2 Features The Jewll Industries camera system consists of various equipment that can vary to the customer s specific requirements. These include most of the following items: A flameproof camera housing fitted with a FLIR PathFindIR camera A trailing cable fitted to the back of the housing to customer s specified length for wiring purposes A flameproof monitor housing, fitted with a monitor/screen to display the camera footage Alternatively, a dashboard of a machine can be fitted with a monitor and the camera can be wired to it Custom designs can also be done to house both the camera and monitor according to client specification Why choose the Jewl flameproof camera system? With the FLIR PathFindIR installed as a standard item in all of our camera products, we offer a compact thermal imaging camera that significantly reduces the hazards of driving in places with little to no visibility. It enables drivers to see much further, with improved clarity, compared to standard vision or headlights. Drivers can detect and monitor people passing by a vehicle, animals, or objects on or near the road, allowing more time to react to any potential danger. The PathFindIR camera helps to detect and recognize potential hazards in total darkness, smoke, rain and even snow. Overview

3 Excellent image quality The PathFindIR incorporates an uncooled 320x240 pixels micro bolometer. This maintenance free system delivers crisp video images which can be displayed on virtually any display that accepts composite video. Wide-angle lens The PathFindIR is equipped with a 19-mm wide-angle lens. It gives you an extremely wide field of view (36 ), resulting in excellent situational awareness. Designed for use in harsh conditions The PathFindIR combined with the complete flameproof enclosure is extremely rugged. Its vital core is well protected against humidity and water. The PathFindIR camera itself operates between -40 C and +80 C. The camera also has a built-in heater to defrost its protective window. The heater is capable of defrosting a 2-mm layer of ice frozen to the window within 15 minutes when ambient temperature is -30 C and wind speed against the window is 100 km/h. The heater is automatically powered when the window temperature is less than +4 C and powered down when the window temperature is more than +6 C. This ensures a clear lens and perfect infrared images displayed on your monitor even in extremely cold environments. Why we use it

4 Thermal imaging for driver vision enhancement Thermal imaging is a powerful driver s vision enhancement system, which significantly reduces the risks of driving in the dark or in places with low visibility and allows you to see up to five times further than with conventional headlights. It produces clear images in total darkness, smoke, rain and light fog. It needs no light whatsoever to operate. Thanks to thermal imaging, drivers can more quickly detect and recognize potential hazards and avoid deadly accidents. Why we use it

With the DVR unit installed alongside our camera products, you can track, record and monitor wherever the camera goes. With built-in 3G and WiFi capabilities, you can log into the unit at any given time and check the status of the vehicle, the area in which it is driving, the speed the vehicle is travelling at as well as live video feedback from the cameras. The DVR unit also records all video footage onto a built-in hard drive which can be extended by means of additional external hardware. This can later be downloaded and reviewed. Manitou has recently started converting their Telescopic Handlers to those of flameproof versions and has chosen to standardise on the Jewll Industries camera system complete with the FLIR PathFindIR. By making use of this system, they ensure that their drivers have full visibility at all times while driving, even when the machine has been put in reverse. The Manitou machine houses a unique 2-way camera (one facing forward and another facing backward) that automatically shifts according to the direction the driver is currently moving. The thermal images are then fed back into the cab of the machine and displayed on a monitor in a custom-built flameproof dashboard. With this unique system, the driver will not only be able to see exactly where he is going, but he will also be able to detect potential hazards and avoid them by early spotting.
