Just Add Power has rolled out the DeLorean, loaded it with Plutonium and banana peels, and jumped back to the future with an IR blaster in-hand. The IR Dongle aka Flux Capacitor (FLUX) adds IR-functionality to Just Add Power by converting the serial port into an IR blaster. Included The following hardware is included with the Flux Capacitor. 1. IR Blaster mm-to-3.5mm stereo plug cable 3. USB A Male to Micro USB cable 4. USB power tab Y cable IR Blaster USB A Male to Micro USB Stereo plug USB power tap

4 Flux Capacitor Serial-to-IR Converter Just Add Power HD over IP Page4 Quick Setup 1. Update all Just Add Power devices to firmware A5.31 FC+4+ or later. This can be done manually or with JADConfig or later. 2. Enable Layer 3 routing 3. Set the serial mode on the Just Add Power Receiver to Type 3 and baud rate to 9600 a. Log into the web interface of the Receiver b. Go to the Functions tab c. Scroll down to Serial over IP and select Type 3 CLI Access d. Set baud rate to none-1 (default setting) 4. Connect the 3 ports on the Flux Capacitor a. USB port use USB micro cable to connect to 5V power supply b. RS232 port use appropriate cable to connect to Just Add Power serial port c. IR port connect to IR blaster 5. Use control system to send IR codes, or open a TCP socket to the IP address of the Just Add Power device on port 4998 and send Pronto or Global Cache IR codes followed by a carriage return.

The router in the system supports Static Routing. Add a Static Route to the router. 2. Change the default gateway of the control system.

If it does not, follow Change Default Gateway instructions instead. 2. Locate the Static Route information in the JADConfig Report 3. Log into the router Static Route section. Static Route is often in Network, Routing, or Advanced sections. Static Route page on a Luxul ABR Enter the Static Route information from the JADConfig Report into the router. If asked for a Metric, use 10. Static Route information from JADConfig Report Adding Static Route to Luxul ABR Done. All devices on the network can access Just Add Power devices.

Use this method if the router does not support Static Routing or to limit which devices can access Just Add Power devices. 1. Locate the Static Route information in the JADConfig Report Static Route information from JADConfig Report 2. Access the IP details of the computer/control system. 3. Manually set the IP details so that the Default Gateway of the computer/control system matches the Default Gateway given in the JADConfig Report. Manually set Default Gateway Note: Devices will still have internet access as long as DNS information is entered correctly. 4. Done. The computer/control system can now access Just Add Power devices.

In Connections under Network, set the IP Address of the Universal GC Device to the IP address of the Just Add Power device that the Flux Capacitor is connected to. 3. In Connections under Control/AV, select the IR_OUT connector on the Universal GC Device and connect it to the TV that it will be controlling. Done!

TxRxComms.rtidriver to send IR codes to the Flux Capacitor jap.flux.rtidriver TxRxComms.rtidriver 2. In the Just Add Power Flux Interface driver, apply these settings: a. TCP Address IP address of the Just Add Power device that the Flux Capacitor is connected to Flux Capacitor IP settings 3. In the Just Add Power TxRxComms driver, apply these settings: a. TCP Address IP address of the Just Add Power device that the Flux Capacitor is connected to b. Serial Port Mode CLI Access to Single Device c. Baud Rate 9600 d. Bits 8 e. Parity None f. Stop Bits 1 g. License Key The license key for the RTI processor (same license key as switching driver) TxRxComms Settings

Drag the IR code onto a panel. It will create a button with the IR code assigned to it. 6. Right-click on the button and choose Copy. This will copy both the button and the command on the button. Copy IR Command 7. Paste the copied IR code into the Send RTI IR option in the Just Add Power Flux Interface driver a. Create a command or macro b. Select the Just Add Power Flux Interface driver Send RTI IR option c. Paste the copied command into the IR Command box and set Repeat Count d. Drag into the main window to add the command to the macro Note: If using Global Cache IR codes, use the Send GC IR option instead Paste IR Command into Send RTI IR on Just Add Power Flux Interface driver 8. Activate the button/macro to send the IR code. Done!

Telnet to the IP address of the Just Add Power device at port Enter IR commands in one of the following syntaxes: a. Where Pronto codes are used and \r is a carriage return: \r b. 22 Flux Capacitor Serial-to-IR Converter Just Add Power HD over IP Page22 Troubleshooting It is not working There are many parts to making a Flux Capacitor function correctly. Check these parts: 1. Layer 3 is enabled Ping the Just Add Power device from a device with the correct network settings for Layer volt power applied to Flux Capacitor This can be done by the included Y-cable, a power outlet, the USB port on a 2G+ or 3G+ device, or an active 5V USB port on an endpoint device. 3. Serial cable and Null Modem jumper position are correct Feed the serial output of the Just Add Power device into a computer serial terminal (like PuTTY) to confirm that commands are being sent out of the Just Add Power device as expected. See Just Add Power Connections for pinout information. 4. IR codes for the TV are correct Try sending the IR codes through another method to confirm that the IR codes are correct. 5. Control system has been configured correctly
