1 Unit 5 Assignment Unit Outcomes Create result set based on queries using Inner joins. Create result set based on queries using Outer joins. Course Outcomes IT350-3: Create SELECT statements that join multiple tables including the use of the INNER JOIN, OUTER JOIN, UNION operators, and subqueries. Directions: Using the Adventure Works Database Create a separate screenshot for each question, Copy your answer separately as text, and place each under the question in a Word document. See Unit 1 Assignment for an example and place each under the question in a Word document. Submit to the Dropbox for the unit Assignment. Answer all of the following eight questions using SQL select statements executed in SQL Server Management Studio. Review The Adventure Works data base schema diagram found in Doc Sharing. Remember that you can expand the tables in the Object Explorer to see the list of table names and then expand the table to see the list of column names. The Assignment questions for Units 2 through 9 are included here in the assignment section for reference and convenience. The questions are also in the Labsfor each unit. It is essential that you do the Assignment questions at the same time that you are doing the labs. Some of the tables used in the Assignments are created while you are doing the Labs. Many questions will work without the Lab information, but some will not. Do the Assignment questions in the same sequence as found in the Labs. This should be quicker and easier for you as well! Q1. Query the Person.BusinessEntityAddress table and the Person.Address Table, display the records where there is an equal (INNER) Join (match) between the AddressID in both tables. Display the AddressID and AddressTypeID from Person.BusinessEntityAddress, and the AddressLine1, City, PostalCode from the Person.Address table. Alias the table names PBEA and PA.

Query the appropriate tables to find out if any people are in the database that do not have an address of any kind, Display the First and Last names of those that do not have addresses (if any) Q4. Run the above query, Examine the results. Change the query so that it uses only Inner (Equal Joins). Examine the results and compare them to the first results, Q5. Look carefully at and analyse the results of the above query - Explain what the query did. Change the query so that it performs RIGHT and Left join queries, Explain How the results differ? Is the keyword "OUTER" Necessary? Q6. Cross join return Cartesian Products, Can Cross Joins Occur inadvertently when writing SQL Select statements that do not contain the CROSS JOIN Keywords? Explain How this can happen? How can you tell if you have Cartesian result set? How can you change a Cross Join Query, so that the results are not Cartesian? (yet it is still a CROSS JOIN) Q7. Create the #Employee Table. Change the above Query so that does a RIGHT JOIN and an INNER JOIN. Analyse and Compare the results of Both. Explain the difference. Q8. Problem Solving Challenge - Your Boss has just asked you to do the following, he was nott all that specific so you know you need to figure some of it out. You know you will need to fill in the details and Create a really good "Order Report" showing all the information- product(name), qty Ordered, Line total, Order Header Information, Customer Information Name and Shipping and Billing addresses (concatenate all information for each address into a separate formatted output column) Note.. There is some deliberate ambiguity and fuzziness in this question; How many and what tables, and how to Join Them, and what fields to select, You want to please your boss and Create the best ORDER REPORT possible so you can keep in the running for a promotion.
