The DT570 is fully customizable with a wide range of business accessories. User interface The user interface of the DT570 has been aligned with Ericsson s cellular phones, including the usage of the Yes and No keys for Off-hook and Onhook, and the entries used in the menus. Off-hook and On-hook symbols have been added to the Yes and No keys for clarity. End-users who already own an Ericsson cellular phone or an Ericsson DT368 are immediately familiar with the user interface of the DT570. Endusers that use both an Ericsson cellular phone and a DT570 will enjoy the benefit of a consistent user interface. Special features in the user interface The Teleservice menu (as implemented in the DT368) has been renamed to the Divert menu, to make its purpose more intuitive to the end-user. The user can easily select the divert action in the Divert menu, from a list of pre-programmed divert codes. Divert actions can be given any appropriate name that the end-user can easily identify. The benefit of the divert menu is that end-users do not need to memorize any more the divert codes, and that end-users spend less time on controlling the status of their extension. In addition, the enterprise will enjoy a better reachability for it's customers, because staff will now be more readily inclined to use the proper diversion codes. Mute and R function are directly accessible, avoiding complex menu access handling, and reducing the time needed to transfer a call or to consult a colleague. The user interface has a submenu for message handling. Through the submenu, end-users can easily identify which type of new message has arrived (voice or text) in case both voice mail and text messages are supported by the network, easily dial the number corresponding to the voice mail box, and access the 10 last arrived text messages. 2 Page 2 of 4 The DT570 is delivered with a Quick Reference Guide (in 11 languages: Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish and Swedish) and a graphical Assembly Instruction. An extensive end user guide is available on the Internet in the same 11 languages. See: Features Phone Book Phone numbers with accompanying names can be stored. There are 100 entries for user definable names and numbers and up to 1000 entries can be downloaded in the flash memory with the Cordless Phone Manager. With the phone book, end-users can quickly retrieve and dial phone numbers, and do not need to carry around a separate phone directory. Dialled Number List There is also a Dialled Number list which contains the last 15 dialled numbers. End users can quickly redial by selecting an entry from the Dialled Number list, and do not need to look up a phone number twice. Call Timer Call time information is shown after the end of a call. The phone stores the duration of the last call and the total time of all calls. Languages The menu of the DT570 supports the following 19 languages: Croatian Czech Danish Dutch English Estonia Finnish French German Greek Hungarian Italian Malay Norwegian Polish Portuguese Spanish Swedish Turkish The language can be selected by using the Settings menu. End users can use the phone in their own local language, reducing the time needed to become familiar with the DT570. Settings Preference settings include key click sound, discrete ringing, ringer melody selection, key lock, language, display contrast and display back-light. Cordless Network Dependent Functions Text messages The DT570 cordless phone has the possibility to receive real-time, instantaneous text messages. The DT570 receives text messages even during a call or when the DT570 has been diverted. With text messages, the end-user can be reached 100% of the time, anywhere on his premises. An envelope icon on the display is used to indicate that a new text message has arrived. The 10 most recently received messages are stored in memory. Each message can consist of up to 140 characters. A stored message can be recalled and displayed at any time. CLIP Calling Line Identification Presentation lets you see who is calling. If the cordless network supports Calling Line Identification, the DT570 presents the number of the caller on the display. You can see who is calling before answering the call, and decide on the spot whether or not to answer the call, even when you are busy. CNR Calling Name/Number Recognition shows the name of the calling party on the display when this name and number are stored in the cordless phone's phone book. Seeing the name instead of a number in the display makes it easier to decide whether or not to answer the call. WhoCalled and Missed Call list The DT570 contains a Who Called list for the last 5 answered calls/numbers. You can dial back easily the last 5 persons you have been speaking to on the phone, and you reduce the need to look up phone numbers again and again. The DT570 also contains a Missed Call list for the last 10 unanswered calls. In case the user missed any calls, this is shown immediately on the display, and you can select the name or number from the list to dial back. The Missed Call list will increase the efficiency in the organization, reduce turn-around time for questions, and increase customer satisfaction. COLP Connected Line Presentation (COLP) shows the extension number of the party the call is connected to, during an outgoing call. You can see immediately if the person you are trying to reach has diverted to another extension, and decide to stop the call when you want to speak only to that specific person in question. You will waste less time in case that person will not answer anyway. In case the name of the COLP number is present in the phone book, the name will be shown instead of the number. RLIP Redirected Line Information Presentation (RLIP) shows the extension number from which the call is being redirected during an incoming call set-up. This feature makes it easier for example for a secretary to answer a redirected phone call in the name of somebody else, and avoids confusion with the other party when answering the call.

