3 1 General Information A.1 Welcome Thank you for choosing Meditech Digital Kymograph.To guarantee the Digital Kymograph always in its best condition, please read this manual carefully and keep it for future use. The picture, symbols and contents in this manual are just for your reference. They may not be completely identical with your machine, so please refer to the real object. Meditech operates a policy of continuous development and reserves right to update and modify technical specifications in this document at any time without prior notice. A.2 Limit Warranty The warranty does not apply to defects or errors in the product caused by: (a) Reasonable abrasion (b) Misuse including mishandling, physical damage, improper installation, unauthorized disassembly of the product. (c) Water or any other liquid damage. (d) Any unauthorized repair or modification. (e) Power surges, Lightning damage, fire, flood or other events outside Meditech s reasonable control. (f) Any other cause beyond the range of normal usage of the product. End User shall have no right to reject, return or receive a refund for any product from Meditech under the above mentioned situations. This warranty is end user s sole remedy and Meditech s sole liability for defective or non conformating items, and is in lieu of all other warranties, expressed implied or statutory, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, unless otherwise required under the mandatory provisions of the law. 5 1.3 Working safely This section describes general safety information for using the Digital Kymograph. Your organization may provide additional safety information. 1.4 General safety To avoid injury to yourself and the Digital Kymograph, follow these safety instructions: Never attempt to physically restrict any of the moving components. Before performing the procedures in this manual, review the specific safety instructions for them. Before using tools, materials, and equipment to perform procedures in this manual, review the manufacturer s safety instructions for them. Perform only the maintenance described in this manual. Maintenance other than that specified in this manual should only be performed by technical service representatives authorized by Meditech. 1.5 Electrical safety WARNING: The Kymograph has the potential of being a shock hazard. Review all safety instructions. Review the following safety instructions before troubleshooting, repairing, or replacing parts in the agitator: Before removing covers from the kymograph, disconnect the power to the agitator. Use appropriate grounding precautions when replacing circuit boards and other electrical parts. Use power cords and other electrical parts that are designed for use with the kymograph. 1.6 Chemical and biological safety Review the safety instructions in the Operation Manual before using, cleaning, or servicing the agitator. WARNING: In addition to the instructions included in this manual and the Operation Manual, follow all chemical handling and disposal requirements and procedures specified by your organization.before sending parts to Meditech or your distributor for service or repair, decontaminate them as appropriate. Any items that have not been decontaminated appropriately will not be accepted. Documentation stating that the contents are not contaminated and are safe to handle must accompany all returns. Contact Meditech for decontamination instructions and a return authorization number. 5

7 Digital Kymograph Red Knob (1) K Recoding Drum Black Knob (2) K LED Display Keypad Recording Drum Recording drum is useful in recording the graph. The graph paper is placed on the circumference of the drum during experiment for recording purpose. The Recording drum rotates at the speed which is selected using the keypads. Hence the recording drum rotates at the speed of 0.12, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, 1.25, 2.5,12.5, 25.0 mm/sec. 8 Keypad There are are 9 buttons in Keypad (1) Start/ Stop This button is used to start the Kymograph (2) 0.12 This button is used to set the speed of recording drum to 0.12 mm/sec (3) 0.25 This button is used to set the speed of recording drum to 0.25 mm/sec (4) 0.50 This button is used to set the speed of recording drum to 0.50 mm/sec (5) 0.75 This button is used to set the speed of recording drum to 0.75 mm/sec (6) 1.25 This button is used to set the speed of recording drum to 1.25 mm/sec (7) 2.50 This button is used to set the speed of recording drum to 2.50 mm/sec (8) 12.5 This button is used to set the speed of recording drum to 12.5 mm/sec (9) 25.0 This button is used to set the speed of recording drum to 25.0 mm/sec LED DISPLAY LED displays the current speed of recording drum in mm/sec

9 Battery Eliminator Voltage Selector ON/OFF Switch Power lamp Red Knob (1) B Black Knob (3) B On/OFF Switch On/OFF switch is used to switch on and switch off the battery eliminator Voltage Selector: Voltage selector is used to select the desired voltage. We have option to select 2 volts, 4 volts, 6 volts, 8 volts, 10 volts and 12 volts respectively. Power Lamp: Power lamp turns on to red light when the battery eliminator is switched on. Red Knob (1) B: Red Knob (1) B is connected to Red knob (1) K of Digital Kymograph Red Knob (3) B Red Knob(3) B is connected to connect IC (3) of Induction Coil.
