1 Summary This document outlines the key additions, enhancements and changes to the Myprogress product delivered as part of the v6.3.2 release. This release has been carefully built to support customers as they upgrade from previous v6 point releases, with automatic data updates built into the upgrade process. As with previous v6 releases it is important to note that this software is only compatible with v6 mobile apps and problems will occur should users connect and sync data to v4 or v5 mobile apps. In addition, if assessments are created using the v6.3 question type additions (documented in sections 3.5 and 4.4) then these assessments will only be compatible with v6.3 mobile apps. 2 Document change log Myprogress web system Summary of changes and fixes 6.3 Core Myprogress v6.3 product release Provides a range of bug fixes Myprogress ios app Provides a range of bug fixes, some minor enhancements and customer change requests. 4 3 v6.3.2 release details V6.3.2 app release Android: Don t delete attached files/images following an unsuccessful sync - issue The android app was changed to solve an issue caused if there was an interruption during the sync of an assessment response with an attachment (file or image). Before this change the app could sometimes, depending exactly where the interruption was in the sync process, incorrectly assume the interruption as a successful sync and delete the attachment. This then results in the rest of the assessment being unable to sync as there is a missing attachment, and the response was then stuck in the outbox. The app has been changed so images/files are only removed at the end of a successful sync, after the server has received the file. Android: Allow stuck assessments to be submitted without an attached image - issue An issue was identified where assessment responses on the app that expected an attached file or image but had that file deleted for some reason were getting stuck in the outbox and not synching. A change to the app has been made so that if there is a stuck response due to it expecting a file that has been deleted, it submits the repose without an image/file, as that will mean we get the response content to the server (which would allow post submission comments or fixes). Android: Folder creation permissions update - issue On some devices users were not able to save signature images when completing a form. This was due to an issue with the app not having permission to create a folder to save the images to, which now has been changed. Android: Diagnostic app access control enhancement Changes to the MyProgress app have been made enable a companion diagnostic app to access and copy the Myprogress app's database and send it to MKM support for analysis. This is so we can better support users in the future when the app is not sending the server information for any reason. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 4

Sponsored development ios and Android: Show student name and ID on form completion change request To better inform or remind an observer or other user, who a form being completed is about the student name and unique ID will now be displayed at the top of responses when they are being completed on the apps. This development was sponsored by the University of Exeter Medical School. V6.3.2 Web release Question builder loading times enhancement A change to improve the speed of loading the question builder when creating or editing assessments has been added. Privacy exception update mechanism enhancement A mechanism to update privacy exceptions so that responses can be updated to share responses with tutors after they are added to a group after deployment has been added to the manage groups section of the administrator interface. When adding a tutor-style user to the group, checking the Give visibility to historic group deployment responses will share any responses with privacy exceptions (responses can have these for example if an assessment was deployed linked to a group) with that individual. New data on the "Organisational verified assessment score report" enhancement Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 5

Change to the Organisational verified assessment score report. (This report is used by some Myprogress users for reporting on scored questions in an observational assessment deployed to a student). The change is to add the assessor/observer name to the comments sheet. Add observer assessments to dashboards count enhancement Previously dashboards did not count responses to observational assessments deployed to observers in their completion target totals. Dashboards will now count responses to all deployment workflows, if the responses are "about" the student. A new Visibility Diagnostic Report enhancement This new report allows you to select a group containing tutors and/or super-tutors, and a group containing Students, and a set of assessments. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 6

It will then show all responses to those assessments by the selected students, in the selected date range, and which of the chosen tutors/super-tutors can or cannot see the responses and why or why not. Detailed Response report red columns - issue Currently when a column in the DRR is not used on a response (for example when response uses a different version of a question) those columns are shaded red, this was sometimes misconstrued as a warning. Now question columns that a response doesn t include are shaded a more neutral grey colour. MKM context requiring app pool restarts - issue Internal MKM technical issue with sites on the mkmapps.com host. Category deployments in course templates not working for completion targets - issue Deployments by category in course templates were not showing up as available for making completion targets. Changed so that assessments deployed via this mechanism are available to use when making completion targets. Course admin "student responses" page taking long time to load for some customers - issue Some sites were experiencing slowness in the search that makes responses appear in this page. The search query has been tweaked to make this page load faster. Sponsored development: invite improvements change request A record for invite assessments showing which s had been invited as assessors and when has been added to the Invite observations tab on the Completed assessments page. The ability for the student to send reminder invite s after 24 hours has also been added. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 7

