3 Major Bug Fixes Firmware and driver : Fixed kernel panics when a rebuild is running and hot plug the drives in XStor XJ-SA24-316R enclosure : Fixed a firmware crash when hot plug Seagate ES.2 drives in Promise J : Windows installation hangs when re-inserting physical disks into a rebuilding array : Installation of Windows 2003 to a rebuilding array, failed to boot up : Fixed a firmware crash when accessing AIC XJ1100 enclosure node in WebPAM PRO : Firmware does not detect SATA drive reinserted into Xtore XJ-SA26-224R enclosure : Fixed kernel panics when hot plug drives into incomplete arrays with 4 cascaded Promise JBODs. JBOD 3 and 4 DDF are not processed : WebPAM PRO and in-band CLI cannot detect Promise J610s enclosure in Windows XP SP 32-bit. 4 Known issues ID Title While a user is entering data in the configuration or setting page, if there is a new event occurs, the data just entered by the user will be automatically reset. Workaround: Re-enter the data Linux RHEL 4 Update 4 fails to install or boot while array is initializing. Workaround: This is a Linux issue. Do not use the default partitioning setting, excluding the drives that is initializing. Or Wait until array initializing finishes to boot the system Linux host system cannot detect the controller after coming back from hibernation. Workaround: Disable hibernation under power management Reboot hangs on Windows start up screen with Supermicro H8DCE mother board with J610s attached. Workaround: This is hardware compatibility issue. Reboot the system Cascading Promise JBODs fails with Table Route (diamond icon) connection from the HBA. Workaround: This is a limitation of Intel SAS Firmware. Connect JBODs to the subtractive (circle icon) connector Replacing the controller with a new one, with JBODs connected and powered on, causes kernel panic. Workaround: Before replacing the controller, shut down the system properly, power off the JBODs, replace the controller, then power on JBODs and the host Windows 2008, with Tyan S5375/5376 motherboards, cannot boot up after initial network installation. Workaround: This is a hardware compatibility issue. It happens with Tyan S5375/5376 motherboards only. With Windows 2008 Server, make sure to disable Read Completion Coalescing from the system BIOS menu > Chipset > North Bridge Configuration > Read Completion Coalescing > Disable SUSE Linux (Open SUSE and SLES): WebPAM PRO failed to start after initial installation. Workaround: Reboot the system or log out and log in WebPAM PRO again Threshold values of voltage and temperature for non-promise JBOD are not available from the management software. Page 4 of 5

5 Workaround: When the values of voltage and temperature exceed JBOD predefined threshold values, critical events will be reported Fan speed of AIC JBODs, XJ-SA26-224R and XJ-SA24-316R, shows 0 RPM. Workaround: AIC JBOD firmware do not report fan speed GUI icon status does not change on failed FRU (power supply, fan, etc) for non- Promise JBODs. Workaround: Click the IP address node (e.g ) and click the Refresh button. The icon will reflect the correct status FreeBSD: After CLI installation, CLI does not start. Workaround: After installation, reboot the host system System Intel S5000VSA hangs during BIOS detecting process during reboot test. Workaround: This is hardware compatibility issue and happens occasionally. Reboot the system Samsung HE103UJ drive drops out during drive detection. Workaround: This is a compatibility issue of Supermicro backplane SAS933EL1. All the EL model enclosures do not support SATA drives Drive become un-configured when hot plugged with DEAD status Workaround: This only happens with dead drives. When do hot plug, make sure to have 5 seconds delay between for drive insertion. Page 5 of 5
