The functions of the Council are as follows: to establish, monitor, and revise requirements for certification to continue research efforts relating to the certification of public buyers and procurement officers to coordinate with other NIGP and NASPO programs in order to further the certification of public procurement officers to do all things necessary and proper to promote and insure professionalism in public procurement 4 2

College Coursework Courses for credit: acquisition, business ethics, business law, commercial law, contracting, distribution, ethics, finance, inventory, legal, logistics, management, material, negotiation, organization, personnel, procurement, purchasing, supplier, supply chain, supply, transportation. Continuing Education (accredited) include formal coursework taken at the higher education level and seminars, courses, training events, etc. offered by other types of education providers Continuing Education (non accredited) education activities that are not accredited or for attendance to conferences, meetings, events, etc. 15 Certification: When? 10 To become certified by the UPPCC, all individuals must complete the following steps: Check eligibility & requirements Complete the Application form and return it Allow four (4) to six (6) weeks for the UPPCC to review of the application Upon notification of eligibility pay the examination fee Schedule a testing appointment directly with Prometric Complete the appropriate examination Allow six (6) to eight (8) weeks following the end of the testing window for results, After meeting eligibility & examination requirements, recertify every five (5) years in order to maintain CPPO/CPPB certified status. 19 Certification Fees 20 10
