Because every user has specific requirements on their system, the Oqus camera is available in many models and configurations. A reliable and versatile motion capture camera. In addition to calculating marker positions, the Oqus cameras also have the ability to record calibrated high-speed, highresolution video 1. Camera model overview The key hardware component in Qualisys motion capture systems is the Oqus camera. We know that everyone has specific requirements on their system, which is why the Oqus camera is available in many models and configurations to make sure it fits your particular needs. 4 Page 3 / 9 General System Overview An advanced CMOS camera; is the core of our optical tracking systems. The recently released Oqus motion capture camera - is the third generation of high-quality cameras from Qualisys; built on the proven and unique concept of real-time marker calculation, inside the camera. The second part of our motion capture system is our Qualisys Track Manager (QTM) software, which provides an easy-to-use Windows interface, to record and calculate real-time 2D, 3D and 6-DOF motion data. Using data from two or more cameras, the system calculates the 3D positions of the markers or 6-DOF motion. The cameras can be used with a desktop or a laptop. Oqus communicates with the host computer via a single Ethernet cable. The cameras are daisy-chained and no additional hub is needed to link them together (although they can also be configured in a network). There is a wireless communication option, via an internal WLAN, at up to 54 Mbps. The system is easy to set up, consisting only of the cameras connecting to a host PC. 5 Page 4 / 9 Qualisys Track Manager QTM Qualisys Track Manager makes it easy and straightforward to collect data from your motion capture system. The software integrates with force plates, EMG and a number of other devices and allows you to measure indoor or outdoor, in-air or underwater, passive or active all in one uniform and consistent user experience. Force plates, EMG & other external equipment QTM supports all major force plates and EMG systems used in biomechanics research. The Noraxon and Mega EMG systems have dedicated drivers within QTM. In addition, QTM has integrated support for a 64-channel A/D interface (several such units can be used together in order to increase the channel count). Through the A/D interface, basically any type of signal can be acquired synchronously with motion data. Qualisys Track Manager can capture video from DV cameras, webcams and via HDMI input (required PCI Express card). High-speed video can be captured from Oqus cameras.

6 Page 5 / 9 Options: QTM Project Automation Framework PAF Qualisys offers Project Automation Framework (PAF) for QTM is a customizable infrastructure that lets you automate repetitive tasks in your workflow. Analyze a series of captures and create reports with the click of a button. Being fully customizable, PAF is the ultimate workflow tool for serious mocap users. Options: Biomechanical analysis with C-Motion, Visual 3D Software Qualisys offers advanced biomechanical analysis software, for use in both clinical and research studies. We have real-time identification in QTM with export to Visual3D - for real-time analysis. Options: QTM Plugins QTM makes it possible for users to add different plugin s from Qualisys. We offer MotionBuilder, Matlab, Simulink and LabVIEW plugin. The interface enables the user to use a real-time stream of motion capture data. All data types in QTM is available, which include linearized 2D, linearized 2D, unidentified 3D, identified 3D, 6DOF, analog and force data. Calibration Dynamic wand calibration is a flexible calibration method for different measurement volumes and includes two calibration objects. One is a stationary L-shaped reference structure, with four markers attached to it. The stationary L-structure defines the origin and orientation of the camera system. The other calibration object is called, the calibration wand. It consists of two markers located a fixed distance from each other.

7 Page 6 / 9 This object is moved in the measurement volume during seconds, to determine the locations and orientations of the cameras. Passive and Active Markers Qualisys offers the only system on the market that can measure passive / active markers and highspeed video, with the same cameras. Indoor or outdoor The Oqus 300+, Oqus 500+ and the Oqus 700+ camera supports active filtering, in which the background is subtracted from each image. This dramatically increases the ability to capture passive markers in an outdoor environment. Accuracy With a measuring volume of m Spatial accuracy 2 3 : ± 0.25 mm Angular accuracy: ± 0.05 degree 2 Accuracy is defined as the maximum length deviation of the 1000 mm long object with a rigid body on each moved in all of the specified measurement volume. 3 Actual specification may vary depending on measurement situation, hardware configuration, ambient conditions etc. Data Output There are three alternatives to data output, 2D or 3D tracking, which tracks each marker separately and creates trajectories of the marker motion. The third is 6DOF tracking, which locates the position and orientation of one or more rigid bodies in the measurement volume.

8 Page 7 / 9 Real-Time Output in 3D and 6DOF The Qualisys real-time function is included in the Qualisys Track Manager (QTM) software (at no extra charge). With the real-time output function, an additional computer receives data in real-time, over a TCP/IP connection. The QTM system delivers 1 frame (4ms) virtually latency, (the time delay between the moment something is initiated, and the moment one of its effects begins). Data can also be saved for future analysis and export. This function allows real-time, on-screen analysis as data is collected. External Trigger Signals Three different types of external triggers come as a standard function in QTM. The trigger input signal is a TTL signal and active low, the cameras start on the first image exposure at 550 µs, after the falling edge. Input signal of the external synchronization is a TTL signal and active low. The image exposure of the cameras starts at 440 µs, after the falling edge of this input signal. Output signal of the external synchronization is a TTL signal and active low. The falling edge coincides with each exposure initialization. The actual image exposure of the camera, is delayed by 400 µs, with respect to the exposure initialization. Post Processing Data Export Formats QTM has three default data export formats: TSV, C3D and direct export to Matlab. For additional formats, please contact Qualisys.

Installation and Training: If training and installation is a request, this will take place at the lab-site, with the staff, on consecutive days. Site license for QTM Regarding the software license, we have an unrestricted departmental license, (no Dongles, unlimited department users, including permission for a local network). Warranty Qualisys provides a warranty to protect its customers from defects in product workmanship or product materials. The warranty covers all products manufactured by Qualisys. Qualisys warrants that the equipment purchased will be free from any defects in material and/or workmanship under normal operating conditions, for a period of 24 months from the date of shipment. Qualisys Software & Support Contract The contract covers free unlimited technical support by or telephone, free downloads of QTM software upgrades, support on issues with all Qualisys hardware and upgrades on firmware. Qualisys undertaking does not include any installation or implementation services in connection with supply of patches, upgrades or new releases or any other services or cost, related to installation procedures or use of hardware or software.
