Above this icon remaining time will be shown, which starts when the temperature reaches 28 o C, then the temperature will remain at 30 o C until the cycle has completed. Defrosting lasts 30 minutes, after this time it will turn off automatically. You can also stop defrosting function at any time (you can deactivate the defrost by returning to the menu, SETUP / SETTINGS / OTHERS). When defrosting is finished, wipe off the side walls and bottom of the chamber to prevent frost formation. 5.8 Events log The User can make notes during operation of the unit and store them in the memory. To make a note, perform the following steps: - if you are logged in remotely, tap the icon on the display - if you are not logged in remotely, go to Menu and open Recorder. Tap the icon to open the events logger. Choose the event s type: Page 34 / 48

advanced an event will be seen by the Admin (point ) and in the Premium Control software simple an event will be seen on the events list only Fill in the message field and press Add. If you want to see the events logger in the Premium Control software you need to launch the application and log in remotely. 5.9 Internal socket The INCU-Line Cooled IL 150R Premium and IL 250R Premium have been equipped with an internal socket (230V, 50Hz) for EU plugs. Please contact VWR service if the internal socket needs to be changed to a UK or CH plug version. You can use it for connecting any electrical device inside the incubator. Always ensure you adhere to safety rules for working with electrical devices! 5.10 Door lock All INCU-Line units have been equipped with a door lock. Depending on the model, it may be located in the door handle or on the front panel. Page 35 / 48

5.11 Access port A Ø30 mm access port can be used to insert an external temperature sensor, which has been secured with a rubber plug. The plug should cover the access port while the unit is operating. If multiple cables have been inserted through the access port and if it is not possible to use the plug, secure the access port with adhesive tape. If you leave the access port open, it may affect temperature stability and uniformity within the chamber Open door alarm All incubators have been equipped with an open door sensor, if you leave the door open, an alarm will sound. You can adjust the alarm delay function in: Settings / Others / Door open alarm (see chapter ). To switch the alarm off (e.g. if the door has to be open for a longer period of time) see chapter Page 36 / 48

5.13 Internal light / internal LED light All incubators have been equipped with internal lighting which switches on when opening the door. The IL 150R Premium and 250R Premium incubators come with LED lights USB port All Premium version incubators feature a USB port located on the front panel which allows data recording (e.g. on a USB memory stick) RS 232 Interface RS 232 interface: for service only Internal memory All Premium version incubators feature an internal memory (recorder) which allows 4100 data cells for each User. For more information see chapter Page 37 / 48

6 TEMPERATURE PROTECTION Temperature protection is included as standard, if damage occurs to the temperature controller or the user changes the temperature settings outside of the upper and lower limits, temperature protection will activate. Protection class 3.3 is a standard. The figure below shows how this works. Protection Class 3.3. according to DIN norm is called protecting sample function. The User can set the temperature protection (lower and upper limits) by himself and when the set temperature falls outside of this range, the power heaters or compressor is switched off. When the temperature returns to within normal parameters, the device continues to work normally. 7 REMOTE CONTROL OF THE UNIT Every Premium unit can be connected to the Ethernet network and controlled remotely using the Premium Control software. The features of the program have been described in a separate instruction manual. 8 OPERATION OF THE COOLING SYSTEM If the device is operating in low temperatures the evaporator may get covered with ice, this can affect the lower cooling efficiency of the device. To ensure proper operation of the device you should obey these principles: 1. At temperatures above +8ºC the air automatically defrosts the ice cover, defrosting is selfoperating. Page 38 / 48

2. At temperatures below +8ºC the evaporator may be covered in ice and the device should be defrosted manually. In order to do that you need to open the door and turn on the defrost function on the controller (go to the SETUP / OTHERS / DEFROSTING) See chapter 5.7. If the unit works in a temperature below +8 C and the User does not defrost it periodically, the compressor may overheat and break down. 3. The device is equipped with a protection mechanism against damaging the cooling system. The mechanism makes it impossible to turn on cooling when the temperature exceeds 45ºC. As a result if the device has been programmed to go down to a lower temperature (e.g. from 60ºC to 20ºC) it may take longer for the program to operate until it reaches 45ºC. The temperature inside the device is lowered naturally by emitting the heat to the surrounding environment. 4. Always make sure that the door has been closed properly! 9 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE OF THE DEVICE Before cleaning the device, it needs to be disconnected from the electrical supply! Maintenance (cleaning of the housing and the chamber) should be carried out at least once a week (depending on the environmental conditions in the workplace). To clean products made of stainless steel (INOX) we recommend using cleaning solution dedicated particularly to stainless steel material. It preserves the steel surface from permanent stains and retains aesthetic appearance of the product. INOX products are made of stainless steel, when used in standard laboratory conditions they do not rust. However it is possible that stains (which may look like rust) form on the steel surface (e.g. due to the kind of samples that are incubated in the chamber). In such case we recommend using cleaning solution (to clean the stains) which is dedicated to this particular application, e.g. Pelox. When cleaning stainless steel products with dedicated cleaning solution, one should pay attention to the suggestions and recommendations given in the user manual (or in the safety data sheet) of the cleaning solution. Page 39 / 48

9.1 Exterior cleaning 1. The housing and door should be cleaned with caution, using a soft cloth dampened with water. 2. Only mild cleaning products should be used to clean the device. 3. Electrical parts should not be in contact with water or detergent. 4. Clean the compressor and the evaporator with a vacuum cleaner, dry cloth or a brush at least once a month! The compressor and the evaporator are located in the bottom part (models: IL 240CR, IL 400CR, IL 750CR). Pull out the cover to get to the evaporator. After cleaning, replace the cover carefully. Disobeying this precaution may harm the compressor, which will not be covered by a warranty repair! 5. Clean the touch screen using a soft cloth for touch screens, or it is possible to use foam for cleaning touch screens. 6. USB port can be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner to prevent accumulation of dirt inside the socket. 9.2 Interior cleaning 1. The chamber should be emptied of any samples before cleaning. 2. Open the door of the device and wait for the frost to melt, take out the shelves and start cleaning the device. 3. Only water or mild detergent should be used. 4. Having finished cleaning, you should allow the device to dry completely. 5. During cleaning pay attention not to damage the temperature sensor in the chamber. Page 40 / 48

10 ADVICE ON HOW TO SAFELY STORE THE DEVICE 1. Remove all objects from the chamber. 2. Disconnect the device from the mains. 3. Clean and dry the chamber. 4. Leave the door open to allow adequate ventilation. 5. Store in temperatures between 0 C and 50 C and relative humidity maximum 70%. 11 TROUBLESHOOTING 11.1 Alarm Window If the symbol appears in the Main Screen, this means that there has been some problems during the operation of the device. If you click the symbol, you will open the Alarm Screen. It contains information about activated alarms together with the date and time they were activated. The number next to the alarm denotes how many times the alarm was activated. The button allows information about alarms to be deleted, including the error counters. The icon is used to refresh alarm information. The icon allows the alarm sound of the opened door sensor to be disabled (if you need to keep the door open for a long period of time). You can exit the Alarm Window by pressing Alarm List Below is a list of alarms which can occur during the operation of the device.