This development was sponsored by the University of Bristol Medical School. Sponsored development: Show student name and ID on form completion change request To better inform or remind an observer or other user, who a form being completed is about the student name and unique ID will now be displayed at the top of responses when they are being completed on the apps. Student completing form for themselves: Tutor completing form for student: Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 8

This development was sponsored by the University of Exeter Medical School. Timesheets requiring hours when not appropriate - issue Timesheet activities with time tracking = not required were requiring time entry when completing a timesheet on the web interface. This has been corrected. Removal of the second confirmation step when completing an assessment response on web and app enhancement When completing an assessment if there is no need to select tutors (which may be required if that was selected as a deployment option on a general assessment), the system should no longer asks for a second confirmation that the user wants to submit a form. Applies to web and apps. Add group information to API enhancement Added ability to call for student group membership in the data access API used by some customers for custom reporting. Make visibility "privileges" a configurable feature enhancement The visibilities privileges feature where a user can configure visibility for a particular deployment can cause confusion for many users. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 9

Therefore, this feature has been made configurable and will be defaulted to off unless specifically requested by a customer. If the feature is off, course administrators will no longer see the tutor privileges buttons. Adding unwanted privileges to forms deployed by course template - issue An issue was identified in the beta release course templates whereby unwanted visibility privileges were being assigned to forms deployed by course template to multiple groups at once, this has now been resolved so that form sharing is restricted by group again. General course template stability and function improvements issue The beta release course templates functions have a number of technical issues that may be causing site errors or incomplete processes. This release addresses several known issues with the course templates. However, there are some workflow specific issues still known with course templates that will be resolved in a future release, so please contact your account manager for details before using them. Configurable option for hiding forgotten password link enhancement A configurable option to show/hide the "forgotten password" link on homepage has been added. This is important for sites where users are using Shibboleth or Active Directory as their users reset their passwords away from the Myprogress site. Error on launching "student activity" report - issue Recently users trying to launch the student activity report have been seeing an error message and the report failing to open. This has been corrected and the report is working again. Remove deployment types images from Detailed response report and replace with text key - issue The images that were included in the detailed response report output were causing problems when the output was exported to excel, including issues like creating merged fields that hindered sorting. Our solution has been to change from images to text - as below: Gen - General Ob-E - Observee device Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 10

Ob-R - Observer device Peer Peer assessment A key has been added to the report output summary page indicating what the abbreviations mean. Unable to access tutor overview of students - issue On tutor home page, the overview button was only working if the home button was pressed first. It looks like the button was not loading correctly when first logging in, which has now been corrected. Cross site scripting security causing users to be logged out- issue Some "xss scripting" protections, which we added to the site in a previous release, were performing overzealously when users were completing forms by copying a pasting certain word combinations from other documents. The protections were catching 'document.' and treating it as hostile, so if someone ended a sentence with that word and a full stop, then the protections responded to what it thinks is an attack by logging the user out, which didn t enable them to complete the form. We've modified the config to allow 'document.' and 'window.', and expanded the protections to be more specific to avoid this happening again. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 11

4 v6.3.1 release details Myprogress v6.3.1 is driven by ongoing quality improvement processes and fixes to problems identified via the helpdesk. V6.3.1 App release me for later/all mandatory answers - issue The " me for later" functionality was not compatible with mandatory answer assessments and generated errors when completing the response. These two features will now work together. Double dates - issue Double dates were being seen in some cases where one date picker question was appearing twice. This has been resolved so date questions do not get doubled. Android permissions pop up Android apps need to request permission for the camera and to access the data storage (important for attaching files to responses). The way Android allows access to the app has changed so pop-ups requesting access when installing the app and/or attaching a file have been added. Minor fixes Some other general perforce improvements were included in this release including resolving situational crashes, some display issues and minor workflow problems. V6.3.1 Web release Visibility on student responses list issue The tutors "student responses" list was working via the organisation (like the course admin's does) rather than filtering by group attachment permissions, which could result in inappropriate response visibility. This has been changed to make sure tutor type roles respect the group attachment visibility rules. Surname/First name ordering issue Users were being ordered alphabetically by forename rather than surname in lists. This was linked to the introducing of the display name field in the personal profile. This has been resolved so that names now order alphabetically by surname in lists of users. If display names are used on a site, lists will show display names (as one combined field) alphabetically first and then order by surname for any users without a display name. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 12

