2 RUGGED DC ELECTRONIC LOADS WITH CUTTING EDGE FUNCTIONALITY OVERVIEW To meet the standards required for rugged DC electronic loads, Astrodyne TDI continues the DYNALOAD TM tradition of programmable DC electronic loads that offer cutting-edge functionality at a competitive price. The XBL GEN II series of air cooled loads offer high reliability, precision control, fast response to transients and excellent flexibility for testing a wide variety of DC supplies and sources. They are ideal for testing fuel cells, power supplies, batteries, solar panels, fuses, ultra capacitors as well as custom DC sources. The XBL DYNALOAD TM GEN II Series features 800, 2000, 4000, and 6000 Watt models with wide range voltage inputs (50,00,400 or 600V) and sophisticated programming via IEEE/GPIB, Ethernet, or RS V XBL GEN II models are equipped for low voltage compliance (as low as 0.V) and high current applications (single channel models up to 000 amps). Analog 0-0V is also available. Programming and control is available in a variety of ways -locally through the front panel keypad, remotely using IEEE/GPIB commands, integrated XBL web page and even through the XBL-GEN II Windows based PC application. With the XBL-GEN II PC app, operators can use the softwares digital front panel simulator to control the load, or the individual step program table to create and run their own custom profiles, useful in applications such as battery discharging. With the advent of the XBL s advanced load control, test engineers are no longer restricted to paralleling the same model of loads. All models of XBL GEN II Series loads can now be paralleled together and set as master and slave together. All control is accommodated by the master that interrogates all XBL units seen on the communication bus. Current distribution is seamless without operator intervention. Operators can now have an additional layer of flexibility when choosing load sizes and configurations! All XBL GEN II Series units offer closed box calibration as well as FET trace ride through. These features can save valuable time when deadlines beckon. Higher power XBL GEN II models incorporate variable speed forced air cooling to assure a quiet operating environment.
