1 IxNetwork QuickTest TM IxNetwork QuickTests offer a powerful, customizable test environment to automate the performance, scalability, and functional testing of network devices. QuickTests provide a simple-to-use graphical user interface to configure custom automated test scenarios and analyze test results. Using the capabilities of Ixia test hardware such as wire-speed traffic generation, filtering, capturing, and statistics collection, QuickTests provide a rich suite of pre-built tests based on industry standard RFCs and customer requirements. Test results are collected and presented with a flexible set of functions, including real-time graphs presenting test execution progress, formatted reports for detailed post-test analysis, and detailed test execution logs. As a test harness, QuickTests offer a full featured, interactive test environment designed to easily customize the packaged tests as well as add custom tests to the already substantial test library. 2 IxNetwork QuickTests are comprised of a comprehensive list of package test suites covering basic traffic tests, asymmetric traffic profile tests, routing protocol scalability tests, access performance tests and a variety of specialized tests designed to target common breakpoints in network elements. IxNetwork QuickTests incorporate an easy-to-use interface that takes users through the process of configuring the test step by step, with validation along the way to ensure all the settings are completed. The individual tests have unique configuration wizards specific to the goal of the test. IxNetwork QuickTest Wizards Multiple tests may be configured and saved in a single IxNetwork configuration file for easy reuse. QuickTests can also be customized through IxNetwork s Test Composer. Test Composer allows the user to insert custom commands such as those used to interact with the device under test for configuring and measuring performance. Page 2

3 QuickTest Composer with DUT Interactions At the end of each test run, QuickTests automatically generate a set of results including a formatted report that summarizes the results of the test and a set of results data in a simple to use CSV format. These results may be quickly evaluated and analyzed to determine why the DUT performed as it did. The DUT cannot forward the amount of traffic to the congested port and as a result it is also losing frames destined to the uncongested port. 5 RFC 3918 Test Suite, includes: Aggregated Multicast Throughput Test, determines a DUT's ability to maintain IP multicast traffic throughput when a fixed number of clients are re-distributed among fewer subnets. Burdened Group Join Delay Test, determines how long it takes a DUT to register multicast clients to a new group or to a group that already exists in the DUT's forwarding table, while forwarding meshed traffic as an interacting factor. Burdened Multicast Latency Test, measures the DUT's ability to forward multicast traffic with acceptable latency while forwarding meshed unicast traffic as an interacting factor. Forwarding Latency Test, measures the average, minimum and maximum latencies of multicast frames sent to clients on multiple subnets (ports). Group Join/Leave Delay, determines how long it takes a DUT to register multicast clients to a new group or to a group that already exists in the DUT's forwarding table, and how long it takes a DUT to remove a client from its multicast table. Group Join Rate, determines the maximum Multicast Group Join Rate of a DUT for a given number of Multicast Groups Mixed Class Throughput Test, measures the throughput of the DUT when it receives and forwards a mixture of unicast and multicast frames. Multicast Group Capacity Test, determines the maximum number of multicast groups that a DUT can register and to which it can forward multicast frames. Multicast Group Pattern Verification Test, determines how the DUT reacts to different group distribution scenarios, either clients joining at a specified rate, clients distributed on several groups or a full mesh setup. 6 Converged Data Center Test Suite, includes: FCoE Max No-drop Throughput Test, finds the DUT's max forwarding performance while delivering converged data center traffic. Converged traffic includes FCoE/FC, and optionally unicast and multicast Ethernet/IP traffic. The DUT can be an FCoE Forwarder (FCF) or an L2 Data Center Bridge (DCB). This test finds the DUT's max forwarding performance by performing a binary search or linear search. This test also collects latency, jitter, sequence errors and data integrity statistics FCoE Max No-pause Throughput Test, finds the DUT's max forwarding performance while delivering converged data center traffic without sending PFC PAUSE flow control frames. Converged traffic includes FCoE/FC, and optionally unicast Ethernet/IP traffic. The DUT can be an FCoE Forwarder (FCF) or an L2 Data Center Bridge (DCB).
