2 HARMONICS More than just a simple problem In recent years, substantial growth in the number of electronic devices designed to equip our installations has resulted in significant changes in the types of loads connected to the power distribution system. These devices are currently equipped with electronics that in one way or another increase task efficiency, production processes and the activities we perform. Everyone uses computers for personal use or for processing and controlling production systems with variable speed drivers, airconditioning units, lifts that slow down when approaching their destination floor, etc. These devices are equipped with rectifiers, modulators, etc., which distort the wave shape of the current to achieve their correct operation. All in all, these devices and units have definitely improved our quality of life; however, they also lead to greater contamination of our electric system and thus to high levels of harmonics. 2

4 Auto-diagnosis of the unit every time it is started, guaranteeing correct operation. Auto-diagnosis features an internal auto-diagnosis system that is activated during start-up, which shows the user whether the unit is operating correctly or there is a connection problem. The messages are shown automatically on its TFT touch-screen display, guaranteeing that they are viewed immediately. This guarantees the correct operation of the filter and prevents damage caused by an incorrect installation. Easier to install has a new wall-mounted and cabinet designs, so it can be easily and quickly installed, thanks to its reduced weight and compact dimensions. In addition, it enables installation of transformers on the network and load sides. Start-up the unit in only 3 steps: Connect, set up and start. Expandable enables parallel installation of up to 100 filters*. This option greatly increases installation flexibility in the event of future filtering needs due to load expansion or as a result of changes in consumption habits. The capacity to operate in parallel allows the system to use redundancy strategies and achieve top performance of the units. 5 Datalogger features a 2 Gb internal memory to record the load curve of the following parameters during each phase: voltage, mains and load current, active power in the mains and load, reactive power in the mains and load, THDi (total), internal temperature and % use of the filter. 2GB Installation safety features a firmware security system, in compliance with the IEC Standard, which performs the auto-diagnosis of the code and of the hardware running it. This guarantees that the system will work in the safe mode in the case that a fault is detected. Secure firmware Safe mode Smart thermal management system can adjust the turning speed of its fans, according to the needs of each moment, with the purpose of minimising the noise generated by the unit and maximising their working life. This guarantees the highest efficiency throughout the working temperature range, detection of ventilation system deterioration and the implementation of preventive maintenance actions. 5

6 Remote verification can be remotely accessed via Ethernet connection to perform on-line diagnosis tasks or to update the system, without the need for on-site technical support. Built-in web server features an Ethernet port to access its web site from any browser, with the purpose of monitoring instantaneous parameters, downloading data and events stored on-line, with no need to download a software application. Power Studio compatible Electric energy management via communication systems features an RS-485 port and an Ethernet port, so the unit can be connected with the Modbus RTU protocol to our PowerStudio Scada energy management software to monitor the instantaneous values, create graphics and tables, generate reports and detect alarms. With optional remote verification and assistance 6

Multi-purpose The active filters are very versatile, since they can be configured with different configurations and operating modes. Therefore, they can be used in any type of installation and for any type of situation: Available for 3 or 4-wire installations. Suitable for the following voltages: 230, 400 and 480 V. These filters can be adapted to the complexities of each installation, since they are connected to the network or load side. They feature a priority system, which can be adjusted for power factor correction, phase balancing or harmonics filtering. 10 30 Parallel multifunction active filter Description The parallel multifunction active filter is the most complete solution for solving power quality problems related to industrial, commercial or service installations with presence of harmonics, consumption of reactive power (usually capacitive) and also phase unbalance. The is meant for wall-mounting thanks to its small size to facilitate its installation. The features and functions implemented are: (WS) Filtering capacity of 30 A Reduced metallic enclosure for wall assembly. Its compact dimensions make it easy to install. Range of filters for installations with 3 wires (3W model) or 4 wires (4W model) Multi-range voltage and dual frequency (50/60 Hz). Reduction of harmonic currents up to the 50th harmonic (2,500 Hz). 13 100 / 200 Active Parallel Multi-Function Filter Description The cabinet series parallel multifunction active filter is the most complete solution for solving Quality problems related to industrial, commercial or services installations with presence of harmonics, consumption of reactive power (usually capacitive) and also phase unbalance. This is meant rack mounting into market standard cabinets, designed to facilitate its installation. The implemented features and functions are: Filtering capacity from 100 to 200 A for each cabinet. Reduced rack dimensions to be installed easily in standard cabinets. Range of filters for installations with 3 wires (3W model) or 4 wires (4W model).
