2 YSI OPTICAL DO ACCESSORIES YSI BOD ANALYST PRO SOFTWARE Connect meter directly to the PC and BOD Analyst Pro software to take initial and final DO values and let the software eliminate human errors by calculating the BOD/CBOD results. Data can also be entered manually without connection to a computer. For use with YSI instruments, 52, 5000, 5100, Professional Plus, MultiLab, or ProODO. At public cation time, the only Windowsupported operating system compatible with this product is Windows 7. This could change. If you have an operating system more recent than Windows 7, please contact NCL before ordering this software. Optical DO YSI /ea By now, most of you are aware of the optical technology for measuring Dissolved Oxygen. However, the following are a few things you may not be aware of: * The optical equipment has been on the market for several years now, and hopefully has been debugged of all serious problems. However, we caution you to check with your Regulatory Agency to ensure that they will accept data generated with optical DO equipment. * Warm up time is less than 15 seconds. * Holds calibration for up to a month. This was stated by a YSI Rep. However, we caution you to follow the protocol designated by your Regulator, or follow the required procedure. In most cases, this will require you to calibrate at least daily or each time you power up the DO measurement system. * YSI states that the accuracy of the Pro ODO probes are ± 0.1 mg/l, while the accuracy of galvanic probes is ± 0.2 mg/l. However, response time of the optical probe is slower than the galvanic probe (40 seconds for the optical; RH 95% as compared to 18 seconds for the galvanic probe; RH 95%). * Optical probes require little or no flow past the sensor because they do not consume oxygen during measurement. However, for most laboratory measurements, including BOD, stirring is required as GLP by the procedure and to ensure that the value obtained is representative of the entire contents of the bottle. * The optical probes do NOT require a filling solution. * The optical cap for the probe is guaranteed for one year by YSI.
