You can find AXIS libraries in $INFA_HOME/server/samples/WebServices/lib/axis-1.4. Installing Informatica Services If you install Informatica services on the HP-UX platform, the installer selects the libjvm.so shared object during the installation process. Before you install Informatica on an HP-UX system, unset the LD_PRELOAD environment variable. ( ) Upgrading the Data Integration Service When you upgrade a HotFix 2 domain that contains a Data Integration Service, the upgrade adds the following custom properties that were not defined to the service: MonitoringOptions.NotificationDelayPeriod AdvancedProfilingServiceOptions.EnableLiveDrillDownMappingOptimization Remove the custom properties after upgrading. 4 Upgrading the Unstructured Data Transformation When you upgrade from to version 9.1, the Relational Hierarchy tab is disabled. You must register the Unstructured Data transformation. 1. Configure the 9.1 Repository Service to run in exclusive mode. 2. Connect to the 9.1 Repository Service with the pmrep Connect command using a user account with Admin Repository privilege. 3. Locate pmudt.xml in the following directory: $INFA_ROOT\server\bin\native $INFA_ROOT is the Informatica 9.1 installation directory. 4. Use the pmrep RegisterPlugin command to update the repository. The RegisterPlugin command uses the following syntax: Registerplugin -i <input_registration_file_name_or_path> -e -N Configuring the Reporting Service After you install or upgrade the Informatica domain, complete the following task to run the Reporting Service on a Windows node. Add the following path to the Path environment variable on each Windows node that runs the Reporting Service: %SystemRoot%\system32 If you do not add the path, the Reporting Service does not start and the following error appears in the Console-Redirect.log file in the tomcat/jboss/server/informatica/log directory: 'findstr' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. ( ) Informatica Data Explorer Informatica Data Explorer Advanced Edition is renamed to Informatica Data Explorer. Informatica Domain Fixes The master gateway node shuts down unexpectedly if the Service Manager cannot update the license usage for the PowerCenter Repository Service You cannot run the Configuration Support Manager when the master gateway node runs on Suse Linux You can view the administrator password if you run ps -fu <unixid> while the Configuration Support Manager runs on UNIX or Linux , Internet Explorer does not display an error message when the domain fails to synchronize LDAP users When the Load Balancer is in the adaptive or metric-based dispatch mode, a large number of workflow run statistics are saved to the repository. 4 IN_RLN_91000_0003

5 During an upgrade, the installer does not copy the ca-bundle.crt file from the backup directory to the new installation directory When you continuously click the Connections and Locks tab for a PowerCenter Repository Service in the Administrator tool, a maximum number of connections exceeded error message displays You cannot start the Informatica domain when the domain contains an invalid LDAP group relationship cycle The session ID does not change each time you log in or log out of the Administrator tool A windows 64-bit Informatica installation incorrectly shows 32-bit version in the PowerCenter Integration Service log events LDAP users and groups that have the Administrator role on the domain lose all inherited permissions on domain objects when you synchronize with the LDAP server Informatica domain shuts down unexpectedly during user synchronization to the Data Analyzer repository when user descriptions contain multibyte characters , Application services shut down unexpectedly if a user attempts to log in to an application client during user synchronization to the repository A node that is added to the domain does not start unless the password is "Administrator." When you set up a domain by using a trusted connection and you run the infasetup backupdomain command with the -tc connection option, the back up of the domain fails due to database-related errors When the Informatica domain starts, an SQL exception occurs but it is not reported When you use a JDBC driver and the Statement.maxRows value is 0, which is the default, the SQL data service fails with an SQL exception The SQL data service JDBC driver throws an AssertionError error Users do not require permissions to create a connection in the Developer tool Informatica fails to start if you create the domain configuration repository on a Microsoft SQL Server database and you select the following options during installation: Use a trusted connection to connect to Microsoft SQL Server. Run the Informatica Windows service under the user account that installed Informatica Master gateway node does not give up master role after taking more than 32 seconds to update the database The Model Repository Service intermittently fails on IBM DB2 9.5 and 9.7 when fetching a very large number of objects from the Model repository through the Data Direct drivers If you create a Data Integration Service with a user other than the repository administrator for the Model repository connection, you are prompted to upgrade the service Passwords logged in the