5 ASPEC RAIO he aspect ratio defines the ratio of the width to the height of an image or screen. 4:3 SDV/Video 16:9 HDV, Widescreen SDV Image outputs in a square. his means for 4:3 compatible cameras, you wouldn t want a widescreen monitor because it wouldn t fill up the entire screen. Projected image fills a widescreen monitor. UROLOGY Specially designed to enhance the tasks for a urology surgeon, this camera is designed at a 90 degree angle to allow it to easily hang downward on the human anatomy. 7 ERMINOLOGY AUOCLAVABLE o be able to withstand the action of an autoclave. An autoclave is a pressure chamber used to sterilize equipment and supplies by subjecting them to high pressure steam. CCD CCD stands for charge-coupled device. It is a light-sensitive circuit that stores and displays the data for an image by converting pixels into an electrical charge and relating that charge to a color in the color spectrum. INERLACED SCAN Lines of an image on the screen are drawn in one at a time. DID YOU KNOW? he first endoscopy camera was invented in 1962 by George Berci. he first iteration only output images in black and white. William Chang would go on to invent the first 1-chip solid state camera in 1982 and soon thereafter, the 3-chip camera. In 1986 he joined Stryker Endoscopy. PROGRESSIVE SCAN Lines of an image on the screen are drawn in sequentially as opposed to one at a time in interlaced scanning.
