1 Curriculum Training Paths Intergraph recommends that SmartPlant Foundation (SPF) users select one of the following training tracks described below. Prior to SPF version 2014R1, the SPF 2009R4 training roadmap includes three admin courses for administrators. The course material is designed to link all the three courses together to achieve an overall understanding of the stand-alone and integrated environments. The revised SPF Administration training is broken down into Non-Integrated admin training and Integrated admin training for SPF version 2014R1 and later versions. This will reduce the amount of time students need to dedicate to achieve an overall understanding of the stand-alone and integrated environments. An integrated environment means the use of SPF integrated with the external engineering authoring tools such as SP P&ID, SPI, SPEL or SP3D. A non-integrated environment means the use of SPF as a stand-alone document management system 1

Role: SPF 2014R1 User- Basic and Advanced Administration for a nonintegrated environment For those desiring an understanding of SmartPlant Foundation 2014R2 functionality, the SPF setup, and system configuration. 5 SPF Basic Authoring and Administration TSPE4500 This introductory administration course for SmartPlant Foundation (SPF) is the introduction of Process, Power, and Marine processes introducing an administrator to the concepts and functionality available in the SPF product. The class includes a two day tour of the Desktop Client including basic end user functionality, such as creating new objects, searching and navigation, concurrent engineering and other object manipulations. The remaining three days of the class covers the basics of System Administration, including the security model, Engineering Numbering System (ENS) for document numbering, configuring file storage (vaults), Workflows, Transmittals, and Site Creation setup and configuration. 6 SPF Advanced Administration and Configuration TSPE4510 The SPF Advanced Authoring and Administration course is the second in the Process, Power, and Marine series of classes designed to introduce an administrator and a data model to the SmartPlant 2014 data dictionary and structure. Topics covered in this course provide an introduction and understanding of metaschema and schema concepts, an overview of the SmartPlant Schema definition, and a working knowledge of the Schema Editor. The course illustrates the steps necessary to configure objects within SPF to alter the Out-Of-The-Box functionality. This course also focuses on configuring classified objects, generating and modifying data forms, creating Data Sheets and Data Lists, and configuring methods, menus and toolbars. 7 SmartPlant Integration and Mapping for Tool Experts TSPE5100 The Integration and Mapping for Tool Experts course is designed to introduce a tool expert to the concepts and functionality available in an integrated environment. The class begins with an overview of integration scenarios and integration participants and continues with an introduction to the Common User Interface. This course also covers SmartPlant Foundation setup for integration and explores the details of publish and retrieve processes using SmartPlant P&ID, SmartPlant Instrumentation, SmartPlant Foundation, and SmartPlant 3D. Then, course deals with mapping procedures involving authoring tools, testing the custom mapping and troubleshooting integration issues. The class is presented as a combination of interactive activities followed by occasional hands-on activity periods. 8 Smart Data Validator TSPE7010 Smart Data Validator is a tool used to efficiently load validated data into a target system; production or test environments via an adapter provided to connect to an alternate system. The class covers how the tool is used from a SDV Data Controller perspective, detailing the SDV Job Management processes to import data to a test system and export to a target or production system. As the SDV Data Mapper, the student explores the administration required to configure the mapping between systems, generate rule sets, and validate data from an output source. The configuration of the SDV tool regarding the software installation, site creation, and configuration are covered as SDV Installation requirements to utilize the SDV tool.
