi Video Camera: Copyright Generally every person owns his/her own image. According to the copyright law, images may only be published without the consent of the respective person if the person appears only as a person embellishment to a landscape image, or a location as a public place. The answer to the question of whether a person is embellished depends on the individual circumstances. For reasons of legal certainty persons should be informed in all cases in which images are taken with the WiFi Video Camera from which person can be identified see also section Duty of notification ). Protection of privacy Shown images may not infringe the privacy of others. Do not point the WiFi Video Camera onto the garden or entrance door of your neighbour, even if these locations are visible from your known home or public locations. This does not entitle you to publish respective photos or videos. Caution! NOTE! Please note that prior to handing over the WiFi Video Camera for. Repair or to third parties you should use the reset function (page 48 ) of the WiFi Video Camera to delete all personal data from the memory of the WiFi Video Camera. 50

53 Potential legal infringements Personal determinability Personal determinability exists, where it can be determined that a certain person was at a certain place at a certain time. The person can also be identified by a personal identifier such as a vehicle registration plate. Personal determinability of persons must be absolutely avoided. Surveillance cameras at the place of work Surveillance of workplaces is subject to particular strict regulations in Germany. Employers should not use the surveillance cameras at the place of work unless potential legal infringements can be fully excluded. Traffic surveillance cameras When using the surveillance cameras facing traffic, it is recommended to configure the location and view of the camera in such a way that road users are identifiable from any images through a vehicle registration plate. Road users could also be determined from lettering on vehicles. Duty of notification Where a personal identification of persons cannot be excluded, a clearly visible notice concerning the surveillance camera must be erected at all accesses to the monitored area. Passers-by must also be informed that by entering the monitored area they give their permission to pictures/videos being taken so that if they do not wish to give their consent they can avoid the picture/video being taken by not accessing the area. The voluntary nature of the declaration must be observed. If the camera trap is located at a point persons have to pass to reach their destination (e.g. entrance of a sight), no consent is deemed to have been given as no voluntary nature applies. 51