Inaccessible Competency Framework report issue The link to a student s competency framework completion report from their Progress and Reports page was no longer showing up. Although students could still access the report from their home page, tutor-type roles and administers could not view the report while viewing the student in review mode. If students are assigned a framework via any of their groups, this link has now been restored. Alert count is being doubled issue Tutor type roles who had observational assessments deployed to them were seeing more alerts than they had assessments to complete, twice as many in fact. The doubling of these alerts has been resolved. Tutors will see one alert for each new assessment deployed to them that they have not yet opened. Assessor name & editing on edit response issue When editing responses to observational assessments as a course administrator, there was a problem when reaching the observer s name and address used to verify the form submission. Rather than the values to these fields being retained for editing, the fields appeared blank. This meant that the record of who completed the form originally was being lost, which wasn t very useful. This has been fixed so course administrators can either leave or edit the observer s name and address as required. Extend gap between course template deployment issue Customers using the Beta release course template functionality reported that sometimes the templates were deploying assessments multiple times to individuals. It was discovered that large course templates deployed to larger groups were not finishing the deployment run for the template before the next run began, which was what was causing the multiple deployments. The spacing between deployment runs has now been extended to 60 minutes to allow more time for them to complete. Assessment scores not showing on reports issue For customers using scored assessments, the total score value for responses was not always being passed to the reporting data warehouse. This release includes a database script that updates the total score table for reporting, so that value will be present in the report outputs. Total scores not being copied to data warehouse - issue For some responses with scored questions, the total score for the response was not being copied to the data warehouse. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 13

This release includes a fix to ensure the total score is copied to the reporting data warehouse. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 14

5 New product functionality delivered 5.1 me for later assessment workflow In some situations, observers are unable to start or complete an observation of a student but are keen to provide their views later. These situations require that a form, or part-completed form, be sent to the observer by so that they can be completed when the observer has the required time available. This enhancement 1 will therefore support 2 slightly different workflows: 1. An observer is keen to provide feedback but cannot at the point of observation. Instead, they ask for a link to the form be ed to them so that they can complete it later. 2. An observer is part way through the completion of a student observation, on a workstation signed into the students account or on a student-owned device, and they are called away. Instead of abandoning the observation they ask for a link to be ed to them so that they can continue completing the form later. An additional workflow that has also been considered as part of this development is where an assessment form is created to contain a section to be completed by a student and a second section to be completed by an observer. In this scenario, the student completes their section before selecting to the assessment to the observer who will then complete their section before submitting the final response. When completing observations using the web interface, users will access their assessment forms as normal and will select to respond now. Once launched, the observer can complete as much or as little of the assessment form as they are able before the finish button is clicked. 1 While many customers may make use of this functionality it is envisaged that some may wish to force all submitted observations to be completed at the time of the observation and will there want this functionality disabling. For this reason, the functionality to a form for later completion has been added as a system configuration option, defaulted to make this functionality available but can be disabled on customer request. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 15

Depending on the type of assessment, the user will be presented with the options 2 available to them a new this assessment to your observer for them to complete later button has been provided against observational assessments. Using this button, the user will be asked to provide the name and address of their observer before clicking the green button to send the . Once submitted 2 The layout, wording and presentation of the buttons provided on this screen have been amended as part of the v6.3 release, as documented in section 4.9. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 16

the user will be shown a confirmation message informing them that the assessment has been sent to their observer. Users completing observations on a student-owned device will access their assessment form as normal, from one of their main assessment lists in the app. When using the Save / submit link in the top menu bar, the user will be presented with a set of options for how they want to submit their assessment. The complete this assessment and save this assessment for later options have remained unchanged but a new option to to your observer to complete has been added to the menu. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 17