3 Page 3 of 4 MWI The DT570 cordless phone supports Message Waiting Indication (MWI) following the CAP standard. Message Waiting Indication shows an envelope icon in the display when you have a new message in the voice mail box. You know immediately when somebody left a voice mail for you, and the response time to voice mail messages will go down, resulting in improved efficiency and customer satisfaction. Time & Date Time and Date are shown when the DT570 is in idle mode, and time and date information is added to the WhoCalled list. Not only can you see whether somebody tried to reach you (and you did not answer), you will also know the time and date this occurred, and decide beforehand whether it is necessary to call back. Idle & In-Call Display The DT570 supports idle- and in-call display functionality. On certain cordless networks, these features are used to show the status of the extension, both in idle mode, and when making a phone call. You will notice immediately when the phone is still diverted and you forgot to reset the divert. You will be able to easier manage the reachability. Connectors The DT570 has a connector for charging and for accessories, e.g. a headset. Batteries and charging The DT570 is standardly equipped with a Slim Nickel Metal Hydride battery (NM6066 NiMH 650mAh). The DT570 can also be equipped with the Ultra Slim Battery NM6080 NiMH 800mAh. The DT570 can be charged both when switched on or off. End-users can leave their cordless phone overnight in a charging facility, without disturbing other employees with ringing signals. The DT570 can be charged via: Travel charger Desk top charger (Travel charger is required) DS600 Docking Station Limitations The DT570 Cordless Phone has not been designed for outdoor use, extremely heavy use or extreme climates. The DT570 should not be used in an environment where intrinsically safe devices are required. The DT570 Cordless Phone cannot be used in other frequency bands than MHz. USA, China, Thailand, and Latin America are not supported by the DT570. The DT570 will support text messaging only when using Messaging Applications in combination with BusinessPhone release R12, and the existing DCT1800 GAP R2.0 system.

NiMH batteries are more environment-friendly than NiCd batteries. Another advantage with the NiMH batteries is that they are not memory effected, and therefore don t need to be discharged before recharging. With this battery mounted the phone is very light. The battery is delivered with a belt clip. The belt clip can be fixed on the battery. At the same time the desktop charger functions as a desktop stand. Putting the cordless phone into the desktop charger automatically starts charging. A second battery can be charged simultaneously. The desktop charger has 2 LEDs to inform about the charging process. It provides full handsfree calling with excellent sound quality. The portable handsfree consists of a small earplug and a microphone on a cord with an audio plug that plugs directly into the phone connector. In combination with the auto-answer feature of the DT570, full hands free answering is provided. In combination with the auto-answer feature of the DT570, full handsfree answering is provided. The headset comes together with a headband, an ear hook and ear loops of different sizes. These parts, for wearing the headset, can be used in various combinations and can make the headset suitable for left-handed or right-handed operation. Thus, a user can fully customize the headset to his/ her own preferences. The headset can be easily connected to the phone connector. No adapter is required. The headset cord can be fastened to the user s clothing with a clip, to avoid the cord swinging free. A noise cancelling microphone has been used to ensure excellent speech quality, even in noisy environments. To optimize the sound quality puff protection can be used. The magnetic phone holder is secured with double-sided adhesive tape on a flat surface. This can be a desktop, a cupboard, a cable duct, etc. The phone can be secured on this phone holder by clicking the phone battery on it. The battery contains metal and therefore the magnetic phone holder can hold the phone. Removing the phone from the phone holder is of course very easy. The magnet is very strong so the phone is securely held.
