4 Products UKRABRAZYV plant was established in December At that time, we mastered the manufacture of ТМ SPRUT-A cutting and grinding discs of UNIVERSAL series. In two years, based on our experts study of the experience of the world s leading manufacturers, integrating advanced technologies and continuous experiments we started manufacturing cutoff and ТМ TITAN ABRASIVE cutting and grinding disks of PROFESSIONAL series. 8 Production stages Bakelite-based cutting and grinding discs consist of a mix of corundum grids, bakelite, fillers and functional additives, reinforcing fiberglass mesh. The production process is divided into 4 stages: 1 Cutting 2 Preparing fiberglass mesh. Fiberglass mesh is cut on an automated line. The density of mesh is of 70 to 420 kg/m2. The density of mesh depends on the disc size and meets the requirements of DSTU GOST 21963:2003. abrasive blend. The abrasive blend is prepared in a two-container mixer. Materials are weighed using floor electronic weights with a limit of weighing of 100 kg. Weighted electrocorundum and liquid bakelite resin in amount according to the formula are put into container No. 1. Pulverbakelite, chalk, cryolite, pyrite, barite in amount according to the formula are put into container No. 2. The components are mixed in mixer No. 1 for a certain time and for a few minutes in mixer No. 2. Then the mix from mixer No. 1 is transferred to mixer 2 and is mixed for a while until its homogeneous. The mixture is unloaded through a vibratory sieve into a container and transported to the workshop. Then it is poured into special bins. 3 Molding and pressing. The forming mix passes through the sieve and goes to the molding line. With the help of dispenser, the mixture is put into a form with black paper (fabric) and reinforced mesh. The mixture is flattened; the reinforced mesh, label and landing ring are put on it then. After pressing, work pieces are stacked in cassettes with teflon linings and molded slabs between. Cassettes with work pieces are pressed with springs and fed into the furnace for bakelization. 4 Bakelization. Thermal treatment is carried out in a bakelizer, which is an electric batch-operated furnace. Cassettes with work pieces are loaded into the furnace where they are heat-treated at a temperature of C. The full cycle of bakelization is hours. After cooling the cassettes are disassembled. Discs are visually inspected and checked on test stands. After that, they are stacked in bundles and transferred for packaging. 5 Packing. After the visual inspection and quality control, discs are counted and packed into boxes. Boxes are marked with labels. The boxes are put into a heat-shrink film if needed.

16 General Information UKRABRAZYV offers flap discs for different purposes. The base of the disc is made of fiberglass. The working surface is fabric-backed a brasive material ( aluminum oxide-based abrasive of UNIVERSAL series, zirconium alumina-based abrasive of PREMIUM series, which allows to solve any of your tasks.) The range of the proposed types of abrasive grains allows to grind any surfaces from coarse surface treatment (grain size from 36) to finishing (grain size from 120). When using flap discs, you get a lot of advantages in terms of ergonomics comparing to grinding discs. Therefore, noise can be reduced twice when grinding, vibration can be reduced as well. In addition, flap discs are usually lighter and require less pressing. Due to these features, they contribute to a positive working climate, allow to work without fatigue and save health. Flap discs and grinding discs diameter is 125 mm, 150 mm and 180 mm (with a spindle of mm) for use on angle grinders. Depending on the nature of the application, you can choose between the flat and conical versions. 17 SAFETY NOTES Avoid incorrect use of cutting and grinding discs. Use hand grinders with discs reinforced with fiber. Do not use the angle grinder without a protective cover. The protective cover must be placed between the disc and the operator. This is necessary in case of destruction of the disc to protect the operator from pieces of the disc. Keep discs in dry places at room temperature. Keep away from rain, snow and do not use the tool in wet or damp areas. Do not use electric tools in areas where there is a risk of explosion or fire due to the presence of combustible materials, flammable liquids, paints, varnishes, gasoline, etc., aggressive environments, flammable gases and explosive dust. As a precautionary measure, it is advisable to consult a fire safety specialist regarding suitable fire extinguisher and methods of its use. Ensure good ventilation and wear suitable respiratory protection. Be sure to wear protective glasses and gloves. Failure to comply with this rule may result in sparks, abrasive dust, or even pieces of the disc getting in the eyes, which will lead to the serious damage. Use ear protectors. Use the tool for the intended purpose only. Do not use the tool for operations it was not designed for in the required capacity range (heavy work requires a tool designed for heavy working conditions, easy work requires a rather low-powered tool). Do not install damaged discs. Before you start, be sure to check the integrity of the abrasive disc it should not have even slightest cracks or chips. A disc that has been damaged (even if damages are invisible at first glance) as a result of a fall or impact cannot be used. This can lead to the destruction of the disc and cause injury. Use only those discs that are installed on the grinder spindle easily. The work piece you are working on must be securely fixed on the work surface. Hold the tool with two hands. It is necessary to use discs which correspond to hand grinder for all parameters: external diameter, thickness, spindle diameter. Avoid falling of tools and do not use their cables or air supply hoses as «handles». When grinder is touching the surface by gravity, cutting discs can easily break down. This is a common cause of discs breaking. When working with a disc, do not press on it from the side and avoid bending. Keep the hand grinder at the same angle while working. Follow the simplest rule: do the cutting - turn off the tool. It can be put on the table only after a complete stop of the disc. To avoid deformation, do not tighten the mounting nuts or mounting flanges too tightly. Never use damaged, contaminated flanges or flanges with bumps. Do not stop the disc rotation by pushing it towards the work piece by a lateral or end surface. To do this, always turn off the grinder and let the disc rotate freely by inertia until it stops. Do not rotate or press the disc during operation. Use grinders only in positions, in which you completely control the grinder and ensure its complete stability. Avoid excessive pressure on the disc, which can cause stops of grinder engine. 17

18 When metal is cut, the disc can be jammed. Hand grinder can push the work piece away or it can slip away. This can happen in a second so the operator should be ready for this situation and hold the grinder tightly. It happens with small grinders when the cutting or grinding goes on high-speed rotation. When cutting keep the disc straight, the pressure exerted on the disc should be only radial. When grinding the angle between the disc and grinding surface should be degrees or more. Do not exceed the maximum revolutions per minute.