Informatica_<Version>_Server.log file generated by the installer during installation or upgrade are not masked. Workaround: Do not use a trusted connection to Microsoft SQL Server for the Reporting Service or use a different database type Users can monitor jobs of other users in the Working View tab even though they do not have the View Jobs of Other Users domain privilege If you run a mapping that performs lookups against a relational data object and the memory required to run the mapping exceeds the maximum memory size for the Data Integration Service process, the Data Integration Service might take a long time to report that there is insufficient memory to run the mapping. Workaround: Either increase the maximum memory size or set it to 0 to disable dynamic memory allocation for the Data Integration Service process The Web Services Report shows incorrect information if you run the Web Services Hub on HTTPS. Workaround: Restart the domain Deployed mappings with a data object that performs a lookup against a text column fail when caching is enabled for the data object and the cache database is a Microsoft SQL Server database. Workaround: Either disable caching for the data object or use an Oracle or IBM DB2 database as the cache database The Domain tab of the Administrator tool does not display the domain overview when you delete a grid on which a PowerCenter Integration Service runs. 6 IN_RLN_91000_0003

7 Workaround: Create a grid with the same name as the deleted grid or configure the PowerCenter Integration Service to run on a node The View Dependency graph for a PowerCenter Repository Service does not appear after you associate a Metadata Manager Service with the PowerCenter Repository Service The Data Integration Service might take a long time to respond to a soap request if a web service contains a lookup on a logical data object infacmd createconnection command option values with spaces must be enclosed by single quotes on Windows and UNIX. On UNIX, you must also enclose the command option in double quotes The License Management Report PDF does not show Unicode characters in domain object names when the master gateway node runs on HP-UX. Workaround: Use the following procedure to add the Unicode font to the Administrator tool: 1. Create a text file called AcUtil.properties and store it in the following installation directory: <Informatica installation directory>\ services\administratorconsole\administrator For example: C:\Informatica\9.1.0\services\AdministratorConsole\administrator 2. Add the following properties to the file and specify a Unicode font name: PDF.Font.Default=<Unicode font name> PDF.Font.MultibyteList=<Unicode font name> The value for the Unicode font name can be any Unicode font that works on HP-UX. 3. Verify that the master gateway node machine also has the same font installed. 4. Open the licenseutility.css file under the following installation directory: <Informatica installation directory>\services\administratorconsole\administrator\css 5. Add the Unicode font name to all occurrences of "font-family" in the licenseutility.css file. 6. Restart the domain. PowerCenter PowerCenter Compilers You can use any C compiler for Custom transformation procedures. Use the C++ compiler versions that appear in the Product Availability Matrix. The Product Availability Matrix is available on the Support page at Use C++ compiler versions for any External Procedure or Custom transformation, and when you develop with PowerExchange SDK. If you compiled the DLL or shared library with a C++ compiler version that does not appear in the Product Availability Matrix, you need to recompile it. You do not need to recompile a Java transformation if the JDK is compatible with the version that you used for the previous compile. IN_RLN_91000_0003 7

10 When importing a mapping that has a Lookup transformation with the decimal separator set to comma, PowerCenter replaces the comma with a period You cannot enter tab keys on the Java Code tab of the Java transformation The Integration Service writes an incorrect decimal number to a DB2 target decimal column when the precision is 19 or greater and PowerCenter is running on Linux 32-bit. Workaround: Enable high precision. PowerCenter Closed Enhancement Requests Kerberos authentication support available for all transformations that support Sybase connectivity The Apache Tomcat server is updated to version PowerCenter Known Limitations Session hangs intermittently when using Sorter transformation for large data sets on AIX 64-bit platform The Web Services Report for a secure Web Services Hub does not display correctly after a certificate is added. Workaround: To run the Web Services Report for a secure Web Services Hub, you must import the SSL certificate of the node that hosts the Web Services Hub to the Java truststore on all the gateway nodes. The Java truststore is named cacerts and is located in the INFA_HOME/java/lib/security directory. After you add the certificate to cacerts, restart the domain. If you do not restart the domain, the Administrator tool does not correctly display the Web Services Report for the secure Web Services Hub You cannot access the data lineage from PowerCenter Designer using Mozilla Firefox browser. Workaround: