1 The Bulgarians demand cheaper TVs by installments In the first half of 2011 BNP Paribas Personal Finance, Bulgaria releases The new JetCredit s Top Half 1 Sofia, July The most preferred TV model for buying by installments in 2011 Q1 and Q2 is cheaper than the most demanded in This shows the new JetCredit s Top Half 1, issued by the leading domestic consumer credit institution - BNP Paribas Personal Finance, Bulgaria. In 2010 the average price was BGN and for the first six months of 2011 it is BGN According to the rating s data, most of the people who applied for the consumer credit JetCredit chose a TV with lower characteristics compared to the most demanded model in In the previous year this was a 32 Full HD TV with resolution 1 920x1 080 and contrast :1. In the first six months of 2011 the most demanded TV is also 32 but its main parameters are: HD Ready, resolution 1 366x786 and contrast :1. The rating JetCredit s Top 10 classifies every six months the top demanded models among the 10 most demanded product types, according to the applications data of the company. It might be considered as indicative for the Bulgarian market since its new edition is based on more than applications for JetCredit in 2011 Q1 and Q2. All the applications were reviewed and that is how were determined the 10 product groups which are most demanded by the Bulgarian consumers. The most popular models within each group were specified after counting the applications and summarizing the results. As demanded is determined a good for which a credit application was received. JetCredit s Top 10 goal is to inform the clients and the merchants which are the most demanded product models and their average price. For instance the top TV model describes the profile of the most wanted TV model by parameters as price range, screen dimension, resolution, contrast, extras, etc. In order to keep the business ethics no brands are announced within the rating. According to JetCredit s Top Half 1 in the first six months of 2011 the three most demanded products remain TVs, notebooks and washing machines. However, the rating shows the following trends - besides the TVs, the Bulgarians are buying cheaper PCs, air conditioners and washing machines. The PCs average price decreased most significantly from BGN in 2010 to BGN in 2011 Q1 and Q2. Another difference is that in 2010 the people were buying more powerful PCs. For example the most popular model in the first half of 2011 has 2,7 GHz processor while in 2010 the most demanded PC was with a two core 2x2,4 GHz processor. The RAM memory decreased from 3 GB to 2 GB. Regarding the air conditioners JetCredit s Top Half 1 shows two trends. In 2010 they held 6 th place within the rating and currently they are on the last 10 th position. The average price declined by about 10%. In 2011 Q1 and Q2 most of the Bulgarians bought by installments air

2 conditioners at price of BGN The JetCredit s Top data showed that in 2010 most of the BNP Paribas Personal Finance, Bulgaria s clients spent an average of BGN for such goods. The PC monitors bought by installments recorded the most significant average prices increase in the first half of 2011 compared to Currently Bulgarians are buying 22 LED ultra slim monitors at the price of BGN In 2010 the most demanded were 19 TFT LCD monitors at the cost of BGN The notebooks and the cooking ranges recorded much slighter average prices increase. The Bulgarians spent an average of BGN in 2010 for a notebook. The numbers for 2011 Q1 and Q2 are BGN The increase of cooking ranges average price is almost the same: BGN in 2010 and BGN in 2011 Q1 and Q2. The water heaters and the bedroom furniture s average prices remained close to the 2010 levels. JetCredit s Top Half 1 data also shows that the interest to buying bedroom furniture is increasing. In 2010 this product type was positioned 9 th among the most demanded goods and in 2011 Q1 and Q2 it holds 7 th place. Regarding JetCredit s Top Half 1 BNP Paribas Personal Finance, Bulgaria s CEO Mr. Loic Le Pichoux stated: The rating s main purpose is to be very useful not only for the business community and trading companies but especially for the common customers. It will help them to make their choice when buying the most important things for the household, because it gives a hint which product provides the best value for money, based on the consumers research and experience. We also aim to help families planning their budget when applying for a consumer credit. For example, they will be informed what the average price for the most popular TV is and may they afford it.
