2 Handheld ultrasonic flowmeters Reference: AB-FLOW-PO-FL01 Handheld portable ultrasonic flow meter provides abundant capabilities for accurate liquid flow measurement. The utilization of proprietary ultrasound transmission / receiving, transit-time measurement and ultrasonic signal processing technologies allows our flow meter to measure liquid flow rate from outside of a pipe reliably and accurately. The handheld portable clamp-on flow meter is carefully designed so that its user-s are self-explanatory and the instrument is very easy to operate. The unique clamp-on fixture design makes the installation very simple and no special skills or tools required. Due to the non-intrusive nature of the clamp-on technique, there is no pressure drop, no moving parts, no leaks, no risk of contamination, no risk of corrosion, not pressure dependent, and etc. The handheld portable flow meter is ideal for general flow survey, HVAC hydronic balancing / testing, energy consumption supervision, water conservation management, beverage and food processing, chemical process monitoring, power plant monitoring, and other closed-pipe applications where non-intrusive measurement is required. It provides abundant capabilities for accurate liquid flow measurement from outside of a pipe. The proprietary signal quality tracking and self-adapting techniques allow the system to optimally adapt to different pipe materials automatically. This unit has four local keys which can be used for setting all parameters, including inputing value. This type ultrasonic flowmeter can be equipped with an optional keyboard module. The users can either use the RS-485 or the display / keyboard to program the flowmeter. The transducer installation is also simple and no special skills or tools are required. The wall-mounted unit can support clamp on transducers, insertion hot-tap transducers and inline type transducers. It can be powered by AC and DC power and solar powered. With clamp-on transducers, it is called as clamp on ultrasonic flow meters and can provide many good features:no need to cut pipe,no direct touch to liquid, no pressure drop, no moving parts, no risk of contamination, no risk of corrosion,and etc. With insertion transducers, it will be insertion ultrasonic flow meters and can be used for pipe size>dn80 mm. 10 Reference: AB-FLOW-FI-CA03 Insertion liquid ultrasonic flow meter employs a pair of insertiontype ultrasonic transducers to measure the flow by inserting the transducers into the pipe wall. The transducers do not extrude into the flow, thus, do not generate any disturbance or pressure drop to the flow. Comparing with a clamp-on flowmeter, the biggest advantages of our wetted-type flowmeter are its long-term stability, better signal quality and less installation uncertainty. The last two features can also be translated into higher accuracy. The insertion liquid flow meter is designed for pipe larger than 3 (DN80mm). For smaller pipe, our spoolpiece model, flow cell inlie flow meter, might be a better choice. When pipe size becomes smaller, the cost of a spool-piece inline transducer comes down. Because ultrasonic water meter carryies on many good features from ultrasonic flow meter, such as no moving parts,no pressure drop,completed communication protocol,etc, and ultrasonic flow converter and sensor are IP68 class,ultrasonic water meter will be an ideal choice for water meter as the cost is reduced. Clamp-on ultrasonic water meter refers to the flow transducer is clamp-on type, which is clamped onto pipe surface. Clamp-on installing way doesn t need to cut pipe,so there is no pressure drop,no risk of leakage,no maintainance,etc. But as it is battery powered, clamp-on ultrasonic water meter can t get the same accurate level as that of main powered ultrasonic flow meter. Thus, battery powered clamp-on ultrasonic water meter is only for such request.
