KEY-PLUG ifeatures (MLFB 6GK PA00) and KEY-PLUG W740 ifeatures (MLFB 6GK PA00) are supported on SCALANCE W774-1 RJ45, SCALANCE W734-1 RJ45 and SCALANCE W774-1 M12 EEC. Additional DFS channels in 5GHz frequency band for SCALANCE W780 are approved for USA, Canada, Colombia, Peru, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Singapore and Uruguay. New countries approvals were added to the country list, detailed information can be found in the respective countrylist, which is included in the download file. 13 4.2. New Functions "Inter AP Blocking" in the Access Point (only configurable in CLI). Inter AP Blocking enables a restriction of the communication of the clients connected to the Access Point. Only those devices are accessible to the clients that have been explicitly configured in the Access Point. The communication with other parties in the network is thus prevented - This function is only available in conjunction with a KEY-PLUG W780 ifeatures (article no. 6GK PA00) or KEY-PLUG W700 Security (article no. 6GK PA00). SCALANCE W700 units can be used as PNIO Device in STEP 7. They are included in the Hardware Catalog of STEP 7 version V13 Update 3 + HSP0107 and higher; alternativly you can use a GSDML file in the unit for download. The Ethernet interface can be configured with STEP 7; furthermore, the PNIO diagnostic functions can also be used. The WLAN interface cannot be configured using STEP 7. Support of tags (identification transponders) of the AeroScout company. The message frames transmitted by the tags will be passed on by the SCALANCE W700 Access Points to a target computer with AeroScout software. The AeroScout software will evaluate the information and can respond, if necessary (e.g. localization of persons in mining applications). For further information please read the documentation of the AeroScout Company ( This function is only available in conjunction with a KEY-PLUG W780 ifeatures (article no. 6GK PA00). Use of the signal recorder in the Client module or Device Mode "Client" also via WBM Automatic changeover to daylight saving time and normal time can be configured (Daylight Saving Time/DST) iref (industrial Range Extension Function) is also supported by SCALANCE W This function is only available in conjunction with a KEY-PLUG W780 ifeatures (article no. 6GK PA00). The voltage supply via Power over Ethernet (PoE) can now be monitored (Fault Monitoring > Power Supply). This function is only available in devices that support Power over Ethernet (PoE). Name resolution via DNS (DNS Resolver) is supported with the following functions: SMTP Client, DHCP, SNMP Traps, Radius Server, Syslog Client Display of the IP Mapping Table in the Client Module or Device Mode "Client". The table shows the assignment of MAC address and IP address which the Client uses to despatch incoming IP message frames to the correct MAC address (Information > WLAN). 16 5.2. New Functions DHCP Server in the client: Clients of the SCALANCE W700 series, or Access Points which are operated in client mode, have a DHCP server. This server does the address allocation for devices behind a client which is operated as NAT Gateway (except W721-1 RJ45, article no. 6GK5721-1FC00-0AA0/ article no. 6GK5721-1FC00-0AB0 and W761-1 RJ45, article no. 6GK5761-1FC00-0AA0/ article no. 6GK5761-1FC00-0AB0). ipcf-mc: ipcf was developed to achieve short handover times when changing between radio cells (Roaming). However, the performance of ipcf is best only with RCoax cables. The ipcf-mc procedure, on the other hand, ensures short handover times even in the case of freely moving clients and many cells, or a large no. of used channels. ipcf-mc makes different use of the two radio interfaces of the Access Point: One interface works as management interface and transmits Beacons; the other interface transmits the user data; - this function is only available in conjunction with a KEY-PLUG W780 ifeatures (article no. 6GK PA00) or W740 ifeatures (article no. 6GK PA00) Note: If the function ipcf-mc is used, only devices with two WLAN interfaces can be used as Access Points. In view of the increasing security requirements both ipcf and ipcf-mc only use the AES encryption procedure. As from version V the WEP encryption procedure can no longer be configured. Note: Existing installations that make use of the unsafe WEP encryption procedure should be adapted to the AES encryption procedure. This adaptation is definitely required before updating the firmware to V Extension of the Ethernet statistics in the WBM: The counters of the IF-MIB (iftable>ifentry) will be displayed. Inter AP Blocking in the Access Point can now also be configured in the WBM: Inter AP Blocking can be used to restrict the communication of the clients connected to the Access Point. Only those devices are accessible to the clients which have been explicitly configured in the Access Point. Any communication with other subscribers in the network will be prevented - This function is only available in conjunction with a KEY-PLUG W780 ifeatures (article no. 6GK PA00) or KEY-PLUG W700 Security (article no. 6GK PA00). Adaptation to the European guidelines EN V1.8.1: Adaptation Adaptivity / Blocking in the 2.4 GHz range. 17 Optimization of the Signal Recorder: Automatic saving of the recording every 10 minutes and the files will remain intact even in the case of a cold restart of the unit. Recordings are also possible in the User Login. Support of tags (identification transponders) of the AeroScout company also with the transmission standard IEEE802.11n and IEEE n-only (2.4 GHz). 38 14.2. New Functions ipcf-ht industrial Point Coordination Function High Throughput: If a higher data throughput is required for ipcf, ipcf-ht is used. This allows you to transfer video data, for example, in addition to PROFINET. iprp information in WBM: On this WBM page, you can check whether the settings for iprp are correct. For example, you can see which device is the partner client. The ipcf-mc roaming filter in client mode determines the number of RSSI individual measurements from which the median is determined to filter out fluctuations of the incoming signal. SFTP: Support for SSH File Transfer Protocol (SFTP). This enables encrypted file transfer. Forwarding of IPv4 multicast telegrams in conjunction with NAT is supported. The MAC Mode Layer 2 tunnel client can be used in conjunction with NAT. Events: New "Change in configuration" event is available. This event occurs when the configuration of the device has changed. Ping (ICMP) supports FQDN resolution for IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. Web Based Management (WBM) favorites: Individual pages/registries can be marked as favorites in the WBM. These can be saved, uploaded and deleted, either individually or in the configuration file of a device, via HTTP or TFTP on the WBM page "System > Load & Save". Remote capture: The "Remote Capture" network diagnostics functions can be configured in WBM and can be integrated into the "Wireshark" tool. Client minimum AP signal strength: The client is pre-assigned a signal strength. The client must receive the signal coming from the access point with at least the specified signal strength to connect to this access point. If the signal coming from the access point falls below this level, the client disconnects from the connected access point and looks for a new access point. This function can only be set in the standard WLAN mode (not for ipcf, ipcf-ht, ipcf-mc). Manual initiation of a handover in client mode can be controlled via SNMP. The following countries have been added to the firmware: Albania, Ecuador, Madagascar, Mozambique, Oman, Saudi Arabia.
