1 E-LEAN BT 6 DOF Smart Inertial Measuring Unit With Bluetooth Connectivity General Description E-LEAN BT is a full inertial measuring unit with 6 degrees of freedom and equipped with a 16bit Microcontroller with digital signal processing unit. E-LEAN BT also makes internal estimation of the lean angle, pitch angle of the vehicle and road slope, if properly fed with vehicle speed. E-LEAN BT features also a Bluetooth Connectivity for the development of Laptop and Smartphone applications. E-LEAN BT acts as an access point from user devices (Laptop and Smartphones) from and to the Vehicle. E-LEAN BT is connected to the vehicle CAN BUS: it receives the vehicle speed and it transmits the accelerations signals Ax-Ay-Az, and the angular rate signals Wx-Wy-Wz; the estimation of the vehicle lean angle and the diagnosis status of the hardware. The E-LEAN BT is compliant to automotive regulation R10 and it is designed for applications in safety critical systems subject of standard ISO E-LEAN BT applications E-LEAN BT may be used in motorcycles and ebikes applications which benefit from leanangle, pitch angle and road-slope knowledge; among others: Slide Out/Lowside identification Traction Control and Braking Control Suspension Control and Stability Control Adaptive lighting Airbag-triggering Energy management and range prediction in electric vehicles BT-LEAN allows OEM to develop software applications as it provides an access point to and from the motorcycle.
