5 PRODUCT OVERVIEW In SharePoint 2013/2016 the Datasheet view was replaced with the new Quick Edit option which works now in all browsers (since it is no longer using ActiveX). However, the new Quick Edit mode does not support all the "Excel-like" features that many of the end users got used to in SharePoint That's why we've created the "Datasheet view for SharePoint 2013/2016". After you install and deploy this add-on, you'll be able to bulk-edit your lists using the good old Datasheet view, in addition to the new Quick Edit mode. In addition we also added the Datasheet view web part. This web part enables you to display a datasheet view of any remote list, on any page that you want. Copyright KWizCom Corp. 7 INSTALLATION GUIDE SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS SERVER REQUIREMENTS SharePoint Server/Foundation 2013/2016 CLIENT REQUIREMENTS Microsoft Internet Explorer Windows 7+ INSTALLATION PROCEDURE SHAREPOINT 2013/ Log in as SharePoint administrator account to your SharePoint front-end server. 2. Browse the product s page on KWizCom s website and click the Go link under the Install using our Web Installer section. This will start the KWizCom web installer. Note: The KWizCom Web Installer will automatically offer you to upgrade other existing KWizCom products on your farm, in case you have old versions installed. You can check which products you wish to update at this time. 3. In case you prefer just to download the relevant.wsp packages and manually deploy them, then in the web installer UI check the Download only option (3rd page in the installer s wizard). When the installer finishes you will be able to go to the installer s folder on your server, and install the KWizCom packages by simply running the SP- WSPInstaller powershell script. 8 POST INSTALLATION SHAREPOINT 2013/ After completing the package installation and deployment, activate the KWizCom Datasheet View for SharePoint 2013 S.C feature (Active by default). 9 ADMINISTRATION GUIDE This section describes all administration activities related to Datasheet view for SharePoint 2013/2016, including: product localization, product configuration and customization. PRODUCT ACTIVATION KWizCom products are available for evaluation prior to purchase. This way you can try our components and verify that they indeed meet your needs. Each evaluation version contains all features of the component's production version. The only difference between the versions is that the evaluation version is time-limited and will operate for a period of one month. Once you decide to purchase a KWizCom component you will need to order and then to activate the product. The steps that need to be taken next are listed below. SHAREPOINT 2013/ Order the product on the KWizCom website or contact our sales team at sales@kwizcom.com. 2. After the order was made, you can activate your installed evaluation version. Activation is done by the following steps: a. Open SharePoint Central Admin. On the main Central Administration page, you will see the KWizCom Features Administration icon: Copyright KWizCom Corp. 10 b. Click the KWizCom Features Administration icon. You will be redirected to a page that allows you to manage all your installed KWizCom products licenses: c. Click the Manage License link next to the product that you wish to activate. You will be redirected to that product s license management page: Copyright KWizCom Corp. All rights reserved. 11 d. Click on the Request product code and start your evaluation now link. A product code will be generated and displayed as in the following screenshot: e. Copy the product code. f. 12 Copy your Product Code into the Product Code field, and after you fill-out all other form fields, click Send Activation Request button. g. Once your order is confirmed, you will receive the Activation Code for your product by . h. 14 CONFIGURING THE DATASHEET VIEW FOR 2013/2016 WEB PART When you browse a list view and then click the Datasheet view ribbon button, you will be redirected to the Datasheet view of that list view as expected. If you edit the page, you will notice that a KWizCom Datasheet View web part is added to the list view page: The purpose of this web part is to display and hide the regular SharePoint list view web part and the SharePoint Datasheet view web part. (all this happens behind the scenes when you click the Datasheet view ribbon button) IMPORTANT: Do NOT remove any of these web part from the list view page, this will cause the list view page to stop working. The Datasheet view web part has 2 additional capabilities: 1. Enables configuring the Datasheet view to be the default view 2. 15 These two functions are configured in the web part toolpane. Property name Select which view to display Set as default view Calculated Function Description Current list view - have the page display the current list view in datasheet view when user clicks Datasheet view ribbon button. This is the default behaviour which users expect. Other list view Selecting this option will show additional fields which enables you to select the exact site, list and view to display in datasheet view. This option is more relevant when you use the Datasheet view web part in other page than list view page, and wish to display some list in a datasheet. Check this option if you wish the current list view to be displayed in datasheet view by default. In additiona to running a summary function, you can add another function that will be calculated based on the result number. You can use math, string and date function, written in C#-style.
