Try to find at least three different points of interest at varying distances from the camera. For example, a photo of a garden could include flowers close to the ground, a hedge behind them, and a tree in the background. This approach offers maximum depth while still focusing on the primary subject of the shot. Background Middle Ground Close to camera

3 2 Stay still. Static subjects will look the best in 3D. Consider this more of a guideline than a rule. As with 2D photography, moving subjects are more difficult to focus on and light properly. For ideal results in 3D, this becomes even more important. Remember, the best way to capture motion is with motion! So if you are shooting something on the move, take advantage of the Finepix Real 3D W3 high definition video recording to capture it all in 720p 3D video! 3 Know your foreground. Consider the foreground as the starting line for establishing depth in your 3D image. It gives the human eye an anchor-point from which to begin. The foreground in your shot can be powerful or subtle. Imagine a statue in an open plaza or a thin tree branch. Either could be the basis for a stunning 3D shot. Just be careful to not let your foreground overpower the frame of the shot or it will be difficult to establish depth in your photo. Foreground starting line

It can act as the canvas for your foreground subject or it can create space and infinite depth. First let s talk about the background as a canvas. Imagine a shiny new bike in front of an older brick wall. The wall will compliment the bike by establishing tone and contrast. Backgrounds can also create an infinite space that will look amazing in 3D. Picture a lone cactus with an open desert as the background. Now you have a larger scale 3D effect compared to the bike and the wall. 5 3D is all depth. Unique angles and multiple points of interest at varying distances will create the depth you will need for stunning 3D photography. Always look for at least 2 points of interest - foreground and subject or subject and backgroundwhen composing a shot. 5 6 Get to know your sweet spot! It is important to shoot your main subject at the right distance for the best possible 3D effect. Ideally you should be at least 4-5 feet from the subject. That s the 3D sweet spot. If your subject falls outside of the sweet spot, either too close or too far away, take advantage of the Advanced 3D modes to capture just the right 3D effect. Individual Shutter 3D allows you to capture one eye at a time, while Interval Shutter 3D captures each eye in a preset interval, one at a time. These settings can be very useful in capturing just the right 3D effect. For more information on how these settings work, refer to your instruction manual. 7 3D is still photography. Don t forget that many of the basic rules of photography still apply to 3D shooting. Master the fundamentals first, and then work on the nuances of 3D photography.
