3 Prerequisites Lab 1 Installing all the prerequisites xxxxx Minutes Scenario Sample Informatica Cloud Connector helps in understanding how to use the connector in DSS tasks and how to change it through cloud SDK (JDBC Connector). In this document you will learn how to integrate the relational databases (e.g. MySQL) with other endpoints. In this lab, you will install JDK 1.7, Apache ANT, 32 bit Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers, MySQL Server, Workbench and Connector/J, and Secure Agent from the Developer Instance. Goals In this lab, you will: Instructions Install all the prerequisites required for this class: JDK 1.7 Apache ANT 1. Install JDK 1.7 (32 bit) 32 bit Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers MySQL Server, Workbench and Connector/J Secure Agent from the Developer Instance Uninstall older versions of JDK/JRE if previously installed. (Informatica secure agent will only run with 32 bit (x86) 1.7.x JVM) Download JDK. Choose Java SE Development Kit 7 Update 25 (Windows x86) or higher: ndex.html 3

4 Follow the instructions for setup Add the JDK bin directory to your PATH and also set JAVA_HOME environment variable Note: User shall have only one instance (version) of java installation in the system. 2. Install Apache ANT Download ANT: (Preferably.zip file) Follow the setup instructions Add ANT_HOME variable and %ANT_HOME%\bin to your Path environment variable Steps for setting up an environment: o o Click on Windows - > search for environment variables -> Click on Edit environment variables for your account. Click on New under System variables -> Name the variable and Copy the path where the file is downloaded -> OK bit Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers Download the latest version from ( From the Eclipse menu choose Windows > Preferences In the preferences dialogue navigate to Java > Build Path > User Libraries Click on New and enter rdtm for User Library Name and 4

5 4. click OK Choose rdtm from the library list and click on Add JARs In the file dialogue navigate to <Informatica Cloud Secure Agent>\main\bin\rdtm\javalib folder Select all jar files in javalib folder and click Open Install MySQL Server, Workbench and Connector/J o Download the MySQL Community Server ( o Install the server and workbench. o Create the schema, table and fields on server through workbench (use help from mysql in case required on how to create schema table and fields). o E.g. Schema: Sampletest, Table: sample, Fields: id, name o Creating a schema. Click on create schema -> Name your schema -> Click on apply. Dialog box appears for the confirmation. Click Ok. Click on Apply on SQl review script and Click on Finish. o 5

6 o Review SQL script is shown below: o Create a table: Your schema is seen under Navigator. Select your schema by double clicking on it and expand the schema. Right click on Tables and Click on Create table as shown below. Name your table and make sure you are creating a table for the relevant schema by cross checking the Schema name as shown below. Create a column under Column name and select the Datatype. Click on Apply. Click Ok and Finish. 6

7 o Inserting values into Columns: Right click on the Table name you created - > Select rows limit Right click on Column -> Copy to clipboard -> Insert statement. Paste it on the clipboard and insert the values into the column. Click on the execute icon to insert. You can see the changes you made under output. Right click on the Table name you created - > Select rows limit Here you can see the table with inserted values. Click on Export/Import icon under Result Grid as shown below. Select the path and Save it as (.csv). o Download the JDBC Driver for MySQL ( o Install the driver. Note down the directory where it gets installed as this will be needed when creating the JDBC connector. Note: To start and stop MySQL Server, user can also do it through services in windows. 7

8 5. Install Secure Agent from the Developer Instance Register for a new developer account in following environment if you don t already have one: Download and install an agent o (If you have an existing agent that you have installed from production org, then uninstall it first) Login to your dev org: Click on Configure >Secure Agents Click on the Download Agent... button Once the Secure Agent download has finished, run the agent_install.exe (double click) 8

9 In the installation wizard accept all defaults and click Install Click Done to close the installation wizard Wait for the Secure Agent UI to show the registration screen Enter your Dev org credentials and click Register 9