Selecting the new menu option prompts the user to provide the name and address of the observer before tapping the OK button to complete the process. Once submitted, the user will be provided with a thank you message ensuring they are told that the form will be ed the next time their device is synced. As it is important that students can track the assessments that they have sent to observers to be completed, a small link has been provided against any assessments where s have been sent to observers (including those triggered on mobile devices). Clicking the link triggers a small popup window showing the name and address used as well as the date and time that the was sent. For s triggered using a mobile device, the date and time shown will reflect when the sync of the device took place as to better reflect when the to the observer was sent. s triggered using mobile devices also create a small record within the responses area of the app so that the user can have visibility of the s they have sent to their observers while away from a PC. These records cannot be tapped and will, again, show the date and time that the request was synced to better reflect when the to the observer was sent. A new template has been provided that is used when assessments are sent to observers for completion: Subject: Your {systemname} assessment of {subjectsdisplayname} Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 18

Dear {name}, You have agreed to provide feedback on {subjectsdisplayname} using {systemname}. You can complete the {assessmentname} form by visiting {assessmenturl} in a web browser. When prompted please enter the address { } to access the form. Any content you have previously provided will be included in the form automatically. {deadlinemessage} If you experience any problems or require any assistance then please {support }. Regards, The {systemname} team {support } When sent, this provides an message like: To: frank.hamilton@hospital.org From: support@university.com Subject: Your Myprogress assessment of Dave Waller Dear Frank Hamilton, You have agreed to provide feedback on Dave Waller using Myprogress. You can complete the Mini Clinical Evaluation Exercise form by visiting in a web browser. When prompted please enter the address frank.hamilton@hospital.org to access the form. Any content you have previously provided will be included in the form automatically. If you experience any problems or require any assistance then please support@university.com. Regards, The Myprogress team support@university.com In the same way as an invite assessment (or when viewing a completed response using an link) the observer is required to provide the address that was used when the assessment was sent. Once entered, the observer is provided with the web interface for completing their response, in the same way as an invite / MSF observer would. Any information provided in the assessment form before it was ed will be automatically added to the response. Responses completed in this way store progress as the observer moves between questions, allowing the response to be completed over several sessions. If the link provided in the sent to the observer is used again, they are taken to their response with the latest set of saved response data automatically added. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 19

Once completed, observers can submit their response but cannot, however, alter their name and address. Observers are then presented with a thank you message in the same way as invite observers once their response has been submitted. As with other observational assessment workflows, the observer will receive a final confirming that they have provided feedback on a student. This uses the existing template used for observational assessments and will provide them with a link to view their completed response for 30 days. 5.2 Assessment ordinals Assessment ordinals provide a mechanism for course administrators to determine the order in which assessment forms are shown to students in both the web interface and their mobile apps. When editing an assessment form, an optional numerical value can be assigned to a form to determine its placement within the ordering of all the forms provided to students. Values can range from 1 to 9999, or left blank to remove the ordinal from the form. When viewing assessments to be completed, both in the web interface and the mobile apps, default ordering of forms will be by ordinal in ascending order. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 20

Once all assessments with ordinals have been listed, those that do not have an ordinal will be shown and ordered by deployment date. Ordering by assessment ordinal can, of course, be switched to ordering by deployment date (newest to oldest as well as oldest to newest) and by assessment name (A to Z and Z to A). 5.3 Mandatory questions The assessment authoring tool and completion interfaces (both on the web and on mobile devices) have been extended to support the concept of mandatory questions. Specified when an assessment form is constructed, questions can be marked as mandatory or optional. Those marked as mandatory must be completed as users respond to assessments, while all optional questions can be left blank if required. The use of mandatory questions can still be overridden using the user must answer all questions option at deployment. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 21

