2 GigE Vision Lineup Amazon Series IMI s Amazon Family of cameras is compliant with both Gigabit Ethernet and with the GigE Vision standard. Fairly new in the image processing industry, GigE is gaining more interest thanks to users who are familiar with the Ethernet interface and technology. This new interface is expected to lift the barriers of bandwidth limitation found in other interfaces such as FireWire and USB 2.0. It also resolves the limitation of cable length by supporting 100 meter distance with conventional CAT-5 cable.the new GigE vision camera not only supports the traditional Machine Vision applications; but it also supports intelligent traffic systems, medical imaging, high-tech security and more. As GigE is a relatively new standard, we expect more and more customers to demand new and additional feature support. We also expect a growing desire for software interoperability due to GigE s excellent network interface capability. This approach will provide IMI with the intellectual freedom to fully meet our customer s requirements. We have designed our Amazon GigE series with an interesting array of image sensors to support non-traditional vision applications. 4 FireWire Camera Lineup Overview FireWire Camera Family With the IMI FireWire family of cameras, the world of digital image processing has just become easier and a lot more flexible. There are four different versions of FireWire cameras based on the housing; and various features to satisfy the most demanding image processing applications. Our multi-series digital camera product line employs a wide variety of Aptina(Micron) and Sony CCD and CMOS sensors that offer a vast combination of resolutions, frame rates, form factors and communication protocols. This is in direct response to the diversity of requirements that our customers must implement among many disparate applications. Add excellent quality, comprehensive hardware and software support and an attractive price / performance to the equation and you have a superior digital camera offering. New Addition Prompted by market demand, we have added the new Nile Series with a built in Auto-Iris function; and we have added to the Pearl Series a new lineup of very cost effective cameras with Aptina(Micron) CMOS image sensors. General Feature IMI s FireWire Family of cameras offers a choice between the smaller Han and Nile compact housing, and the Pearl s ultra compact 29x29x39mm housing with a C/CS mount connection. The large selection of different CCD and CMOS Sony and Aptina(Micron) sensors (1/3, 1/2, 1/1.8, 2/3 ) with resolutions of VGA, WVGA, SVGA, XGA, SXGA, UXGA, QXGA, SUXGA and frame rates from 10 FPS at SUGA to 86 FPS at VGA providing maximum flexibility for every application. General features include user control of Trigger & Strobe, Brightness, Gain, Gamma, Shutter, Sharpness, Hue, Saturation and a one-push White Balance for easy color balancing. One shot, Multi-shot, Multi-camera Auto Sync and Multiple Exposure are supported, as well as SIO Pass-through and True Fast Partial Scan. The cameras provide horizontal and vertical binning, electronic shutter speeds from 1 usec ~ 3600 sec. and a Signal to Noise in excess of 56 db. There is a continuous test pattern image for testing and development and a configurable strobe pattern output. Embedded frame information includes a timestamp and a frame counter. NILE series cameras provide excellent image quality, color rendition and a compact form factor, which afford versatility when space and weight are important considerations of an application. The IMX-5120FT camera in particular has excellent spectral sensitivity for broad-spectrum illumination. The Nile cameras are also among the few digital cameras that support an Auto Iris under DC control. Extended cable length limitation The IEEE1394 interface standard specifies a limited cable length of 4.5 meters. IMI s optical repeater solution covers a distance of up to 1,000 meters between IMI FireWire Family Cameras and PC. The data communication speed reaches 800/400 Mbps depending on the IEEE1394 a./b. standard.