Use the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser to access the data lineage from PowerCenter Designer The PowerCenter Integration Service intermittently fails or stops responding for the PowerCenter sessions that use an SFTP connection to access a flat file source and flat file target Partitioned session with SFTP connection fails to process data for all partitions except a partition in an IPv6 environment. Workaround: Remove partitions completely Session using SFTP fails with host name validation error when the SFTP connection is in a non staged mode and the SFTP connection uses IPV6 addressing format. Workaround: Enable the "is staged" connection attribute in the session properties Incorrect memory calculation occurs on Windows 64-bit and the following message appears: TM_6970 The DTM estimates that one of its buffer pools requires [number of bytes] bytes to run, but this amount of memory cannot be allocated on a 32 bit platform. Please try to manually specify the size from the Workflow Manager. Workaround: Contact Informatica Global Customer Support. (added April 11, 2011) The PowerCenter Repository Service terminates when you enable the service on a Solaris SPARC bit operating system with a Sybase ASE repository. 10 IN_RLN_91000_0003

11 Workaround: If you install Informatica on a Solaris SPARC operating system, create the PowerCenter repository metadata on supported versions of Oracle or IBM DB2. The workaround is also applicable when you upgrade from PowerCenter 8.1, 8.5, or 8.6 versions The Debugger fails to start on Windows 64-bit when you select Create a debug instance. Workaround: Select Use an existing session instance when you run the Debugger. (added April 11, 2011) When the Integration pushes a UNION ALL clause to a Sybase 15.0 database, the database server returns the wrong results. Workaround: Disable pushdown optimization for this session Data Transformation source and target sessions fail on HP-UX computers because a library is missing from the PowerCenter installation The Designer does not highlight text in the Java Code tab when you define an expression for a Java transformation The PowerCenter Repository Service on HP-UX causes memory leaks when you perform continuous operations against the PowerCenter repository. Continuous operations include running workflows, importing and exporting objects, and connecting to the repository The PowerCenter Integration Service on HP-UX might hang when processing a large volume of data. This is due to a kernel problem associated with network file system (NFS) issues on HP-UX platforms. This can also occur on HP PA-RISC or Itanium architectures. For more information, refer to Informatica KB article KB The Repository Service on HP-UX.IPF.64 sometimes hangs due to a memory leak when you delete a folder A PowerCenter Integration Service that runs on Windows 64 shuts down unexpectedly when you debug a mapping and the Create a Debug Session Instance option is enabled A session uses an increasing amount of memory when a Java transformation passes rows to the Unstructured Data transformation Pushdown optimization session fails when Source Qualifier transformations are based on the same source. PowerCenter Third-Party Limitations Cannot load TIMESTAMP datatype values to Oracle targets when using the DataDirect 6.1 drivers. Workaround: Use native drivers. DataDirect reference number: DD The session shuts down unexpectedly when you use DataDirect 6.1 drivers to write TIMESTAMP and VARCHAR for BIT DATA datatypes together into DB2 targets. Workaround: Use native drivers. DataDirect reference number: DD IN_RLN_91000_

12 Informatica Analyst Informatica Analyst Fixes If you open the Analyst tool in Mozilla Firefox version 3.6 or later, do not resize the Run Profile dialog box. If you try to resize it, the browser might fail. Informatica Analyst Known Limitations If you create a filter, add a rule, or re-run a profile after you apply filters on the profile drilldown results, you may get a runtime error about multiple users using the profile object. Workaround: Close the current tab, and open it again You cannot create reference tables that connect to tables with spaces in table names or column names You cannot search for a rule using its tag when you add the rule to a profile You cannot create unmanaged reference tables that connect to tables with lower case or mixed case column names If you have scores from multiple profiles in a scorecard, the tool does not select some of the drilldown columns for a drilldown on all scores Drilldown results may be incorrect when a profile contains a rule with a Comparison transformation having decimal values in its output After adding multibyte characters to a reference table, audit trail exports are corrupted Data preview fails when you delete target columns in a mapping specification that is used as a source in another mapping specification If you profile a data source with empty string columns, the data type inference of those columns may not be successful If you run a profile in the Analyst tool after you run it in the Developer tool by enabling column, primary key, and functional dependency analyses, the Analyst tool incorrectly displays the profile execution time for primary key and functional dependency analyses The physical data object or logical data object name does not get updated in the Analyst tool if a developer changes the object name in the Developer tool If you preview a profile on the Advanced Filter tab for an ODBC data source, the Analyst tool displays an error. 12 IN_RLN_91000_0003

