13 USDOT Emergency Website DOT has a website to assist public and private sector transportation stakeholders during emergency situations The website has information related to transportation permits, waivers, and other regulations and authorities that are applicable during an emergency 13

15 Intelligence Intelligence products to supports policy and decision making process Represents the Department at national-level Insider Threat / Counter Intelligence workshops; supports development of Department policy Intelligence Division staff at NJTTF coordinating with Federal and State Law Enforcement. Open door policy, allowing for reoccurring visits by, cleared Amtrak and other Industry security analysts. Threat assessment briefings to DOT OA Security Representatives. 15
16 Security Policy Transportation Systems Sector-Specific Plan (SSP) SSP - outlines roles and responsibilities of government & private industry in managing security and resilience risks -all hazards environment Excellent State-level DOT participation SSP - in final stages of review by DHS, IP, OMB, and NSC staff Anticipate final release in Fall publicly available electronic document on the DHS website. 16
17 Security Policy (cont ) Updates to the Federal Flood Risk Management Standard - to account for climate change, - USDOT is updating its flood plain guidance to OA s - OAs will have to update their guidance Flood plain increases vertically and horizontally Requires consideration of flooding to resilience of transportation infrastructure Requires consideration of impact to flood plain by infrastructure AASHTO s current specifications meet or exceeding all current Federal requirements, but the Updates may mean that AASHTO will have to update their specifications to stay current. 17
18 Recovery and Mitigation National Disaster Recovery Framework DOT is a primary agency for the Infrastructure Systems RSF (IS- RSF) DOT is a supporting organization for the Community Planning and Capacity Building (CPCB- RSF) and Health & Social Services (HSS-RSF) National Mitigation Framework Creates a Mitigation Advisor for Disaster response and recovery Reach-back to organizations such as ASHTO for guidance Creates State/Local representation to Federal Leadership Group Must be elected official nominated by Federal Department/Agencies MITFLG meets quarterly If interested let me know 11 August December December