Using this option when deploying an assessment for will force all questions to be mandatory in the same way as pre-v6.3 releases. 5.4 Question library filtering To improve performance of the assessment authoring component, and to provide authors with a more appropriate range of available questions, a new question library filter has been added. This filter defaults to only show questions that exist within the current assessment form but can be switched to show: - Only questions created by the author editing the assessment form - Only questions created by authors in the same organisation as the author editing the assessment form - All questions available to the user (matching the list available in pre-v6.3 releases) Please note: When creating new assessment forms, the list of available questions will appear empty as the show questions in this assessment option will be automatically selected. To reuse existing questions from other forms please select one of the other filters to re-load the question list. 5.5 New question types Data picker question type The existing group picker and placement picker questions types have been merged to provide a simpler set of question options for form authors. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 22

The new data picker question type provides similar options and allows an author to decide whether their question requires users to select a group (using a specified group type) or a placement. A final option has been added that will allow the user completing the assessment to provide a grade as part of the response. Selecting to use a grade will allow the author to pick which of the available grading schemes should be provided to the user completing the response. Any responses submitted with a grade selected will be automatically graded as they are received by the system. These grades can be overwritten by a course administrator of other faculty member but this workflow allows for observers to directly grade the students they observe. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 23

Signature sign-off question type The existing signature question type has been extended to include the ability to capture a date 3 alongside the signature. This functionality, while relatively straightforward, allows form authors to more closely replicate traditional sign-off sections found on paper-based assessment forms. 5.6 Tutor self-assessments / general-assessments New functionality has been added to allow tutors and super-tutors to complete general/self-assessments. This functionality allows course administrators to select students, tutors and super-tutors as recipients when deploying forms. 3 Date capture as part of sign-off questions can also include validation as outlined in section 4.4. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 24

Forms deployed to tutors show under the Assessments for you to complete menu item and this list will show both general assessments and observational assessments. Tutors that use the mobile apps will also be provided with an assessments section in their app allowing them to complete general assessments offline in the same way as students. Any responses to general assessments can be found under the Responses to general assessments menu item. 5.7 Simple group archiving While not a true archiving function, the ability to archive groups and hide them from view has been added to v6.3. When editing the details of a group it can be archived using the archived checkbox. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 25

While archived groups will be hidden from view from many interfaces, they can be shown in the manage users administration screen by toggling the show archived option. Archived groups can be un-archived at any time by editing them and unchecking the archived checkbox. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 26

6 Key product enhancements 6.1 Improved delete from device process Improved logic has been implemented within the Android and ios apps to better support deleting of assessment forms without them being re-synced in error. 6.2 Changes to initial mobile-sync data range Changes have been made to the way that the first sync performed using the mobile apps is processed to pass a more flexible amount of assessments than just those deployed within the past 30 days. Defined as a system-wide setting, any number of days (up to 999 days) can be provided and this is used to define how much data is transferred to devices the first time they sync E.g. a setting of 100 will transfer all assessments deployed within the past 100 days. This functionality is particularly useful when users change devices part way through an academic year, get an additional device that they wish to use or are required to reinstall their application. 6.3 Removal of hard-limit on dashboard data ranges Dashboards in pre-v6.3 releases had been provided with a hard limit of 120 days of data which many customers had found to be restrictive. Common use cases suggested that students should be able to track their completions across the whole of their academic year and, in many cases, across their course. To better support these dashboard implementations, the 120-day hard limit has been removed and the system now falls back to an installation-wide setting with no maximum value 4. 4 While systems can be configured with no maximum value for the amount of data returned in dashboards, care should be taken to balance reporting data with system performance. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 27

6.4 Question type changes Date question validation options A range of new validation options have been added to the existing date picker question. These options allow a question author to specify whether the dates entered by users completing assessment forms must be: - A date in the past - The current date or a date in the past - The current date - The current date or a date in the future - A date in the future Choosing to use no additional validation will allow users to enter any date as their response, as the system previously allowed Auto-populated Likert tables A new option has been added to the existing Likert rating matrix question that, when enabled, will automatically populate the rows of the table with the names of each user in a selected group. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 28

