2 Project Update The Group Ticker Plant project is progressing well the Group remains on target to deliver Phase 1 of a world-leading real-time information services solution in Q Phase 1: 10 depth 150ms snapshots of the Order Book (London Stock Exchange and Borsa Italiana markets including IDEM), a real-time incremental Level 1 service, enhanced statistics and reference data, FTSE indices and FTSE Low Latency. Our project microsite was made available in May The content will be increased over the coming months to support clients through both Phase 1 and Phase 2 of Group Ticker Plant service introduction. A subset of our Product Guides, including GTP001 Product Guide and GTP002 Technical Guide, were released in June As we announced in Q4 2011, the CDS environment will be made available in late July The Group anticipates this to be WC 30 July 2012 this will be confirmed in due course. The Group remains on target to deliver Phase 2 in H

3 Communications The Group Ticker Plant project will provision a number of key guides in an attempt to facilitate client migrations from legacy services to new Group Ticker Plant services. Clients should ensure they are registered on the project mailing list available on the project microsite. 3

4 Client Connectivity (1) The Group Ticker Plant will launch service lines through a period of parallel run alongside legacy market data services. Clients should ensure appropriately sized connections exist to the Group to ensure parallel run is possible without impact on Production services. The Group Ticker Plant has been designed to be as bandwidth efficient as possible, through: Designing a binary, clean and functionally rich protocol stripped of legacy or unnecessary information which you, our clients, have expressed that is no longer used; Carefully designing our multicast channel structure to load balance our services and deliver information to customer cleanly and without noise; Employing Replay and Recovery solutions to facilitate data recovery. The Group Ticker Plant is not guaranteed data delivery (unlike DDM-Plus) and clients may be required to upgrade existing circuits to ensure delivery of required data sets. Depending on the required circuit, there may be a commercial charge uplift. 4

5 Client Connectivity (2) To facilitate clients in their choice of circuit provision, the Group will shortly make available the Group Ticker Plant bandwidth calculator: The bandwidth calculator will be available on the project microsite. Clients should note that figures included are indicative and provided on a best endeavors basis to assist in bandwidth planning. 5

6 Legacy Services: DDM-Plus As previously communicated, the Group will decommission legacy platforms and protocols when it is appropriate to do so. Business-critical functionality offered by DDM-Plus (A1, A2 or A3) is being provisioned as at Phase 1 service introduction (Q4 2012) of Group Ticker Plant. Clients using these services should migrate as part of Phase 1 service introduction. A1, A2 and A3 DDM-Plus services will be decommissioned in March 2013 prior to Group Ticker Plant Phase 2 service introduction. Business-critical functionality offered by DDM-Plus (A4 or A5) is being provisioned as at Phase 2 service introduction (H1 2013) of Group Ticker Plant. Clients using these services should migrate as part of Phase 2 service introduction. A4 and A5 DDM-Plus services will be decommissioned in May 2013 The Group has worked in close collaboration with clients, to build a functionally rich, performant and robust market data solution which better represents the needs of our clients, our evolving industry and our business needs. 6

11 Customer Connectivity (1) All Group Ticker Plant services will be delivered over a number of load balanced Multicast channels in a similar setup to that of Millennium Exchange. There will be 41 Multicast channels supporting our service line data publication as part of Phase 1 service introduction. 39 Multicast channels supporting order book data publication 3 channels (Level 1, Level 2 MBO, Level 2 MBP) for each data set; 2 Multicast channels supporting FTSE indices and FTSE Low Latency. The Market Data Group (channel identifier) will be identical across the data sets. Each Service line will, however, have a different source IP address. 12 Customer Connectivity (2) Client connectivity requirements, in particular bandwidth, are driven by a clients requirement for Group Ticker Plant service lines each clients requirements will differ. The Group is currently analysing results of testing and bandwidth models in an effort to ensure we accurately predict client bandwidth requirements for go-live of Group Ticker Plant Phase 1 services. We expect to release indicative bandwidth requirements for go-live of Group Ticker Plant services W/C 23 July Whilst Group Ticker Plant services can be parallel run alongside legacy market data services, this will only be permitted when appropriate bandwidth is available. The Group will provision the bandwidth calculator in an effort to assist clients in projecting their connectivity requirements. Client bandwidth requirement for CDS access is minimal. 12

13 Customer Development Service (CDS) (1) Our CDS environment will be made available WC 30 July A release note will be prepared and distributed to clients WC 23 July 2012 this release note will detail any known defects in the codeset to be promoted to the CDS environment. The CDS environment is based in London, with access provisioned to Extranex, BItNet, Exchange Hosting and NSP customers over the LSEG London-Milan backbone. The CDS environment daily lifecycle will mirror that of our current trading and information systems. CDS is designed as a functional environment only. Clients should not expect to be able to performance test or performance tune applications on CDS. As such, CDS throttle rates will be set low and data throughputs will be minimal. The Group will provision load injection and forced failure on the CDS environment in an effort to assist customers in their testing. 13

14 Customer Development Service (CDS) (2) Access to the CDS environment as usual for Borsa Italiana markets will be free for accredited ISVs, Info Providers and Member Firms. Clients should liaise with their Technical Account Manager to gain access to the CDS environment. Clients will be required to complete a Customer Request Form (CRF) in a similar approach to that of the Millennium Exchange environments. The Group will shortly publish our Guide to Testing Services. This will contain further information on our testing services and customer requirements to certify ahead of Production go-live. The Group will shortly publish GTP004 Parameters Guide this will contain all product parameters, including CDS network addressing. Clients should note that as FTSE Low Latency is not included in the current issue of GTP002 Technical Guide, it will not be provisioned in the July CDS release. FTSE Low Latency will be provided on CDS at a later date. 14
