3 Department History Gujarat University understands the need of the hour & acted upon for giving bright future to young generation. By identifying promising sectors and putting together potent syllabi, University has started this department in 2010 with a roster of full-time courses in association with India's best-known industry experts that equip the student with the skills that tomorrow's industry is crying for today. All our Courses like IT Infrastructure Management Services (IMS), Mobile Application Development, Cloud Technology, Information Security, Graphic Design & Animation are prepared by industry professionals. With a choice of these five different courses and subject matter specialists, that equip students with just the skills that tomorrow's industry will call for. This department have conducted various activities for overall development of students like cultural, social, sports, academics etc. Overall students have pass out from the department in last 6 years and placed in the prominent organizations at key positions. 5 IT Infrastructure Management Services For an organization's information technology, infrastructure management (IM) is the management of essential operation components, such as policies, processes, equipment, data, human resources, and external contacts, for overall effectiveness. Infrastructure management is sometimes divided into categories of systems management, network management, and storage management. While Indian software engineers were building and maintaining the code for MNCs all over the world, working on the offshore model, the actual implementation and management of application was still in the hands of direct hires on-site which consisted of Admin for Operating Systems eg Unix and Windows, Network Admin, Database Admin, Production Support Techies as well as Change Management and Enterprise Server Management professionals. Slowly Indian IT companies showed their service delivery capabilities by taking over these Admin tasks for Development and QA Servers. As they won the trust of the client's Indian IT Companies opened up ercely to take the entire Infrastructure Services in a storm. The various technologies available are. 1. 6 Cyber Security: Cyber security or information technology security are the techniques of protecting computers, networks, programs and data from unauthorized access or attacks that are aimed for exploitation. Major areas covered in cyber security are: 1.Application Security: Some basic techniques used for application security are: a) Input parameter validation, b) User/Role Authentication & Authorization, c) Session management, parameter manipulation & exception management, and d) Auditing and logging. 2.Information Security: Major techniques used to cover this are: a) Identi cation, authentication & authorization of user, b) Cryptography. 3.Disaster recovery: Disaster recovery planning is a process that includes performing risk assessment, establishing priorities, developing recovery strategies in case of a disaster. 4.Network Security: Network security components include: a) Anti-virus and anti-spyware, b) Firewall, to block unauthorized access to your network, c) Intrusion prevention systems (IPS), to identify fast-spreading threats, such as zero-day or zero-hour attacks. d) Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), to provide secure remote access.

Companies offering these Technology services are called cloud Computing providers and typically charge for services based on usage, similar to how you are billed for water or electricity at home. Skills Required Cloud computing comprises of several roles. These could be related to management, IT systems, end user support, application development, business analysis, network, security and web development. Every role requires speci c skills. Here's a compilation of all the skills required to explore the world of Cloud Computing. Technical Skills - Knowledge of HTML, PaaS (Platform as a Service), Cloud Computing Basics like Virtualization technologies (like VMWare), OOPS and programming languages like Java, C++,.Net etc. Business and Financial Skills Knowledge of business case, online marketing strategies and nancial terminologies like ROI (Return on Investment). Project Management Negotiating with the clients and having knowledge of risk analytics, service agreements and policies. Data Integration and Analysis Having knowledge of database, data mining and ERP system (Enterprise Resource Planning). Security - Having knowledge of internet security, encryption, authorization and security protocols.