Columns can be created in the same way as a standard Likert table and the assessment form author can specify whether the list of users should include only students or should be made up of all users in the group. This enhancement allows for the creation of traditional registration forms or whole group observations. Please note, the addition of scores and score values is not provided when Likert tables are created in this way. At the point of authoring, the question is not tied to a specific group of users, allowing it to be reused across multiple forms and deployments. When a form is deployed linked to a group, Myprogress will process the form and build the Likert table based on the users within the selected group at the time the form is deployed Support for default question responses Support has been added to a range of different question types for providing users with default values. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 29

These defaults will be automatically added to these questions when users come to complete them and can, if needed, be replaced with an alternate response. Question types that now support default answers are: - Multiple choice questions - Dropdown list questions - Free text response questions - Rich text box questions - address questions - Numerical value questions Please note: When assigning default values to questions that are marked, users will only be awarded marks for questions that were viewed or altered when the response was completed - this applies to both automatically-marked and manually-marked questions Improved support for dropdown list options Restrictions imposed by both the Android and ios mobile operating systems can cause long text options in dropdown list questions to become truncated or cut short. While these restrictions are outside of the control of the Myprogress app, changes have been made to the amount of allowable text when authoring dropdown list questions. These changes, while a little restrictive, will ensure that all users are provided with an improved user experience with the accuracy of assessment forms maintained. 6.5 Improved app deadline warnings Due to the delayed nature of completing assessment responses offline and then syncing devices later, there is potential that a response could be completed before Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 30

a deadline is reached but the deadline passes 5 before the response is synced from the device. With a lot of deadlines used across customer installations are set to accept late responses there are many that are set to reject late responses from students. Changes have been made to both the Android and ios apps to better detect when responses are to be rejected and users are notified that one or more of their responses are passed their deadline. Rather than being automatically removed, late responses are held within the user s device outbox where: - They are held and if the assessment deadline is extended they are synced and submitted - They are manually deleted from the device by the user 6.6 Optional pull down to sync functionality While a common mobile user interface component, feedback has suggested that the pull down to sync function within the mobile app listing screens can become annoying. This is more even more acute when users have large lists they wish to scroll through or slower devices that may not provide a smooth animation. 5 The model implemented for assessment deadlines within Myprogress requires that responses be both completed and handed in (synced) before the deadline for them to be accepted. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 31

To better support these users a new personal setting has been provided that disables the pull down to sync component, meaning users must actively tap their sync button to initiate a device sync. 6.7 View response link for all observers Observers who complete observational assessment responses on student devices are provided with an confirming their involvement in the response. Changes have been made to ensure that all observers are provided with a link to view their response in addition to a prompt to sign into the Myprogress system, if they already have an account. Changes have been made to the Completed observation (by an existing mentor) template to allow it to use the {responseurl} keyword as well as some minor amendments to the default content of this template. Dear {observername}, On {observationdate} you were recorded as having completed an observation of {subjectsfirstname} {subjectslastname} using the {assessmentname} form. This has been sent to you as a record that this observation was recorded and you can view the contents of the submission using the link {responseurl}. This link will be available for 30 days from the date the observation was completed. Alternatively, you can log into {systemname} at {systemurl} using your username and password. This provides a default template of: Dear {observername}, On {observationdate} you were recorded as having completed an observation of {subjectsfirstname} {subjectslastname} using the {assessmentname} form. This has been sent to you as a record that this observation was recorded. If you have any questions or concerns about this please contact {support } directly. If you'd like to review the response that was submitted then this can be viewed at {responseurl} and will be available for 30 days from the date the observation was completed. Thanks, The {systemname} team - {support } Additional changes have been made to the way that externally visible responses work, ensuring that all observational responses can be viewed by the observer without the need to sign into the Myprogress web application. 6.8 New save progress button for online responses To provide added reassurance when completing large assessment forms, or even large responses to questions within forms, a new save progress button has been added to the online assessment completion interface. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 33