13 If you change the data source of a profile on a relational data source with an SQL filter to a flat file, the Analyst tool incorrectly displays the SQL filter option If you export the drilldown data of a flat file data source profile, the date values contain the time stamp even though you specified only the date format without the time stamp You cannot import reference tables if the reference table name or column names contain special characters such as "#" The Analyst tool does not display any information under the Job Status tab the first time you run a profile You cannot remove a rule from a profile after you have run the profile on the rule column with the incremental profiling option enabled If you rename a rule after running the profile, the name change does not reflect in the profiling warehouse A scorecard may report problems with a data column if the column contains more than 200 unique values. Workaround: Set the profile data sampling options to return fewer than 200 rows Profiling results do not read the time stamp for a record to subsecond level when generating value frequency data. When multiple records have common time stamps to hh:mm:ss level but differ at subsecond level, the value frequency results show data from one of the records only. If you drill down on the value frequency results, you can view the values that do not display. (fixed in HotFix 4) Informatica Developer Informatica Developer Fixes The Data Integration Service shuts down unexpectedly when you run a preview on a Lookup transformation Profiling a Teradata database object using an ODBC connection causes an error Export from Model Repository Service to PowerCenter Repository service fails if the SQL contains the parenthesis character " ()" When you import multiple data profiling objects from the same project, the import fails without generating any errors The Match transformation dual source performance is slow Address validation using the "AllWorld" reference tables causes PowerCenter or Informatica Developer to shut down unexpectedly The Informatica Data Quality HotFix 2 Integration installer does not back up the AD50.cfg file used by PowerCenter On Linux 32- and 64-bit platforms, the Data Integration Service shuts down unexpectedly when performing Address Validation of Army Post Office (APO) addresses. 14 You are unable to profile an ODBC data source successfully as the system generates the following error: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server:Invalid object name IDP_WH_VERSION The Data Integration Service hangs if you perform a data previewing operation on a Parser transformation that cannot load a reference table On 64-bit AIX platforms, the Data Integration Service develops a memory leak during dual-source matching operations The Association transformation does not generate log entries while the mapping is running The Data Integration Service shuts down unexpectedly after running a mapping with an Identity Matching operation that uses the Best Match output type Multiple attempts to import Informatica Developer mappings damages the mapping XML file The Developer tool can import reference tables that contain a single column Mapping run fails when zero rows are passed to a Match transformation that uses Identity matching When you configure the Match transformation to use dual source identity matching, the ports from the second source are not available in the identity matching strategy If you run a profile without the Execute permission on the dstemp directory, the Developer tool generates an incorrect error message You cannot run imported mappings that contain reference tables if the staging database has a different name than the staging database in the original environment of the mapping An Expression transformation that contains a REG_REPLACE function fails to replace multibyte characters Profiling should use the same preferences (High Precision) as Data viewer in Developer tool On AIX 64-bit, the Data Integration Service crashes when running a mapping that contains a large number of mapplets and transformations The Mapping Service shuts down unexpectedly when you run a mapping with a large number of transformations, for example, 100 or more, on AIX You cannot import a resource into the Developer tool if the resource name is null You cannot preview an Oracle relational resource if the resource, schema, or column names contain a question mark character (?). 15 Informatica Developer Known Limitations If you copy ports into an input group in a Match transformation, the Data Integration Service truncates the output to 10 characters. (fixed in HotFix 2) If you simultaneously run more than five jobs from the Developer tool, the Monitoring tab in the Administrator tool displays only the first five running jobs If you update a content set regular expression that the Labeler transformation uses, the Labeler transformation does not apply the updates.
