6 ABB i-bus KNX General 1.2 Product and functional overview Description of the inputs and outputs The SafeKey Switching Module features two inputs and two outputs. The input (+ / D / P / -) is used for connection of a SafeKey Wall Reader with or without keypad. Connection is implemented with the 4-core cable of the Wall Reader. The maximum cable length is six metres. The connection cable is connected to the terminals (+ / D / P / -), see 1Circuit diagram, page 9. Input C is used for evaluation of the external or internal setting status information of the Security Terminal MT/x. The evaluation is used for control of the buzzer in the SafeKey Wall Reader, see ETS parameters in the Security Terminal, page 28. For further information see: Function Set/Unset request, page 19 Note The evaluation of input C is only undertaken with the function Set/Unset request. With function potentialfree switching, input C does not have a function. Output E is used for transferring a set/unset request to the Security Terminal MT/x. The output is a normally closed (N.C.) contact with an integrated resistor combination of 2.7 kohm and 560 Ohm. The normally closed contact is switched in parallel to a 560 Ohm resistor, so that a resistance value of 2.7 kohm is present on the terminals when the contact is closed, and 3.26 kohm is present when the contact is opened. The integrated resistor combination is used on the one hand as a setting line for the Security Terminal and on the other hand as a tamper monitoring feature (disconnection or short circuit) for the cable between the SafeKey Switching Module and the Security Terminal. Output F is used for potential-free switching of electrical components, e.g. door openers or garage doors. Depending on the connection, the output can be used as a normally closed (N.C.) or normally open (N.O.) contact, see 1Circuit diagram, page 9. Caution Output F has a maximum switching current rating of 5 A! The device can be destroyed if the max. switching current is exceeded. 4 2CDC D0201 SSM/x

15 ABB i-bus KNX Commissioning 3 Commissioning 3.1 Creating chipkeys/keypad codes Before a chipkey or a keypad code can be created in the memory of the SafeKey Switching Module, the programming key must be created. Any chipkey can be used as the programming key. The module can manage 512 chipkeys or keypad codes including the programming key. Important Only one programming key can be created per SafeKey Switching Module. However, with several SafeKey Switching Modules, the same programming key can be created. SSM/x 2CDC D

16 ABB i-bus KNX Commissioning Creating the programming key Press programming button, until a continuous tone can be heard from the Wall Reader. When this tone sounds, insert a chipkey into the key reader and remove it again. This process teaches-in the chipkey as the programming key in the SafeKey Switching Module. It is recommended that you assign a special marking to this chipkey. New chipkeys or keypad codes can only be created using the programming key. Caution By pressing the programming button, the entire memory content of the SafeKey Switching Module is deleted, i.e. all the chipkeys, keypad codes, code combinations and the programming key used up to now are irretrievably deleted. Press the programming button, until a continuous tone is heard. During this continuous tone, insert a chipkey into the key reader and remove it again. 1 x The continuous tone stops. The chipkey has now been teached-in as a programming key. ABB Mark the programming key accordingly, e.g. P for programming key. Important If a programming key is lost, a new programming key must be created. For this purpose, proceed as described in chapter Creating the programming key, page CDC D0201 SSM/x

21 ABB i-bus KNX Commissioning 3.3 Function Set/Unset request The function Set/Unset request is used to set and unset the Security Terminal MT/x Setting A differentiation is made between two methods when setting: Direct setting For direct setting, the Security Terminal MT/x is switched set and unset from outside the premises by the user. Delayed setting For delayed setting, the Security Terminal MT/x is switched set and unset from inside the premises by the user. Note In order to ensure that an alarm is not triggered during a setting attempt, the user has a certain time (delay time) to exit the premises after a setting attempt. During unsetting, the user once again has a certain time (alarm delay) to unset the alarm at the Security Terminal, after they have entered the premises Direct setting There are different ways of direct setting: with chipkey with keypad code with code combination Important For direct setting, the acknowledgement input C must be switched with the status information external set or internal set of the Security Terminal, e.g. via an available relay output of the Security Terminal. No signal may be present on the acknowledgement input C in the unset state of the Security Terminal, i.e. the input may not be bypassed and 12 V DC may not be applied. A signal must be present on the acknowledgement input C in the set state of the Security Terminal, i.e. the input must be bypassed or 12 V DC must be applied. SSM/x 2CDC D

22 ABB i-bus KNX Commissioning Setting with chipkey Note With static control (switching behaviour) of the relay, the contact with successful setting is closed, until it is unset. The contact is re-opened if setting is unsuccessful. With dynamic control (pushbutton behaviour) of the relay, the contact is opened and closed again for about 1.5 s both for the setting and the unsetting request. 2 x Insert and remove the teached-in chipkey twice consecutively in the key reader. With successful setting, a long continuous tone sounds for about 2.5 s. (A signal is present on acknowledgement input C). With a non-successful setting, a fast intermittent tone sounds for about 2 s. With successful setting, a long continuous tone sounds for about 2.5 s. (A signal is present on acknowledgement input C). With a non-successful setting, a fast intermittent tone sounds for about 2 s. (No signal is present on acknowledgement input C) Delayed setting There are different ways of delayed setting: with chipkey with keypad code with code combination Important With delayed setting, the acknowledgement input C evaluates the delay or alarm time of the Security Terminal, i.e. as soon as a signal is present on the acknowledgement input C, the buzzer on the Safe- Key Wall Reader is controlled. The continuous tone continues as long as a signal is present on acknowledgement input C. Note With dynamic control (pushbutton behaviour) of the relay, the contact is opened and closed again for about 1.5 s both for the setting and the unsetting request. SSM/x 2CDC D

24 ABB i-bus KNX Commissioning Setting with chipkey Insert and remove the teached-in chipkey once in the key reader. 1 x During the delay time, a continuous tone is sounded (duration is determined from the Security Terminal via the communication object Delay time is active).