Clicking this new button saves all progress made on the assessment response, including anything entered into text boxes or rich text editors on the current question. A small progress saved message will appear in the top of the interface and users can continue to edit their response without the need to move between questions or reopen the response as a draft. 6.9 Revised assessment response completion buttons Improvements have been made to the layout, styling and wording applied to the buttons when an assessment response is completed. These changes, while small, provide additional clarity to users when completing responses New UI to unlock locked user accounts Introduced as a security measure, users will have their accounts temporarily locked if they fail to provide their correct password after 10 attempts 6. Previous 6 Please note that the number of failed logins required to lock an account can be tailored per installation but is defaulted to 10. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 34

releases have required that locked accounts be unlocked by the Myknowledgemap helpdesk. Accounts that have been locked can be unlocked by system administrators and course administrators using the edit user page. 7 Technical enhancements 7.1 Improved response button logic Changes have been made to the logic processing of the buttons within the online assessment response interface to better prevent multiple submission of question response content. Buttons temporarily disable as data is transmitted to the server and will only re-enable once response data has been successfully saved. 7.2 Improved dashboard stability A range of minor amendments have been made to the way in which dashboard data is requested, processed and stored to provide greater stability and reliability when viewing and using dashboards. 7.3 Low impact security improvements As part of ongoing codebase maintenance, a range of technical enhancements have been made based on feedback from recent penetration testing exercises. While these changes have minimal impact on end users they do provide greater system security and improved protection from malicious attack. Key changes made included: Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 35

- Introduction of a new system configuration option 7 to disable the ability of web browsers to store passwords that are entered into the Myprogress login page. - Page headers have been altered to better employ HTTPS, further preventing click-jacking and cross site scripting attacks. - Changes across the web application to ensure that authentication cookies can only be submitted over HTTPS. 7.4 Low impact report amendments Some minor changes have been made to the way that hyperlinks are used when exporting reports for Excel. 8 New functionality available to beta test Functionality detailed in this section is, by default, disabled in all customer sites due to either the complex nature of the functionality or the potential for errors to occur unless adequate training is provided. If you would like to evaluate this functionality in your system, or to arrange the creation of a v6.3 UAT (User Acceptance Testing) site, please speak to your account manager or with a member of the Myknowledgemap support team. 8.1 Course templates Previously called deployment profiles, course templates provide an easy way for course leaders and course administrators to structure assessment forms into reusable templates that can be automatically deployed as users become members of specified groups. 7 This setting is switched off by default, allowing users to store their passwords in their browsers. It can, however, be enabled should you wish to provide an added layer of site security. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 36

Assessment forms can be added to templates and sequenced using a day offset value based on the start date of the template. Additional functionality has been provided to copy and edit existing templates should minor changes be required. Once created, templates are assigned to groups and forms are automatically deployed to users as they become members of the group. 8.2 Myshowcase integration Provided as a first phase beta integration, v6.3 supports a range of integrated functionality to allow students to extend the life of their assessment responses by pushing them into their personal, lifelong Myshowcase account. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 37

Enabling the integration Using an administration account in the Myshowcase system a secure connection code is generated that can be entered into the integrations administration screen in the Myprogress admin area. Once entered, the Myprogress organisation and the Myshowcase organisation will be linked. Additional settings can be tailored to affect the presentation of Myprogress responses within Myshowcase accounts, including the name of the Myprogress system and the colours to be used against relevant icons. To retain a level of institutional control over what can and can t be shared to Myshowcase accounts, administrators can define against each assessment form Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 38

whether it s responses can be shared or must remain private within the Myprogress system Linking personal Myshowcase accounts Once connected at an organisation level, users can connect their individual Myprogress user accounts to their personal Myshowcase account. This is completed using the Myshowcase account tab 8 when editing their personal profiles. Once entered, a number checks take place to ensure that the connection between accounts is valid Pushing responses to Myshowcase Against each appropriate response students are provided with a send to Myshowcase button 9 that can be used to initiate the packaging and push of the selected response to the connected Myshowcase account. 8 Please note that this tab will only be available to users in an organisation that is already connected to a Myshowcase organisation. 9 Please note that send to Myshowcase buttons will only appear to users in an organisation that is connected to Myshowcase and against responses to assessments that are set to be shared. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 39

Responses that are sent to Myshowcase are compiled into PDF documents and are automatically added to the user s Myshowcase account labelled with branding and system name set when the administrator defined the integration. Myprogress v6.3 release notes (r5 v6.3.2) 40
