1 WaveDevice: Software The WaveDevice application framework delivers comprehensive Layer 1-7 testing of a full gamut of Wi-Fi-enabled client devices smartphones, tablets, laptops, patient monitors, printers, gaming consoles, TVs, and the like. WaveDevice equips manufacturers to baseline the performance of a device under test (DUT) under both ideal and challenging conditions, allowing engineers to find and fix issues each step of the way. The solution offers distinct advantages such as ease of configuration, repeatability, stress-testing, and automation that deliver comprehensive testing while meeting aggressive time-to-market deadlines. Utilizing WaveAgent, a small application running on the DUT, device behavior and performance are measured from the exact point of view of the ultimate enduser. The WaveDevice framework allows the DUT to be tested against hundreds of combinations of AP settings with a single click of a button. This provides considerable insight into troubleshooting issues when the device is exposed to similar real-world conditions. In addition, the DUT can simultaneously be tested in the presence of multiple active Wi-Fi clients that contend for the same medium. This approach gives users the ability to measure and optimize performance of the DUT under busy deployment conditions. Similarly, with the support for multiple APs, WaveDevice can emulate several sophisticated deployment models in the lab and enable users to test several smart features of a DUT like advanced association or roaming algorithms. 5 Specifications Features WaveDevice Framework GUI and Simple Test Description WaveDevice framework interface enables hundreds of different combinations of AP settings ranging from legacy (802.11a/b/g) and n to 4x4 MIMO ac.
