2 Name of Solution: XML Reporter For Informatica Power Center Business Requirement: Automates the process of code review and generates a report in few seconds. Solution URL: <blank as of now> Supported Versions: Description: XML Reporter For Informatica Power Center is the simple tool designed to support the Informatica Power Center Developers, in order to analyze the workflows and the mappings they create using Informatica. The tool has been created keeping simplicity in mind. <TOOL_NAME>, the review tool automates the process of reviewing and generates the reports within fraction of seconds and thus saves the time needed to review the code. XML Reporter for Informatica Power Center takes the following Inputs: Workflow Attribute File. Workflow Configuration File. Mapping Attribute File. Mapping Configuration File. Mapping Attribute File. XML of the WorkFlow that needs to be reviewed. The Attribute files are used to generate the Detailed Reports and the Configuration files are used to generate the Validation Reports. Note: If the users of the tool need to ignore any of the properties in any attribute files they can avoid the details of the property getting displayed by commenting it using the tilde (~).

3 Eg: Note: If the users of the tool wish to skip the validation report of any particular property then they can check the property skip in the configuration file using the option Y. 4 1. Workflow Details: This report displays the property and value pair of the properties that is specified in the Workflow Attribute File. General: The details under this field displays the general details of the workflow such has: Description, Name, Valid (ISVALID), Server Details, Scheduler Details etc.,

5 Properties: This field displays the details that the user specifies in the properties tab of the Workflow popup. Variables: This field displays the details of the variables defined in the workflow. Events: This field displays the events that are defined in the workflow. Metadata Extensions: This field displays the details of the Metadata Extension defined for the Workflow. 2. Mapping Details: This report displays the details of the mapping and the mapplets that are defined in the workflow. Here also Informatica Developer(s) can ignore any of the properties by commenting with the tilt (~) symbol. Details of Source(s) used in this workflow: This field displays the details of the source(s) defined in the mapping/mapplet of the Workflow. Details of Target(s) used in this workflow: This field displays the details of the target(s) defined in the mapping/mapplet of the Workflow. Details of Mapplet (s) /Mapping (s) defined in this workflow: This field displays the details of the mapplet(s) defined in the mapping/mapplet of the Workflow. Details of Transformation (s) defined in the workflow: <Mapping/Mapplet_Name> This field displays the details of the transformation(s) defined in the mapping/mapplet of the Workflow. Details of Transform Field(s) used in this workflow: <Transformation_Name> :<Mapping/Mapplet_Name>

Mapping Variable details of: <Mapping/Mapplet_Name> This field displays the details of the mapping variables defined in the mapping and mapplet. 3. Session Details: This report displays the details of the session(s) defined in the workflow. Default Session Config Properties: This field displays the details of the default config properties values, that is applicable to all the sessions defined in the workflow. General Details of Session: <Session_Name>: <Mapping_Name> This field displays the details of the session properties. Specific Session Properties: <Session_Name> This field displays the properties of the session that differs from the default config properties. 4. Workflow Validation: This is the validation report of the workflow. The tool takes the prefix value that is specified for a particular task in workflow configuration file validates the tasks defined in the workflow accordingly. If the names of the tasks match with the prefix values defined in the Workflow config file, name of the task would be defined in the blue color else it will be defined in the red color. Users of the tool are also provided with the option of adding the additional properties and skipping the properties which they need not feel to compare. Steps to implement the solution: Download the Tool from Informatica Marketplace web site. Download the input files from the Informatica Marketplace web site. Open command prompt and perform the below steps: a. Open the folder that contains the jar file that you downloaded in command prompt. b. Type the following command to run the tool: Java jar <name_of_the_ tool>. Jar <configfiles_folder_pathname> <wkfxml_folder_path_name> c. Once after you run the above command you can find the.html files gets generated in the folder which contains the jar file. Note: The configuration and the attribute files that we have provided in the download contents is a skeletal structure. We have provided the options to the users to add or skip the properties as per their requirement.
