1 A HISTORY of AUDIOMATICA'S CLIO 1991 Introduction CLIO was officially presented at the 1991 AES (Audio Engineering Society) exhibition held in Paris, after which sales took off immediately, particularly in Italy. The CLIO system was a fully integrated software and hardware measurement solution from the start. Version 1.0 included the HR-001 ISA PC card and was among the first to implement the MLS (maximum length sequences) measurement technique. This data acquisition format is computationally efficient and well suited for the microcomputers of the day. Today's CLIO v12 is light-years ahead of v1, but still includes the original MLS capability due to it's usefulness for specialized measurements. During the next two years, CLIO saw a considerable number of enhancements to its user interface and feature set with the elegant and user friendly V2.0. While the microcomputer market was still DOS based, V2 added a proprietary graphical user interface for its expanding suite of electroacoustic measurements CLIO V3 CLIO's DOS software is upgraded to V3.0 and a new ISA PC card called the HR-2000 was introduced with far more power in a smaller form factor.
