2 Getting started Your Evaluation Kit The Evaluation Kit is an out-of-the-box package intended for evaluating the functionality of the provided products. Welcome to the future in Internet of Things You have now come a step closer to increasing the potential and functionality of your smart home system. Within this box you have a range of products which help you to accommodate every need inhome comfort and security.

3 Step 1 Getting started Connecting the Squid.link Gateway When you connect the Squid.link Gateway, you have three different ways to do so. You can either do it by WLAN, ethernet, or by using the Squid.link Demo App.

4 A. WLAN Getting started Apply power to the Squid.link Gateway. Once the gateway has booted, it will start an access point named squid.link-xxxx where xxxx is the serial number of the Squid.link Gateway. Connect your PC/tablet/phone to the access point. Note: The access point is NOT password protected.

5 B. Ethernet Getting started Getting Started Connect the gateway to your local network using an ethernet cable and apply power to the gateway. The gateway is configured to use DHCP, so make sure a DHCP server is available on the network. Note: The gateway should not be connected directly to the PC.

6 C. App Getting started Getting Started Connect the gateway to your local network using an ethernet cable and apply power to the gateway. Download and install the Nabto app Squid.link Demo App in App Store or Google Play. To add the Gateway, push the + button in the right corner of the app.

7 Getting started Getting Started Push the barcode scan icon, and scan the barcode on the gateway. When the barcode has been succefully scanned, you can save the device details in the app. Push the save button in the right corner to do that.

8 Getting started Getting Started The gateway is now saved. To get more information about the gateway, push the name of the device - in this example Squidlink The gateway and the app is now ready for use. For adding new devices proceed to step 3.

9 Step 2 Getting started Accessing the web interface Via WLAN Open a browser and enter in the address bar. Via ethernet Open a browser and enter the hostname of the gateway in the address bar. The hostname is gw-xxxx where xxxx is the last part of the gateway serial number without preceding zeros. Example: Serial number: C Hostname: gw-7c Note: You might need to write in front of the hostname to make sure your browser doesn t treat the hostname as a search query.

10 Step 3 Getting started Adding devices to the gateway Go to the page Device list Add the devices by entering the EUI (Extended Unique Identifier) and optionally the installation code. The EUI has the format: 0015 BC00 xxxx xxxx The installation code has the format: xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx x represents a letter or a number.

11 Step 4 Getting started Reading data The data will show up in the Overview page and it will automatically be refreshed when new values are reported by the devices. The displayed RSSI value is the signal strength received by the end-device. Note that in networks with routers it may be from the nearest router. Note: The devices can be removed again by pressing the X on the device list page. If the device is turned off and not receiving the leave messages, a factory reset has to be initiated. Factory resetting a device: Press the button and release the button again until the LED starts flashing.

12 Upgrade Upgrade your Evaluation Kit After having evaluated the products, you can upgrade your Evaluation Kit to a Squid.link Starter Kit. This upgrade will provide you a software licence together with the access to a demo server, development tools, SDK with predefined configurations, documentation for an easy start as well as engineering support, and access to Develco Products Support forum. To upgrade your Evaluation Kit, please contact: sales@develcoproducts.com

13 Getting started: Starter kit Step 1 Registration Send an to register@develcoproducts.com with the following information: Your name and title address Phone number Company name Package number of your Starter Kit You will subsequently receive a username and password to access the support forum

14 Getting started: Starter kit Step 2 Installation Log in to the support forum and click on Squid.link Starter Kit. Choose SmartAMM tool from the menu and install the tool by clicking on the link. Step 3 Video tutorials To learn about the Squid.link Gateway, choose Instruction videos from the menu. There are also instruction videos for connecting other devices to the Squid.link Gateway.

15 Getting started: Starter kit Step 4 Demo application Get inspiration from the demo application and learn how to use different devices of the Starter Kit. Find it under the tab Demo application. Step 5 Write your own application Now you can start developing your application. Please read the document named SDK Squid.link Developer User Guide to be found in the tab Documentation. Step 6 Enjoy You are now ready to start benefitting from the various possibilities of Smart Home.
