3 Quidway Series Switches The Quidway series switches proudly announce the release of a new product, the super engine Salience III, a complete new generation engine for series switches. It delivers a much higher switch capacity with XGBUS technology. It also provides abundant optional LPU (Line Processing Unit) boards including high density GE LPU boards, PoE LPU boards and 10GE LPU boards. Engine Salience III is compliant with all the traditional LPU boards, and can be applied to the products of S6503 (4 slots), S6506 (7 slots), and S6506R (8 slots). S6502 is a new member of the Series switch. It is a layer 3 switch with totally two slots. Specifically, the first slot is for the switching and routing process unit (SRPU), but the SRPU also provides interface: P12TE ( BASE-X SFP ports BASE-T ports), T12PE ( BASE-T ports BASE-X ports), and in the future abundant SRPU with interface will be provided. S6502 Total 2 slots, the first slot for engine (Two kinds of the engine: supporting 16 GE Ethernet ports: 12 electrical/optical+ 4 optical/electrical Ethernet ports), the second slot for I/O card. S6503 Total 4 slots: the first slot is for engine, others for I/O cards. S6506 Total 7 slots: the first slot is for engine, others for I/O cards. 4 Four kinds of engines are available with the release of the new products. Salience III edge Switching capacity: 96Gbps, Throughput: 72mpps. Engine with Base-X SFP interface (Can be used at S6503, S6506 and S6506R). Salience III Switching capacity: 384Gbps, Throughput: 126mpps. Engine with Base-X SFP interface (Can be used at S6503, S6506 and S6506R). T12PE Switching capacity: 48Gbps, Throughput: 36mpps. With 12 10/100/1000 Ethernet electrical ports and Base-X SFP Ethernet optical ports (Can only be used at S6502). P12TE Switching capacity: 48Gbps, Throughput: 36mpps. With 410/100/1000 Ethernet electrical ports and Base-X SFP Ethernet optical ports (Can only be used at S6502). New interface boards will be available with release of the new products. 5 Abundant Features The Series switch includes 4 products: S6502, S6503, S6506 and S6506R. Furthermore, four new engines are now part of the series family: Salience III Edge, Salience III, T12PE and P12TE. All the Salience III engines can be used with all the products: S6503, S6506 and S6506R, and T12PE, P12TE are only for S6502 switch. PoE (Power over Ethernet) fuction with Voice VLAN provides perfect VOIP solutions. High Performance The switching capacity of the series switches with Salience III engine reaches up to 384G, much higher than the Salience I and II. Support 48 port 10/100/1000 Base T LPU boards and I port 10GE port, in full configuration, the can provide up to 292GE or 288FE, and 6 10GE. Supporting up to 64K 1 routing table entries, and based on maximum match routing, they ensure that all packets have the same forwarding performance, and make the switches inherently immune against Code red worm and Worm blaster. Powerful processing capacity is an important assurance for building reliable, stable and high-speed IP network platforms. High Availability Abundant L2 and L3 features based on the powerful VRP network operating system ensure Series switches provide a broad range of network features and functions. VRP is one of the most efficient and full-featured Network OS, the result of Up to 384 Gbps high switching capacity and 48 port 10/100/1000 Base T LPU board and 10GE LPU board make it easy to build highly reliable, stable and high speed IP network platforms. Engine offers superior per-port QoS features to help ensure that network traffic is classified, prioritized, and scheduled optimally to efficiently handle bandwidthhungry multimedia, time-sensitive (voice), and mission-critical applications. Salience III super engines can classify, police, and mark incoming packets, allowing the administrator to differentiate between traffic flows and enforce policies. Sharing, shaping, and strict-priority configurations determine scheduling of egress traffic.
